Beyond an spanish experienceOur night at Manzanilla was a dream. We are spanish and we wanted to experience our food far away from home...
We knew that Dani García es one of the best worldwide chef and that Santiago Manzanilla's executive chef was had lead more than one big project outside Spain, but we didn't expect to experience the best "tortillitas" of our lifes, an impacting rabo de toro hamburguer or a unique sweet rice with berrys....
We return for business in July and we have alterado book es our table... Really an experience5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellente! This was the perfect combination of craveable traditional tapas kicked up a notch. We loved it!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentExcellent restaurant. We can't expect less from Dani Garcia. Try the Tomato and cherry gazpacho, absolutely awesome!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA Place You Dream About!A friend had Highly recommended Manzanilla, but without giving me any details, other saying that it was fantastic. So I booked a table for a lunch with three of my clients.
We were totally thrilled with every single aspect of this restaurant from the beautiful and comfortable interior to the perfect service and world class food. I ordered what we all agree was the best gazpacho in the world (the waiter said the chef has won awards for it), and followed with the hanger steak which was also the best I've ever had anywhere.. My guest and I travel a great deal in our work and we all agreed that from the appetizers and entrees to the unusual and stunning rice pudding, Manzanilla is one for the books! Can't wait to go back again and again.!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMNew & ExcitingThis place is a HOME-RUN! Opened only 9 weeks ago, the service is extraordinary. The room design is sleek, hot, inviting, and exciting. Cocktails are excellent and inventive. Croquettes were crispy on the outside, moist and tasty inside. Tomato tartare was a delicious take on bruschetta; and the Oxtail Brioche was a revelation of flavors. The kale salad was amazingly creamy thanks to the poached quail egg melding w/blue cheese. The sea bass crudo was so tasty and unlike anything I've had before. I wanted to dive into the Cured Scallops, a ceviche-ish appetizer that was to die for. The Black Rice entree was yummy, the Suckling Pig had crispy skin and was delectably creamy, and the Merluza was perfectly cooked w/ a delicious sauce. FAB FOOD!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe Love This RestaurantWe had an amazing dinner at Manzanilla. The four of us ordered all of the appetizers+snacks and we enjoyed every single item. I have to mention the favorites- we loved the huevos flamenca, kale salad, oxtail brioche, and the croquettes. For main course the pork dish was outstanding and the lamb was a close second. We were pretty full going into dessert but managed to find room for the rice pudding- I never eat rice pudding but I must say I really enjoyed it. The manager Rick took the meal to another level with the two different wines he selected for the each course- I will be drinking more albarino this summer. We all thought the place had a great vibe and it is the first restaurant where I really loved the entire experience.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding Modern Spanish CuisineI've eaten at Manzanilla several times now for dinner and lunch, and I keep going back for more. My friends from out of town have come back when they visit New York, and they are not easy to please! We love the croquetas with black squid, the oxtail buns, the tuna tartare. The black rice is a must as well as the Secreto Iberico. The deserts are very creative. Don't go expecting the traditional paella or pinchos or tapas that are so ubiquitous in New York City nowadays. This is modern Spanish cuisine, and a great opportunity to taste Chef Dani Garcia's food without traveling to Marbella.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and wine list.Great food and wine list. Two helpful sommeliers on staff. Would happily go back.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful restaurant, great foodAs a solo diner, I was a little concerned how I would be treated. No concerns there. Service was attentive, but never hovering, and I felt like my order was just as important as everyone else's. The food was spectacular, and best of all, not oversalted. The pulpo (octopus) appetizer brought together a wonderful combination of sweet and spicy, in a beautiful presentation. The squid ink rice with shrimp and cuttlefish was milder, a little bit of a let down from the octopus, but very good in its own right. Best, though, was the dessert. The flourless chocolate cake was incredibly light, but deeply chocolate, complemented beautifully by the bourbon ice cream. I would return to this restaurant just for the dessert!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful eveningWent to Manzanilla on a recommendation from a friend and were very pleased with our dinner experience. Great food wine pairings and unique food options. Recommend the squid ink croquettes, lamb and fish, and the desserts, of course. Cotton candy rice pudding was a surprising favorite. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Vibe was friendly and picked up as night progressed. Will definitely go again!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed our meal at ManzanillaWe enjoyed our meal at Manzanilla very much and will most definitely be back. We live in the neighborhood.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't miss MonzaillaOne of the best dining experiences we have ever had. The suckling pig and black rice were outstanding. Somm directed us to a perfect white wine. Service by everyone was first rate and very friendly. Highly recommend!!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb crudo... Flavor combinationsSuperb crudo... Flavor combinations are inventive but easy on the palate and plain delicious4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an incredible nightWe had an incredible night at your restaurant. We walked in with high expectation of the food, which was met on every level. However, the service was impeccable! From the moment we walked through the door, to our time at the bar, to our service at the table, to our departure the service was knowledgeable, warm and genuine. I know you're a new restaurant but you've started off with a bang! We wish you the best and look forward to our next visit.
E4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA Wopnderful New Addition to NYCAlthough nominally a Spanish restaurant, Manzanilla is actually an upscale, contemporary venue more international than Spanish. There are new twists on traditional dishes without the silliness that pervades "molecular gastronomy". The room is elegant and the tables, thankfully, are well spaced. Just a little help on making the service more professional and this would be one of the top table in New York.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMUnusual and delicious. SmokedUnusual and delicious. Smoked octopus was wonderful. The Ibericp pork loin "Presa" was outstanding.
Excellent sherry selection and good wine list with many Spanish options.

My friends and I went there and we were impressed with the inventive and delicious food! En fin, que un 10!!!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was incredible, theThe food was incredible, the service was attentive, accommodating and very knowledgeable, plus the dining room is beautiful. Highlights included the black squid-ink rice and Imberico pork presa.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a wonderfull restaurantWhat a wonderfull restaurant ! Excellent food and service, great ambiance, well thought out wine list . We are big fans of Boqueria and were impressed that this was more of a true Spanish restaurant but had a very casual feel . Cant wait to come back .4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were fabulous!Food and service were fabulous! However, food portions were very small and not in line with price.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA memorable mealDined for the first time last Friday and had a memorable meal. The ambiance is inviting and the service was spot on. We had an excellent waiter who made great recommendations and was attentive and pleasant. The food was divine! We were looking for more sophisticated Spanish fare (not tapas) and were thrilled with our choice of restaurants. I highly recommend the Sun also Rises (cocktail) and the charcuterie plate; both are creative and delicious.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing!Amazing and creative food, service and ambiance. We had the oxtail brioche, squid ink & cuttlefish croquettes and octopus for appetizers and the black rice and pork entrees. Our server was very helpful in recommending and pairing Jerez wine (which we've never tried) with our meal. Loved the space too-- it's a nice change to eat a larger space with high ceilings and room to spread out-- we usually eat downtown and sit on top of other diners. Loved everything about this place and will definitely be back.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMNew restuarant in areaLoved the high ceilings and mirrors...and the staff where willing to make up for mistakes made throughout the meal3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA welcome additionWe were very impressed with the quality and ambiance of Manzanilla. The manager, Rick Pitcher ,worked at Tocqueville and Gotham Bar and Grill - before joining Manzanilla. He was responsible for assembling an impressive wine list. His recommendations were excellent - both for food and wine. Lighting and most important to us - the sound level - were both perfect pitch. We'll be back.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was good.. RecommendFood was good.. Recommend the oxtail brioche and octopus to start. Was a little disappointed with the suckling pig. It was dry. Recommended a great priced wine that was fabulous. Dessert was delicious. We had the signature moon dessert. Will probably go back and try it again3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for dinner and lunch!Had dinner with my husband there and brought two friends back for lunch. Neither time disappointed and everyone raved about the food and the ambience. Recommended it to my mother for dinner as well when she was in NYC and she went two nights in a row! The scallop appetizer is an all-around favorite - so good! The oxtail brioche and the croquettes were really rich and perfect for sharing. The suckling pig was delicious and not at all heavy, as was the pork "presa". The kale salad was very tasty and the lobster salad looked very good. All the desserts we tried were wonderful and a nice ending to great meals. Service was pleasant and knowledgeable, decor is warm and inviting. Will definitely be going back again to try other menu items.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMnew find that was fabulousnew place so thought to give a try and glad i did. the layout is open and energetic. all food-croquettes, scallop sashimi, tuna tartare and sea bass had excellent flavor and presentation. the waiter was very pleasant and punctual but tried to offer wine selections that were not very good nor did he do a fair job explaining the different flavors to expect. he finally referred me to a sommelier who did a fantastic job.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA Welcome New Culinary ExperienceHaving visited Dani Garcia's restaurant, Calima, in Marbella last summer, we had been eager to try his new New York restaurant. It did not disappoint! The ambiance, service and food were all exceptional. We loved the menu and choice of wines, and we plan to return soon. So good to have them in New York!!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food, great wineDelicious food, great wine list, wonderful service!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative, Delicious SpanishWe were expecting Tapas, but got much more. The space is beautiful, very energetic, but inviting at the same time. The place has an almost retro feel to it. The food was absolutely a home run, we had almost every appetizer and a few of the entrees. So not a Tapas restaurant per se, more of a traditional appetizer and main course menu, but you could definitely come for a great bottle of wine and make a meal of the apps, which were all creative, fun and most importantly delicious. The wine list and wine service were exceptional. I see a great future.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMManzanilla cocktail the best.Manzanilla cocktail the best. Food ideas great. Only drawback was the noise level. Very noisey. Forget conversation.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAll in very nice experience. All in very nice experience. Would definitely go back..3/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
