A word from Mangia Mangia
Mangia Mangia offers wonderful Italian cuisine derived from authentic recipes from the Northern and Southern Regions of Italy.
We love Mangia, Mangia. Great
neighborhood restaurant. Kathleen Jain"

Mangia Mangia is always lovely -
gracious ambiance and service and wonderful food."

As always, we had a great dinner
at Mangia Mangia. The chocolate souffle is a must-have."

Service was great! All the food
was amazing! prices were a little high, paying about 30 per entree. but the quality of the food was gourmet and delightful. Never have I ever tasted Italian wine before this place. I'm normally a fan of California Zin, but the dark red Italian wine just blew me away. yummmmmm. This place impressed me with the quality. Customer service was Outstanding! however the price was too high for a weekly or monthly routine."

If I had needed to impress my
sweetheart this year, I would have been out of luck taking her to Mangia Mangia. Their special Valentine's Day menu only listed one vegetarian entree'; Mushroom Risotto, priced at $29. It tasted okay, but came with a serving of barely-steamed mixed vegetables right out of the bag. The baby carrots had that white, dried-out coating, and there was no seasoning to speak of. The caesar salad was dressed very heavily in a thick dressing that tasted like mayonnaise. My date sent it back. Our waiter rushed us through each course so quickly that our entire meal was complete after 30 minutes. The $90 check felt pretty steep for such unsavory fare. We will not be returning."

We liked the quiet, warm
atmosphere for a Valentines celebration for 2. The menu had unique variations on Italian cuisine with very moderate prices. Service was very prompt and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and especially recommend the Flan desert which was presented beautifully and very tasty. I have already recommended Mangia Mangia to friends."
Dined on 2/13/2014
The food was quite good, and
though the menu does not include a wide choice of entrees, there was something to satisfy anyone. It would be hard to beat the service: attentive but not intrusive."
Dined on 2/12/2014
Each dish was perfectly seasoned,
natural flavors, very traditional but extraordinary. (No extra salt.) Italian wine choices were perfect compliments. Gracious and thoughtful service. Memorable indeed."
Dined on 2/1/2014
The food was nice, freshly
prepared, standard Italian fare. Solid chef. Nothing too exciting or extraordinarily inventive though. Having heard raves about the chocolate soufflé I went for that as dessert. It was more of a melt in the middle chocolate pudding than a soufflé but very tasty all the same. In short, I'd go again as it is certainly reasonably priced, but not for a special occasion as the décor misses the mark and detracts from the ambience."
Dined on 1/25/2014
Very tasty Italian food and
friendly service. The chocolate souffle desert was excellent."
Dined on 1/15/2014
disappointing. veal "scallopini"
was thickly breaded and poorly cooked, served on a bed of mashed potatoes? caesar salad was lackluster."

We went to Mangia Mangia for New
Years'. To be fair, we wound up late for our reservation - we were apparently approaching closing. The food was wonderful, as always - I had a beautiful, tender lamb shank and my husband had beautifully seasoned chicken. But the wait staff barreled us through the dinner at an unaccustomed pace. I had no time to eat the appetizer my husband had ordered before, the server told us it was time for the main course. I wasn't finished when the server (a different one this time) asked about dessert. And our desserts hadn't even come when the staff started putting chairs up on the tables (really!). This made us very sad - we were trying to have a celebration! Moral: do not come to this restaurant near closing time!"

This is a real find. We've lived
not far away from this place and didn't realize it was there -- for 17 years!!! The food is authentic Italian and a really nice range of choices and wines. The only drawback is that the restaurant is easy to miss -- which may explain why we never noticed it before. It took a good friend who has eaten there several times to suggest going there. We'll definitely be back -- again and again."

Been going for years now and are
always very pleased with both the food, ambience, and the very personable staff."

I love Manga Manga for so many
reasons, but first and foremost is the food, it's always wonderful. They also have an extensive wine list and have many exceptional wines available by the glass. This gem of a restaurant is owned and operated by two sisters, Lita and Soraya who have mastered the art of delectable dining. The service is great, the ambience is warm and welcoming and I would rather patronize a family run restaurant which is part of the community than a corporately owned establishment. Come on in a give Manga a try, you won't be disappointed. And for all those chocolate lovers, you gotta try the warm chocolate cake..... It's sinfully delicious!"

The classic ceasar salad was
perfect and the special of braised pork chop absolutely delicious. Very attentive and professional service."

Consistently good food, service,
ambience and excellent, creative daily specials."

We've been going to Mangia Mangia
for many years now and we've always had a great meal. Ingredients change with the seasons and availability and there is always a consistency of excellent food. We tend to go for special family occasions but it's also nice for drop-in-before-a-movie meals. Don't miss their house special antipasto and the chocolate soufflé."
Dined on 11/8/2013
This place has a very warm
feeling. The ingredients tasted extremely fresh and heavy. Food was solid but not amazing."
Dined on 11/16/2013
Loved everything we had - unusual
pastas and salads. Wonderful atmosphere for a birthday celebration, although slightly noisy. Great service as well. Prices are moderate. Would certainly return even for a casual meal with friends."

I come from a large Italian family
where the cooking is impeccable. I do not like most Italian resturaunts, because the food does not come close to what I have at home. This resturaunt does a great job of making fresh delicious dishes, and are far beyond what most Italian restaurants have to offer!"

We always have a great meal at
Mangia Mangia and the service has always been excellent. Enjoy!"

We took our 15 year old son out
for his birthday. The menu has traditional American Italian dishes: spaghetti & meatballs, veal scaloppini... The restaurant is one room with an open kitchen , about 14 tables for 2 or 4. On a Tuesday night at 6:30 there were about 5 parties of 2-4. It was quiet enough for conversation, service was great, I really liked the sole w/ lemon caper sauce tho the veggies that came with it got a little over done. My son enjoyed his chocolate soufflé. All in all we had an enjoyable dinner for 3 with appetizers and desserts but no drinks for around $100. We would go back for a relaxing no hassle dinner."

We very staying nearby Mangia and
found it on Open Table - so glad we did because it was a very enjoyable experience. The restaurant is small but comfortable with a calm, attractive ambience. The service was prompt and pleasant. The food was delicious and comparable to any of the "hotter," higher end Italian restaurants so popular today. The family owned business with a clear commitment to quality would be welcome in any neighborhood. Will return!"
Dined on 10/19/2013
Good quick and attentive service
while not being overbearing. Food was excellent, and served very hot, so it came quickly, which I like very much. We will be back!"

If you have the chance to enjoy
the delight that is Mangia Mangia, then it would be a sin not to do so! The food is to die for and so is the staff."

I've been going to Mangia Mangia
for years and it never disappoints. I love that it is family owned and operated. It's nice seeing familiar and friendly faces at the door and cooking up something delicious in the open kitchen."

Our first time at Mangia Mangia.
We were delighted to find a warm, friendly, buzzing kind of Italian restaurant. Nothing spectacular, but competently prepared, tasty food; a pleasant ambience; and welcoming wait staff. The bolognese was very good; the Caesar salad a disappointment with dressing lacking in nuance and way too much of it; the zabaglione was wonderful. We'll go back."

We really enjoyed our dinner. It
was late - 8:15 and we were seated immediately. The soup of the day must have been really good because it was gone by the time we got there're but the fresh tomato/mushroom was even better. The arugula and goat cheese salad was fresh. Best of all was the veal dish we had as well as the roast lamb. Not a huge fan of lamb, but this was fantastic. We finished up with a flan that was very nice and just the right size to split. Service was very good. Glad we took a chance on it!"
Dined on 9/14/2013
Our first time here. Food was very
good, service great. Loved the fruit/ beet salad and we both had two different types of fish which was cooked nicely. The only thing that bothered me that could be remedied quickly is that we really felt that if they served their wine in a much bigger wine glass you would feel more like you were getting more what you paid for. That it would take the dining experience up a notch. I"

I had put out that I wanted real
Italian food. I was all set to go to Walnut Creek but with the bridge closed and many events taking place, I wanted the least amount of stress and no traffic. This place is a dream. The food was so very authentic and down right delicious. I loved our waiter as he presented himself and the establishment with dignity. I would definitely eat here again. It is now my only true Italian place to go to. It was recommended by a very dear friend. I am telling everyone I know. You wi love this place!!!! Moon Sun :D"

Always a lovely, delicious evening
with beautiful choices and excellent service."

Always a great experience there.
Service was attentive but not annoying and food was great."
Dined on 8/12/2013
I ordered the tortelloni and my
companion ordered the chicken farfalle pasta, neither was disappointed. The bread was delicious, the pasta dishes were tasty and filling. I asked for and received additional bread to mop up the delicious sauce. The waiter came mid-way through the meal to suggest the molten chocolate cake as it takes 20 minutes to prepare. We ordered and it was divine! This is a wonderful local spot that I enjoy when I am in the area. Great staff, great food, cute décor; a fun night out."

Mangia Mangia is a regular of mine
and is an absolute gem. The welcome and the ambience are always warm, the food delicious, and the service is great. What more could anyone ask? You must try the chocolate souffle! It was the only time in the whole evening when my party was silent...mmmmm! Try it out!"

Mangia, Mangia has become our
default restaurant when we want to be sure to have a well prepared and satisfying meal in a calm and aesthetic environment. Even though it is located on San Pablo in an uninspiring neighborhood, it is a gem. The service has always been gracious and helpful."
Dined on 8/4/2013
We love this neighborhood
gem...spaghetti is very good, my tortoloni was really outstanding as was the salad with gorgonzola and pears. They also have a good wine list...try the Nero d'Avola, but the house wine is good too. Service is so friendly, you can't miss here."
Dined on 7/31/2013
We have eaten at this restaurant
for several years and have always enjoyed the food and ambience. The style is Italian and the wine list is good. It can get noisy and busy on weekends."
Dined on 6/9/2013
The waiter was fun. The Mangia
Mangia appetizer salad rocks. I'd really call the manicotti (stuffed with the roast chicken and stuff) canneloni but whatever, it was delicious. The touted chocolate souffle though was not really a souffle. Way too much runny chocolate sauce all through it. Don't bother with it. Nice wines by the glass too. All in all ... va bene."
Dined on 7/21/2013
Although service was friendly, it
was disjointed. We ordered steamed mussels but were not given a bowl to put the shells in. When I asked to take my bread plate away to make room for salad, I was told to keep it for my salad. Asked for water but our server clearly forgot about til much later. Had to ask for more bread instead of being offered. The food was disappointing too. The veal scallopini was very fatty. The gravy over it and the mashed potatoes didn't have much taste. The special (trout) was okay. Surprised this place has been around for 20 years. We will not be returning."
