  • "Food was good, Server was Outstanding. Had the worst table on the second floor."
    Dined on 4/11/2014
  • "TERRIBLE FOOD AND EVEN WITH A RESERVATION TERRIBLE TABLE. i BROUGHT A GUEST FROM NEW YORK AND WAS EMBARRASSED TO HAVE MADE THIS CHOICE."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "I've made better food at home. The decor especially on the 2nd floor is very busy and, frankly, agitating. They put us upstairs practically by ourselves when there were plenty of spaces downstairs when we arrived and when we left. It wasn't busy. I doubt this place will make it long."

  • "Decor was nice as was location. Two hours for food to be served though. There was a party of 30 in their private room and the server apologized and offered dessert on the house. Does not appear as though the kitchen can accommodate both a large party and still service in the dining room."

  • "From the location to the atmosphere to the food and drink and finally to the personable staff, this place is a winner!"

  • "This was a special night for my husband and I, unfortunately for the money we spent I thought the service would be more personable. Only one server for many tables with no other assistance. She did her best but definitely needed back up. Seating was ok but didn't seem very clean and table decorations have much to be desired. Food was good, small portions for salad, especially for the price. Not sure I will return for dinner, maybe lunch."

  • "Beautiful restaurant, our waitress was outstanding, food.......not great! Pasta was a little gummy, fish good, but risotto too starchy, Caesar Salad with Chicken was just Fair, and I had tuna tartare which was nothing special! I recommend you work on some of these. Tuna Tartare at Ocean Club is how your Tuna Tartare should taste! W e would think of returning if we were going to Ohio Theater again, for the convenience, but not for the food! Sorry, but I believe in HONESTY with the restaurant, not "putting the word on the street"!!!!! Sincerely, Howard Pirwitz"

  • "Manifesto has become our go-to spot for dinner before the ballet, symphony or other performances going on in the Ohio Theatre or Capitol Theater because the location is perfect. Location isn't enough, however----we also go there because of the varied menu options and the excellent food and service. It's also open late, so we go often for their delicious and original desserts after a show."

  • "Dined at Manifesto on Sunday, May 16. It was our second time dining at the restaurant after attending an event at the Ohio Theatre. This time, we were very disappointed in the wait staff. Our server repeatedly asked to clear our dishes when we were still eating our entrees. Moreover, after we ordered a second round of drinks, our server almost immediately brought our check and never returned with the drinks or a dessert menu. Even though the food was quite good, we were unable to enjoy the meal because our waiter made us feel so rushed and unwelcome."

  • "A terrific place for a fun after work get together. We had a great time sampling scotch and sharing food."

  • "The restaurant is next to the Ohio Theater - which was showing The Phantom Of The Opera. The decor is muted tones with portraits of famous (men) and a quote from each. There is an extensive scotch and wine list. I had the manager's special - an old fashion it was wonderful. We decided on three appetizers beef sliders, tiny stuffed peppers and Fontina and Prosciutto. Everything was excellent and surprisingly filling. If you are going to the theater, make a reservation. We did and the place filled quickly."

  • "We've loved de Novo so we thought we'd like Manifesto too, but it Manifesto disappointed from the start: The ad said valet parking (like de Novo) but no, maybe later. Instead, we paid $8 to park in a nearby ramp w/ an elevator to ... somewhere near Manifesto but not exactly. Arrival was met with ... nothing. A greeter arrived and led us to a tall boy table where we were able to communicate in shouts and sign language over the noise - it was more than "energetic" it was noisy. The menu was unreadable in the dark. The martini was drinkable but really not very cold on arrival. The food was OK. The waitress was very nice - no complaints there. We might go again for a drink but not for food. Why do that when de Novo is so close and so special?"

  • "The food was delicious and the wine list was great. If the service hadn't been so slow, I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation, but because they made us miss the curtain, I have to say don't go if you have theater tickets!"

  • "Wonderful restaurant! Great food and service. The atmosphere was relaxing and romantic. I can't wait to go back soon. I highly recommend the beef cheek."

  • "Since we have season play tickets, I was hopeful that this would be a great find. Our friends had dined here before and noted average-good food but poor service. They were right and will never return after this trip. Jury is still out for us. The major problem was that it took over an hour for any food to arrrive. Our entrees did not arrive until we were almost ready to leave. The waitress was very apologetic and the manager comp'd our entrees which was nice (and to be expected). The duck and tuna tartare were excellent but the osso bucco was dry and the root vegetables were inedible. Vegetable lasagna was cold. Wine was fine. Not sure if we will give the place another chance. Great location."

  • "Perfect place to go before (or after) a show at the Ohio Theatre, which is about a 30-second walk. We had drinks and small plates before the show to celebrate my wife's birthday. Great happy hour! We'll be back .. soon."
    Dined on 3/6/2014
  • "We have been to Manifesto many times and have always loved it. But this time the food wad not its usual quality sad to say. The beef cheek, always a favorite was tough and the osso bucco was very fatty. But everything else was its usual perfect. We will go again just hoping its an off night. Staff was wonderful service was good and drinks were good. So we will go back."

  • "We rushed in the snow to get to the Romeo & Juliet Symphony on Valentine's Day so we missed dinner. We made reservations on Open Table before the show and walked the 25 feet from the Ohio Theatre to Manifesto! We were shown to a great window table where we enjoy the food and watched the snow falling on Columbus. We sample the signature drinks - Blood loves Blood (blood orange vodka) and Praline Whiskey. We enjoy our salads and the recommended Goat Cheese & Marinara appetizers. The five of us all got something different from Duck, Chicken and Lemon Sole to Tuna Tartare, Meatball Sliders and Crab Cakes. The food was very, very good and the portions were just right. We really enjoyed our late night dinner. We will return again!"

  • "Took my wife to Manifesto on Valentines Day. Great expeience. The spicy tuna tartar was amazing. My wife had the beef cheek and it melted in your month. Our server recommended the perfect wine and made the experience wonderfull. Fun and cozy atmosphere. We will definitley be going back."

  • "We had been once before and ate in the bar. This time it was valentine's day and we got put upstairs at a nice table. The ceiling was low so the vents we blowing cold air. Everyone of the 3 table had coats on. It took about 20 minutes to get a drink order. Drinks were great and the food was fantastic. We got the hot goat cheese marinara appetizer, braised beef cheek, and lemon sole. All were great. We will go back but sit in the bar."

  • "The waitress was delightful, the decor beautiful, and the wine perfect - the food was so delicious I'll go back - I had the pizzetti - the only problem it was COLD. Seriously! I was able to overlook it because of the flavor - so good - and I'll go back, but if it's cold again I won't return. That tells me that the food sat on the shelf too long before being brought to the table."

  • "This restaurant is located just off the E. State entrance (closest to The Ohio Theater) of the 5/3 Bank Building. For theater goers, it is very convenient since the Ohio Theater is literally steps away and the Capital theater and the smaller studio theaters of the Riffe Center are just across High St. The bank has a parking garage but we prefer to use the State House underground garage since it is easier to get out of after a show, The food was delicious and creative. And, the portions were quite generous. The layout of it was perfect for being able to have conversation without being overheard or having to shout to your table companion seated across from you. Our server, Morgan, was pleasant and very attentive. We will DEFINITELY go back!"

  • "Manifesto, next door to the Ohio Theatre, is a choice for a pre-concert dinner. And we had an outstanding server. The maitre d'y was friendly and gave us, at our request, a "quiet" table in a corner upstairs -- still not too quiet because of a loud private party going on in the next room. What was disappointing was the food. Nothing was bad, but nothing was great, particularly as value for the money. We had the 'baked goat cheese' appetizer, and learned that goat cheese doesn't 'bake'. The roasted duck legs were boring without any sauce, and the sweet potato hash, though a nice idea, didn't rescue them. The shrimp pasta had three (3 - count 'em) shrimp and the pasta was far from al dente, the diavolo sauce was fine but not remarkable."

  • "The atmosphere is very fun and has a romantic plush side to it. Restaurant can be a corporate lunch mtg or romantic dinner. Food was good, everyone in the party enjoyed their food. Some felt the quality/what you get is priced a little high. But overall very enjoyable and we would go back. Crab cakes were the only item we would probably skip next time. Heard the outside sidewalk seating is nice to sit in the summer."

  • "Nice Location. Decent service. Charming atmosphere/decor. Food quality was less than stellar when compared to the price per entree. Would likely only return in the future for drinks only."

  • "This spot was a little tricky to find, so leave a few extra minutes your first time. Once inside, your greeted with a beautiful ambience! The service was great! The food is a little pricey, but unique and delicious. If you like scotch, you'll be happy with their large variety. Overall, it's a nice place to dine and I'd be happy to go back!"

  • "We had theater tickets an this is next to the theater. Won't go back despite this location...it is worth driving a bit to go elsewhere. The service was poor waited 20min for order to be taken. Ordered an appetizer and it was served with our entrees the bruschetta was 3 pieces of bread with cold sauce and cheese. Would have sent it back but after food was delivered no one came back to check on us and we were on a time schedule. My daughters pasta dish had three shrimp in it and my dip had less beef than a subway sub and was cold as well. Way over priced as well. Told a friend next day and the had a similar experience but figured just a bad night. Guess not just how they operate."

  • "The ambience was warm and inviting. For visiting for the first time I was not excited about the table we had up stairs. The food was very good. The risotto in both the Beef Cheek and Seared Sea Scallops. The Baked Cherve was also tasty. I am personally not a scotch drinker, however, the waitress knew what to recommend and the Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban was a great recommendation. In all the visit was very good and satisfying."

  • "The beef cheek was amazing! I heard the tuna cups were good, but I liked the beef cheek better. It just melts in your mouth. We also tried the spiced pear flat bread with I would recommend. The crab cakes were excellent as well. Drinks were good."
