  • "The reason I didn't give the restaurant higher marks is because we walked into a vibrant (and noisy) beach type high end restaurant with laughter and hot spot hussle bustle then we were taken to a very dark, very quiet, solitary area and seated. The area we were seated in was perfect for a romantic couple however we were three girls together on a night out. My suggestion is to make sure you tell them what kind of atmosphere you want when you make reservations. On the beet salad we substituted the mozzarella cheese for the Barrata. Clams were okay, beet salad was fantastic and out of this world. Very delicious bread and different. The lamb was fantastic the scallops very good and the pasta is typical."

  • "After a particularly awful week, we decided to soothe our pain with an excellent dinner. Actually this experience was beyond any expectations and wonderful enough to ward off rough weeks for some time to come. The chef's special bruchetta was the best I have ever eaten in any country. Bravo"

  • "We've lived in MB for many years but never been to Mangiamo. We arrived early, sat at the bar for cocktails - the barman was unfriendly, didn't give us a menu, he pointed to a stack and said "there's the wine list". We had to ask for the cocktail menu! When our table was ready (we booked weeks ago) we were led through the lively restaurant, out the back, down a dark passage, through another dark dining area, to literally the LAST table in a dark corridor somewhere under Sketchers! The seat was broken and there was NO atmosphere. Awful. The food was 'ok' but we were handed the bill before we had finished and not even offered to see the desert menu or coffee. With so many other great places in MB, seriously, DONT BOTHER with Mangiamo's."

  • "We were celebrating a special birthday for my niece. The wait staff was prompt, very cordial and even surprised her with a special dessert. We were seated in a back room which I highly recommend if available. The main dining area is quite loud and vibrant but not good for conversation. All the dishes were outstanding-- osso buco, fresh halibut, fettuccine Alfredo and chicken parmigiana. We will definitely dine here again!"

I've been here seven times with my wife, and cannot imagine eating here without sitting in the wine/cave room. You must request a table in the wine/cave room when making your reservation!   • "Very bustling noisy environment. Service was friendly. Tuna tartare was acceptable as was the arugula salad on specials list. My date's halibut was ok. Not great. My vodka pasta could have come from a can. Wine list was ok. Beer list not so much. No taps. The kicker was the $160 tab. I would really, seriously, recommend macaroni grill at half the price."

  • "We arrived early so we had a drink at the bar (we sat at the window so we could watch the sights!) We decided to remain in the bar area so we could continue watching the people coming and going. We enjoyed the special salad of the day and the lobster pasta. I would recommend the table at the window if you can get it! The food was amazing and we had several really good servers since we sat in the bar area. I would love to come back the next time I am in CA."

  • "Most was good dinner rolls were hard as a rock. Veal piccata was great as was rack of lamb . $15 scampi apetizer contained two shrimp. Service was friendly but had to wait several times (water) and they were not too busy. When $130 bill came I put down two $100 bills and the waitress said thank you DO YOU WANT ANY CHANGE?"

  • "We were a party of 6 and treated to a table in the cavernous back. It feels like you are sitting in a wine cellar. Everyone was charmed. Our party mostly focused on fish dishes and everyone was pleased with the results. Have been here several times and was impressed by how the chef changed up a few of the dishes. It remains a go to place for excellent food and a more intimate setting."

  • "My husband and I ate here the day after Valentines day. I ordered chicken Marsala with garlic mashed potatoes and hubby got sausage and peppers with penne pasta. Food was good, host was very accommodating was able to seat us 15 minutes earlier than our reservation. Actually host was friendlier than waitress. The restaurant is small but set up nice. The atmosphere is a little loud but believe it is due to the small space not loud guests. Overall good experience and we'll be back."

  • "I can out to visit for a friend's birthday and my friend choose this place as it was a good location and close to where we were all going later. This was everyone in my groups first time at Mangiamo's and we all loved it. There was plenty of food adn it all tasted great. I am looking forward to going to Mangiamo's again on my next visit to MB. I will also note that we were a half hour late and they were still able to seat us on a Saturday night. Mangiamo's has a very nice atmosphere with great service!!"

  • "I was visiting LA and always look for good food when I am travelling. I picked this restaurant from the Open Table review and was not disappointed. I had the Smoked Pheasant Nachos appetizer. I was not disappointed with the taste and presentation but think that I would much rather have had it on a slice of Baguette or nice Italian bread. It came on a nacho - I kept tasting the 'fried' component that detracted from the lovely flavors of this lovely concoction. I will try this variation next time. The Crab Crusted Sea Bass was very good - cooked just right. The shrimp risotto was a bit heavy, but very flavorful. I will go back - interested to try other items on the menu."

  • "The food was notable but the noise level detracted from our full enjoyment. I had the lobster special and it was good tasting though a bit tough and stringy. My wife had the veal osso buco which also was tasty but the veal was over done. We were seated in their back room which seemed special until other diners came and the dinner went down the hill. Tables are too close together and the patrons too loud."

  • "We have been coming to Mangiamo's for over 25 years and are always happy with the food and the service. Our server Jason was great, very attentive and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this restaurant if you have never been. My 23 year old son who has grown up eating at Mangiamo's even joked we could come here everyday for a week, eat something different on the menu and always be happy."

  • "Three of us ate here for the first time Sunday night and agreed we will visit again in the near future. Fabulous wine offerings. Menu was extensive. We all tasted each others dishes and approved of all of them. I am glad we had reservations. The place was jumping and noisy. We were in the middle wine celler room and even it was noisy. However, it was happy noise with a lot of laughter which is always welcomed to my ears. The service was very good and attentive with out being overbearing. I can't wait until spring is back and we will able to see the ocean late into the evening. The front door is 1/2 block from the pier. The sound and smell of the salty ocean was around us walking to the front door. But, the sun had set earlier."

  • "When we first walked in the noise level was very high but very luckily we were seated in a far back room hat was great. We ordered the hot eggplant appetizers to share which were delicious. For our entrees we both had the veal, I had the parmigiana , my friend had the piccata,both tender and moist and delicious. It was a bitter cold night and we were served a small soup which was a very nice touch I'll be back"
