Mantra was the perfect choice. The upscale ambience, professional service and top notch dinner exceeded ournexpectations. The coconut sorbet was the perfect dessert after a spicy dinner. The Lobster dish was excellent. The mixed tandoori grill was moist and flavorful. Tables are nicely spaced, so that even though the room was very busy we could carry on a conversation. Our server Joesan, was gently attuned to our needs, and informative in helping us navigate the menu and our choices--all of which were amazing. The Crab Chaat was sensational and we "will" be returning to enjoy that again. My tandoor shrimp were wonderful, not to mention the cheddar/garlic naan bread!!! The food is prepared beautifully and it is delicious. The mood of the restaurant is lovely...intimate and elegant.We like a variety of tastes so we order a few appetizers to share as well as an entree, also shared. Probably one of the best Indian restaurants we have enjoyed. They have a lounge area as well as the main restaurant. The ambiance is wonderful....you feel like you are in a NYC establishment...lovely bar, lots of wood, mirrors, warm and cozy. The tables are well spaced...the service was very attentive...and the food was delicious. We look forward to our return visit in the near future. Our only objection is that a 18% tip is added to parties of 4 or more. This is not typical and so I see many who don't study the bill adding an additional tip by mistake.
