Diner Reviews
  • "On Pier 39 at Fisherman's Wharf (upstairs), Mangos Taqueria and Cantina has excellent food and very friendly service. The inside seating area is cramped because of the large tables and chairs, but the outdoor seating is comfortable and provides a great view of the SF Bay."

  • "First time I have been to Mango's. The food was delicious! The shrimp cerviche appetizer was amazing and the shrimp tacos were to die for. Great location, good food and excellent service!!"

  • "Price is a touch high for what's effectively well-done Tex-Mex food (think Chevy's). Service was slower than expected, especially for little things such as refilling water. There was a group of people hanging out at the bar and chatting, which may have occupied the servers."

  • "This is the first Mexican restaurant where the Carne Asada was served as one large piece of grilled steak... although it was good, it definitely was not what I was expecting... all other Mexican restaurants I've been to serve the beef in chunks, covered in tasty rich sauce... sure wish I had known! Be warned...."

  • "The waiter who was also working as the host stated he did not know how to use OpenTable to look for our reservation. If the restaurant is going to use such a service, then those working at the restaurant should know how to use it. It should have been a sign of things to come. For a Mexican restaurant, one would think that they would take pride in making their own guacamole. However, this was NOT the case. They only had store bought guacamole. Actually, all the side dishes that usually come with typical Mexican food were store bought - pico de gallo, black beans, etc. If you want to use your credit card, good luck with that! Their machines weren't working."

  • "Not sure if this restaurant has actual tables as we had a party of 5 adults and one baby and they sat us in the BAR with a BABY! We saw several other tables get chips & salsa, that came in after us. We had to ask for our chips. I guess that is no biggie since we also saw them walk in with a Costco sized bag of store bought chips i.e. they don't make them there. They have poor choices for vegetarians which is actually HARD at a mexican restaurant, I had to eat Nachos as all of the other real meals had meat. Food wasn't great and we were virtually ignored by our server and it wasn't even busy!"

  • "Went to Pier 39 to get seafood. Only place I could get a table was Mango's. They ran out of the marlin. Service was very slow and noisy. Not the best mexican food, but not terrible either."

  • "This place has a nice patio that's well protected from the wind and has a great view. We came in with a group of 7, place was nice not to crowded made reservations and we had no wait at all, definitely will be returning here again."

  • "Traditional Mexican formats (taco, burrito, fajita, you know. . .) for tasty meats. Home-made chips with guac were excellent, but the bagged ones were served with standard salsa. They were out of tamales and empanadas for vegetarians, so the vegetarian choices were pretty boring. We wanted our server to check back a few more times for timely beverage refilling. Food delivery table timing was good."
