Diner Reviews
  • "We enjoyed a fabulous meal at Mango. Our entrees rated 10's all around the table. We will return to the restaurant on our next visit."

  • "As always, Mango delivered a great dinning experience. We ordered 2 of the entree specials available on Saturday night, the Scallops and the Corvina. Scallops with the mango ceviche were very good, but the Corvina encrusted in black sesame seed and rice served over mashed potatoes topped with oriental vegetables and tangy aji rocotto-aji panca sauce was amazing. Please make this item a regular on your menu. My friend ordered the Saltado the Champinones (one of my favorite dishes) and loved it. I called it "Mushroom Wonderland" (yes, it is the kind of dish that can make a vegetarian out of an avid carnivore). Service and desserts were great too!"

  • "All we did was tell them we were celebrating a birthday in our resos and they added the birthday girls name to the specials menu and confetti to table! Fabulous experience for a birthday!"

  • "A quiet table for two, a mojito and then a delightful pre-theatre dinner of Ensalada Exotica, Saltado de Champinoñes and Lomo Saltado with the splurge of a dessert of Pionono (Soft sponge cake rolled in rich manjarblanc and dusted with powder sugar) and Mango Sorbet finished with fresh mango slices. We enjoyed a glass of Sauvignon Blanc Santa Ema ’13 Maipo Valley, Chile with dinner."

  • "We enjoyed the dinning experience; the food was good and the waiter was committed to getting us served in time to get to the Fox Theater on time."
    Dined on 10/23/2014
  • "Our group had some dietary restrictions and our server and the restaurant was very accommodating. Everyone was very impressed with the experience AND the food."
    Dined on 10/22/2014
  • "Delightful lunch with attentive staff. The desserts are especially tasty."

  • "We celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary at Mango's. They decorated our table, something we did not expect, and delivered two glasses of champagne for us to toast. Food has always been very good. This night was no different. A great place to dine and relax."
    Dined on 10/20/2014
  • "Great variety of menu offerings. While the entrees were enticing, we went with multiple small plates all of which were fresh and authentic based on prior trips to Peru. Our waitress was completely knowledgeable on the menu and guided our selections."

  • "Peru? Where's that? It's at 11th and Lucas. This restaurant does a great job at being true to its named cuisine. There aren't many (any?) items that cater to the mac-and-cheese crowd, although the wine list is very extensive and, by nature, includes a wide range of wines from the obvious and less obvious locales around the world. I will definitely go back to Mango."

  • "My husband and I had a fantastic dinner at Mango. I would recommend to all. The mussels small plate was fantastic. Had salmon special and scallop special. Pianono for dessert was amazing. We will go back next time we are in St. Louis. LOVED MANGO!"
    Dined on 10/18/2014
  • "Great food & very different! I had the seafood plate... Very tasty but spicy!! Also try the sangria. Loved it! The avocado salad was yummy too! Nothing bad to say! The server was very knowledgeable and recommend many options. I was there with my girlfriends and they all loved their meal. Definitely worth the price."

  • "We have been to Mango many times and love it. The service can be just a tad slow at times, but overall, it's always a very good experience."
    Dined on 10/17/2014
  • "My wife and I are already planning our next visit to Mango. The beef heart and ceviche apps were wonderful as were our entrees. The chocolate cake was a little dry though. Service at Mango will make anyone want to come back."

  • "Honestly one of the best dining experiences I have ever had!"
    Dined on 10/15/2014
  • "Mango has an awesome selection of tapas and entrees that are good for individual plates and also sharing. The banana chips and dip (free with every visit) are so delicious!"

  • "If you are in the mood for some Latin flavor then this is the place for you. The food portions are perfect. The food taste is excellent.and the pricing is just about right. Oh I forgot to mention the desserts, amazing!"

  • "I never had Peruvian food before and couldn't wait to try it. Drinks were good but I thought the special chicken and potatoes meal was bland - something I could have made at home. Perhaps it was just my bad choice. My spouse enjoyed the ceviche. I have had platanos before from Columbia and thought both versions we had (appetizers and dessert) were just OK. Maybe an off night for me or the restaurant?"

  • "Took a chance on this restaurant, wasn't sure what to expect, but turned out to be a good choice. Service was prompt and the food was excellent and different, prepared with Peruvian influences."

  • "Desserts are my favorite. Food portions could be a little bigger."

  • "The service was excellent and the table perfect. I was hoping to entertain out-of-town professional colleagues in style, and yet enjoy a comfortable table in which we could talk. We stayed four hours and never felt rushed or prodded to move along. The food was great, the wine choice perfect."

  • "Great place. We were there on a Monday night, so likely less noise. Food and service were good. We did think the basic, lime and spicy flavor was common to mostly all the menu items we chose. But, we would go backagain ffor sure."

  • "My wife and I visited Mango for a nice quiet dinner out without the kids. It was a very tastefully decorated restaurant with very romantic ambiance. The wait staff was knowledgeable, prompt, and courteous. The food was the best part about our experience. We would definitely recommend this place to others and will also plan on returning."

  • "Of the several times I've been to Mango, the experience is always the same: phenomenal food, poor service. Our server let drinks run empty for long periods, and he brought me a birthday dessert (which was very nice, don't get me wrong) without asking if anyone else needed anything. Then he was MIA for about 20 minutes. There were 4 other people that wanted to order desserts, but since he vanished, we all just decided to get our checks and leave."

  • "Food, service, and decor were all outstanding. Our party of 3 tried a half dozen small plates and all were great. Some we ordered a second helping! It worked out great to have dinner here before the ball game."

  • "Had a very good business lunch. The Peruvian tenderloin sandwich was very tasty. The Peruvian spices add to the taste. It is sort of Spanishy but uniquely different. A must do is the Pisco Sour - excellent!"

  • "I was from out out town and took my customers here. We had a great time tried some new foods and just enjoyed the night. Really loved it."

  • "Mango is my favorite restaurant - so of course we celebrated my birthday with a delicious meal. Everything was wonderful. We enjoyed some of the $10 specials in addition to regular menu items. The food was fantastic as usual. Still my favorite!"

  • "I cannot say enough about our dinner. The food was extraordinary - unique tastes, textures, beautiful presentation. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly without being intrusive or cloying, and attentive. Highly recommend."

  • "While in St Louis my wife and I had dinner at Mango on 9/8/14. We had a reservation and got the kind of table requested. The place was fairly empty that Monday night. We were served water immediately, but the it took a while before the waitress showed up to ask for any drink orders. Not sure why it took so long. The waitress was very friendly and asked us a few times whether we had any questions about the menu. After we ordered our appetizer and the main dishes they arrived rather quickly. We also had a pitcher with sangria that is really good. Compared to the price by glass the pitcher is a great value. The food was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the restaurant."

  • "Not being from St. Louis, I was telling people this restaurant was on Lucas st. 2 seperate people said, "you must mean Locust st. I was right they were wrong. But the streets are so close together we had difficulty finding it."

  • "Mango is one of my favorite restaurants in St. Louis, so I go often. Great food, great service!"

  • "Lots of small plates & entrees to try. We had the jalea, which is fried calamari, shrimp & fish bites with 2 dipping sauces & the skewers trio... And we could have ordered a second round of both! Delicious! We had the causa de salmon, which wasn't what we expected, like a Napoleon of potato salad with salmon. But it was quite good, too! The cocktails we both started with were wonderful, fresh, paired well with the food. We had the fried plantain "banana split" for dessert, which wasn't our favorite, but we were glad we tried. The waiter was friendly & helpful. Looking forward to going back!"

  • "I took my girlfriend on a dressy date night (shirt and tie and her in a cocktail dress). We were definitely among the most dressy but still felt comfortable and not out of place. I had the Mahi Mahi, which was amazing, and she had shrimp with bowtie pasta. We loved our meals and the atmosphere. Great choice for date night or family night."

  • "My wife and I had dinner at Mango's on 8/26-14. It is a short walk from the Renaissance Hotel. We had a reservation and got the kind of table we requested. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food was very good. We had ceviche, mussels and a shrimp dish. The portion were very good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed a pitcher with sangria which was very refreshing. We had a great evening and will return when we visit St Louis again."

  • "I have yet to have a bad experience at Mango's. Everyone I have brought to this establishment has been equally impressed. Truly a gem! And they cater to vegans and vegetarians!"

  • "Took several business colleagues here for dinner on a Wednesday evening mid-project. Was pleasantly surprised by the food - I had the fish special, which was awesome and a friend had the chicken/mango - very good. They also had plantain crisps that I couldn't stay away from as a starter. The happy hour menu looked good too :)"
