Manon is a modern American restaurant and bar in the heart of Meatpacking District. The menu presents locally-sourced, seasonal fare by the Manon culinary team.

Manon spans three floors with the main dining room at the top, a bar and lounge at street level, and a mezzanine in between for admiring the scenes above and below. The interior incorporates baroque style elements with an industrial feel that pays homage to the Meatpacking District and New York City.

  • "It started off promising but ended quickly. Service was just awful especially as place was quiet for a Sat. It Sucked. Besides taking forever for courses,(I would expect that at Il Molina) When finally received the food, they overcooked 2 steaks, it took forever to get the new ones out. Not even an apology and we will rush order them. After calling for the waiter again, they finally came out. Now I'm livid but calm. Call the manager over who totally botched up this part. Didn't really apologize, kept trying to push desserts and champagne on us. I finally said how about taking off a bottle of red we ordered which he did. Brought desserts to us but when check came, both steaks were on there. Had to call him over again to finally remove them "

  • "We've now tried Manon three times, and each time I am left shaking my head. Not once have we been sat within 45 minutes of our reservation. It's lovely to get a free drink, but we make reservations to eat at a specific time, not 90 minutes later. The bar is often too crowded to converse while waiting for the table, and groups of people are left breaking apart. The food is good: but most food for this price is in New York—certainly nothing to write home about. The decor is beautiful, the bar stunning. And the dinner service team (once your seated) really work hard to make your evening enjoyable. I just wish it was more thoughtfully scheduled and capacity for the bar was monitored for enjoyability."

  • "I really enjoyed Manon. The ambience and service were very good. I would even say excellent and although the food was also very good I just wish there was a bit more of it for the price tag. This is not a tapas place and the dishes are labeled entrees but once our plates arrived I really had to wonder. All said I would still go back. I would just order more bread."

  • "The restaurant was beautiful, the staff was pleasant and I thought we were off to a good start. The service was painfully slow. Some of us ordered a salad/appetizer, and those actually came out quickly. Then we waited and waited - at least another full hour for our dinners. When the dinners arrived, they were pretty awful. At least three or four of us ordered the Dorade. We were told that it was a fillet (boneless), however, we discovered it wasn't. After each bite I had to pick the bones out of my mouth, so I just stopped eating. Others told me later that their steaks were fatty and greasy. I was embarrassed that I had chosen the restaurant and left there hungry. When we got back to our hotel, I and ran out and got a slice of pizza."

  • "First, were seated at an excellent, comfortable table with a nice view of the room and outside the windows until the curtains were tastefully drawn as the evening began. After an amusing Amouse Bouche, we had the 7 course Winter tasting menu (among the offerings were ravioli, sea bass, lobster, venison, tuna) which was of course, amazing. Even more noteworthy, I'd have to say, was the service. Perfect timing, swift and subtle. The dessert plate was probably may favourite, and I'm more savoury than sweet. 4 tasty creations to try. Some special sweets and a couple cups of amazingly flavourful coffee later, and the night was over- two and a half hours had passed! A wonderful night out. I highly recommend it."

  • "Hey Manon, Thanks a lot for taking 20 minutes to bring our drink orders out and 30 minutes to take our menu, when there was only one large table party and one other 5 person table ..which, by the way, was seated AFTER we came in. The "newbie" waiter was apologetic for the long wait and offered to take down our orders, only he couldn't advice if the lamb or the steak was better.. Very disappointing, wont be doing date night at this place again, that's for sure, and told my friends not to as well. Thanks, James"

  • "The ambiance and decor in the restaurant is great. It leaves a good impression. The staff is friendly and the house cocktails are interesting. I managed to try all of them since we had to wait a full hour past hour reservation time to be seated. When we went to be seated we noticed that it wasn't very full and we probably could have been seated at least 30 to 45 minutes earlier. I think the staff took advantage of the fact that it was valentines and it would be almost impossible to make last minute reservations. The food was Ok. None of the dishes stood out, but they weren't bad either. I think the restaurant relies too much on the ambiance to make up for the Ok food. I would recommend it for groups because there is plenty of space."

  • "Manon (what's a manon?) made for a romantic, last minute choice for Valentines Day dinner. The bar and dining rooms were sophisticated nightclubby designs that were sexy and exciting. The hosts were warm and accommodating about changing tables. So the negative side...there was a prix fix menu for V-day, which is always a letdown but I'm sure is more lucrative than offering the full menu. The food ranged from excellent (grilled eggplant) to bad (uninteresting amuse bouches, and dry tasteless chocolate cake). The cocktails, which should have been exquisite for the venue and nearly $20 price, were just ok. In the end, small portions of uneven food came to over $250 for two, with two drinks each. For this price, there's better options."

  • "The decor was great, and the place overall was definitely energetic. I loved the bar downstairs. A great place to go with friends. The food is not bad. The appetizers were great. But for the main course 3 of us ordered fish, and 1 person ordered the strip loin. My only complaint was that mine was the only fish that was not deboned as I thought it was going to be. The strip loin was amazing. I wished I had ordered that instead. Host and Hostess were wonderful, so overall I had a great time and would still recommend it. Especially since the rest of my friends liked the place."

  • "There was a private event on the first floor, so we were seated in the small room on the second floor. There was only one other party, we were told that most people come after 9:30PM. The room was very cold and despite several requests and assurances, the room remained cold. The waiter was a little irritating since he constantly complained about NYC. The food was very good; however, make sure you ask for the price of a cocktail that's not on the menu - $19 for a small, average Cosmo."

  • "This third floor restaurant sits above a a mezzanine lounge and a ground floor bar. The eating area is dimly (but mood-enhancingly) lit and the tables are well spaced (for NYC!). The menu and wine list is great - the food itself was superbly presented and was excellent overall. We had two different steak dishes as entrees - both cooked to perfection. One small issue - which may be worth noting - when our server explained the specials, he neglected to mention the price. The special entree was about $10 more than the average price on the menu. When the bill arrived, we'd also been charged for two extra side dishes - probably a genuine mistake, but maybe worth keeping an eye on if you are dining at Manon."

  • "Absolutely wonderful place no matter what you are looking for: great drinks and bar scene, relaxed and intimate atmosphere, upscale fine dining experience, gourmand foodie delight or professional, attentive service. All of it you'll find here in Manon. With the three levels that not interacting with each other they are accommodating to the tastes of very different public and do it well. It's a gem in Meatpacking district and we are so glad we've discovered it. For us it's one of the few best restaurants of New York and we'll be there every time we visit."

The chef exudes confidence and has no need for pretension -- this is cooking as a fine art. The desserts were just as spectacular. Service was excellent from the welcome at the door to the table -- friendly and professional with an obvious desire to please. The decor is simple and elegant. This is an excellent addition to NY's restaurant scene and the bar downstairs is also pumping. Go and be spoiled."
