Diner Reviews
  • "Good food and service is always a given - I have my favorite menu choices but always have interesting specials "

  • "We were in Baton Rouge for two weeks on a business trip. I took clients to dinner each night, so we were able to sample a lot of very good places. Mansurs is right at the top. Great service (Chris) and food, and a fine wine list that isn't overpriced. If you are looking for a place to take a date, or a business group, you won't be disappointed. I think this has become my go-to place when I'm in BR."

  • "This gem off the beaten track is one of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge. I highly recommend you try it out.."

  • "As usual, the food and service were very good, but the noise level is pretty high."

  • "We'd never been before. The ambiance was wonderful, and the fact that we requested a quiet table and got one is much appreciatedl."

  • "Recently Mansur's did a fabulous job of supporting a complex dinner engagement. Three of my guests were from China and spoke only a little bit of english. The management team at Mansur's made sure that our surroundings and service were flexible to meet the needs of my guests. Simple things such as water at room temperature were cheerfully accommodated. Server Ian did a great job. All the food was delicious and noteworthy. Great job by the entire staff (kitchen, wait staff, front desk, on-site manager). I will confidently return with any complex engagement!"

  • "We booked this restaurant because it was close to our hotel. We had a business meeting. Everything was perfect. The food was excellent. The service was fast. We would definately come back again."

  • "Mansur's is one of the best French style seafoods restaurants in Baton Rouge. They also do the other meats, but they seem to excel in seafood. Their chargrilled oysters are always a killer. I had one of the seafood specials that I loved. It was an ahi tuna steak (cooked perfectly rare) that was blackened. It was served with some linguini and crabmeat that was dressed with a wine reduction sauce. They have a sommelier with some good experience, and the wines are reasonably priced. If you're in Baton Rouge and like the one-of-a-kind places give it a try."

  • "The food is usually great, I eat their often. They could not cook a steak correctly after two tries."

  • "Seating choice was horrible, small table for two with no room to move and it was on a frequented walk through. They did well with decorating the resturaunt with valentine's day decor adding that special occasion touch. We ordered for our appetizer the Charbroiled oysters with lump crabmeat - they were wonderful, Meal - I had the Chilean sea bass(a little over cooked) and my husband had to Duck, which he loved. Overall a good experience and lunch prices were reasonable."

  • "So my girlfriend worked in the service industry and know her steaks, we both got 10oz filets. She ordered mid-rare and it was over. I ordered mine medium and mine was over as well. I was a little off. I picked this place because I figured the steak would be proper. She didn't have the heart to send it back. We're friends with the server. Service was great but not too happy with the proteins. Crab cakes app was awesome."

  • "Slow service. Went through three drinks before the main course arrived. Food was alright, but done better at other places in town. Think they are trying too hard to portray their creole menu with toppings. A good steak does not need crabmeat on top. Stick with the basics. Shrimp cocktail and charbroiled oysters were top notch."

  • "First time here, went for brunch and was quite pleased, looking forward to going for dinner"

  • "Mansur's has great food and impeccable service- not just exceptional service, but impeccable service. The fish specials are always delicious. This time I enjoyed the salmon special, and a cup of gumbo. I will always return here. Next time, I will try to leave space for dessert."

  • "Although we made the best of the night, being seated in the entry foyer was anything but pleasurable! The wine, a Conundrum red blend was the best thing of the night, other than the company of my gorgeous wife. Grilled oysters were dry, not allowing us to dip up any anticipated juices with the good mini French bread loaves. The veal in the entry was the toughest cut of veal I have ever experienced. Only one of the pieces provided the expected tenderness of veal. As such, we chose to pass on dessert. The wait staff was attentive and did a good job maintaining drinks and clearing the table."

  • "My husband an I enjoyed the romantic lighting and cozy atmosphere for our New Years' Eve dinner. Service was great and perfectly timed, and the food was excellent. Our favorites were Cream of Brie soup, Mahi Mahi A'La Cocodrie, and the 10 oz. filet...cooked to perfection. We plan to return for future special occasions."

  • "It's always a treat to eat at Mansur's. The waiters are knowledgeable, the cooking is superb, the facility is warm and inviting. It's easily one of Baton Rouge's top five best restaurants."

  • "Booked this last minute (dined early was promptly seated). Sommelier came right over and helped to select a DELICIOUS wine imported from Italy. The crab and brie soup was delicious."

  • "Food is great at this restaurant, booth was cramped for four people."

  • "This is a great restaurant for lunch. I always get the shrimp crepes they are devine. The food is very tasty and always fresh. The portions are just enough to fill you up, and still have a little room for dessert. All the fish entres are good and always fresh as well. Good atmosphere, private rooms are available and service is excellent. I would recommend this restaurant for a good meal and my favorite time is lunch."

  • "The restaurant was decorated so beautifully for Christmas to get you in the mood for the holiday. The brie & crabmeat soup was delicious and was a great choice to begin our "date" night meal. We also enjoyed the cedar plank redfish dish. Due to eating so much wonderful food, we could only find room to split the Bailey's Cheesecake Chantily with a great cup of coffee. A great ending to a great meal. Very friendly and efficient wait staff."

  • "Mansur's was wonderful . At the very last minute, I phoned & increased the size of our party by 2, & the graciously accommodated us. The food was superb from the eggplant & crab cake appetizers we shared through their special crab & Brie soup to the various fish dishes we selected accompanied by a wonderful risotto. Waiter was good though a bit forgetful. Great meal."

  • "Reservations are a must. Even though every table was full the service and food was excellent! We had the duck and cedar plank fish - wonderful! We were in the piano room and loved it. A perfect choice for a special occasion."
    Dined on 11/28/2013
  • "6 people for a Birthday celebration. While usually I love the Piano, seated on top of it means you cannot communicate with half of your guests. Waiter very inattentive, food good save for an overdone steak. Not the best visit."

  • "First time in Baton Rouge and we wanted great food and local flare. We got both! The baked oysters were heavenly, I've dreamt of them since. The gumbo was classic, not my favorite but I think it is true to the local flavor. Everything else was spot on. Enjoy!"

  • "We were celebrating a birthday. The waitress was very patient when we asked her to repeat the specials. The food was excellent as was the service. Will be back again."

  • "Food was great as usual....servers please note my 2 complaints. 1. Know who ordered what dish when you bring it to the table. Saying "who gets the fish" only shows me you are not paying attention to me as a customer. 2. Learn what the placement of silverware on a plate means. Then you will not have to ask... "Are you done yet? " or try to remove a plate I am still eating from!"
