Mandarin Bar - Mandarin Oriental Las VegasQuite the enchanting barCame here with a friend of mine after eating at a restaurant on Sunday. Reserved a table in advanced and had the good fortune of being seated right in front of the live band. The music was phenomonal, the cocktails were crafted masterfully, and the service was excellent. Among the tasteful environment the bar provided, there was a spetacular view of the strip considering you are on the 23rd floor. I would reccomend bringing a date here. Nice food, we ordered several plates of appetizers and everything was pretty good. Prices were normal for an upscale lounge, not cheap, but about what I would expect. Good for a relaxing time with friends or a romantic date. When they found out it was my wife's birthday, they gave her a special shooter and a couple roses. That was nice. Drinks are great too. Creative, and not overly sweet (some good options for non-sweet cocktails). Food is pretty good ... just tasty bar nibbles. Nice, juicy sliders. The fries with bolognese are a bit weird (as well as under seasoned) ... the again, if you order something like fries bolognese, I guess all bets are off and you get what you get. :) Now, as for service ... let's just say that they leave you plenty of time to enjoy the view. I wouldn't mind waiting for food if at least the initial drink order and water hadn't taken 20 minutes to arrive on a medium-traffic early evening. But the servers were at least friendly and helpful. On arrival they took us to a table that was next to a window overlooking the strip. The cocktail list was extensive and the service was first class. The waitress made us feel very welcome and was very atentative. However, you can keep the tab somewhat under control since the limited menu consists of lighter (but deliciously decadent) "bar food" selections. This bar has an outstanding view of the strip from its 23rd floor perch that scans both North & South. Great relaxed atmosphere that allows for normal conversation yet offers groups a great place to mingle. In our 2 hours, we enjoyed some wonderful drinks- I recommend the Cilantro & Cucumber Margarita- and delectable appetizers. Our waitress Sarah did an awesome job of being attentive yet not overbearing. Would go back in a heartbeat.
