  • "MBP never disappoints. had dinner reservations and was seated immediately. we had bacon/cheddar biscuits, seared scallops, pork (vietnamese), rib eye, risotto with squid & lobster. holy cow. if i ate nowhere else but mbp for the rest of my days, i'd be ok w/ that. my friend had a late lunch so he couldn't pull his weight (no complaints, more for me, muhahahah) but i think if you split 5 plates btween 2 people, the portions turn out perfectly. if you're a foodie, it's a must to hit in mb. the bar scene always seems to be happening, no matter what night of the week one strolls in. service is appropriately attentive and glass never stays more than 1/2 empty. i loved chef le fevre's work @ water grill dt, this place is better. thanx chef."

  • "My first time at MB Post, I went with my husband and everything we had was wonderful. We ate at 5:45 because that was the only time we could get a reservation and the only time it would be quiet. By the time we left at 7:00, it was too noisy. The second time, I went with a group of 5 for lunch. The small plates are meant to be shared but it was awkward to share with 5 people so we ordered our own meals. I had the outstanding biscuits and the pork buns. The buns were good but not exceptional. I also had their signature mojito and was disappointed. It's made with blood oranges and didn't taste or smell like a mojito. My bill (including tip and tax) was $40 and I didn't feel like I got a good value. I probably won't return for lunch."

  • "Finally had a chance to go after wanting to for so long. They're open for lunch on Fridays and I was able to book a table for four on OpenTable that morning, which is great. The food was even better than anticipated, and it came out quickly (nice, since we had a 3 year old with us!). The biscuits and the skirt steak were amazing. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "It was our first time. We had an excellent server, Holly, who was attentive and gave great suggestions. The food is different and somewhat ecclectic. It ranges from Chicken Pot Pies to more exotic types of meats and sauces. We had the Pot Pie, flank steak, muscles, and green beans. The green beans that had a spicy sauce were my favorite. I also liked the bacon cheddar biscuits but my wife was not impressed by them. My wife also had their blue berry cheesecake for desert, which she enjoyed. Nothing is cheap there, $5 for two biscuits, my wife's beer was $7.50. For the biscuits, 4 entrees, 1 beer and a 1 desert our check before tip came to about $85. The food is different an worth a try. We wil probablyl go back now and then."

  • "We celebrated a birthday there last weekend. We ordered four menu items for the two of us to share, as recommended by our really cool waiter. The fried chicken was so good, I nearly ordered a second plate. We loved the spicy bacon, too. Even the citrus salad and rave-worthy biscuits had us finishing every morsel. We cleaned our plates, drank our blood-orange mojitos (with tarragon and mint!!!) and laughed the afternoon away. I will return for more!"

  • "Food was excellent. The table in the back near the kitchen could use a bit more space. Two members of our party of 4 were consistently bumped and jostled by people sitting at tables behind them that were too close. This didn't appear to be an issue in the front of the restaurant."

  • "I was really excited to finally try this place out. We went on the advice of an executive chef, who listed this as one of the three best restaurants in LA. This was our second restaurant of the three, and while it was not as good as the first, it was still a good dining experience. I'm a big fan of the tapa-style sharing since I tend to want a variety of dishes when I eat out. Hands down the best dish was unexpectedly the appetizer biscuits (in second place was my excellent drink). Kind of disappointing since it was the beginning of the meal, but the other dishes were not bad, just sort of underwhelming after that. Service was good. Our steak was overcooked, but promptly replaced. Would probably go again, but maybe only once a year."

  • "Upscale Manhattan Beach in the iconic original Post office. Staff is perfection. Kitchen spotless (as was the beautiful ladies room) The culinary team behind the glass partition was almost as good as the Royal Ballet. Tapas were mouth watering. Great place to dine...if you don't want to talk or hear anyone EVER - except shouting at the top of you lungs! Sadly the noise level was beyond shouting and uncomfortable for me however my friends just arrived from Norway, and insisted on going to POST. They are major global foodies and were jet lagged enough to still have really plugged ears from the airplane. NOTE TO POST: The noise level is beyond ridiculous - please find an engineer to fix..Quick! Many Many locals want to come back..."

  • "What a great place for Sunday brunch! I had been invited here by a friend once before and couldn't wait to return, so I soon invited another friend for her birthday. The ambience is both casual and sharp with wood plank tables, high ceilings, and a spotless open kitchen, where the cooks prepare each dish with concentration and focus. The drinks are imaginative and delicious (try the citrusy "Pushing Up Daisies"), and the dishes absolutely delicious! Although there is a lot of bacon and other meats on the menu and my friend and I are both plant eaters, we were delighted with what we ordered. The French toast with apples and a dollop of whipped cream actually tasted French, and the frittata with asparagus and mushrooms was delectable. Yum!!"

  • "This was my first time at MB Post and after reading lots of great things about it, I had high expectations. It lived up to the hype! The food was wonderful! We had the bacon cheddar biscuits, apple coffee cake, lemon blueberry skillet cake and the benedict. Everything was great but the benedict was just plain amazing. They gave me a blueberry cheesecake since I was there celebrating my birthday and that was great as well. Lunch and dinner menus look amazing too so I am definitely going to trying MB Post again. Get benedict - you will be blown away!"

We apologize. 8.30pm: These diners before you look like they're in for the long haul. We have a communal table for six we can seat you at and then we will shift you when your intended table is ready - is that ok? Now some diners might have been miffed at this point - but we sincerely appreciated it - just the fact that the manager came over personally and spoke to us about the situation was fabulous. This is proper service. No attitude - just an accommodating nature. Did as suggested - 9.10pm: moved to table after downing one bottle of champagne we had brought - our cheese plate was moved with us. Excellent service!"

  • "Looked forward to checking out this popular spot while on vacay from NYC. Definitely a vibrant scene. Menu is enticing. Great, fun ambiance. Has all the right ingredients for a superb dining experience but just falls a bit short.The server was friendly and welcoming but had the same rehearsed spiel for everyone so the experience lacked authenticity. He also suggested a pairing of steak with risotto which didn't really work. The surf and turf sell with it being seafood risotto got lost in the delivery of the message and the dishes don't work together. The steak was also served medium at best even though we ordered rare. Drink offerings and wine list were great. Sadly, was not WOWED. *Surprised by the deelish restaurant FWD next door...YUM!"

  • "Hadn't been in over a year, and the only reason we went again was an out-of-town guest wanted to try it. Our first experience had the phone way too greasy....hard to even taste the food over all of the butter, etc. that they put into the food. Somehow, the experience last night was so much better. The issue of the way that the food is brought out is still a slight problem, and the noise level is so high that it is not easy to converse with your tablemates, but still much better experience than before."
