  • "It was our first visit and we had heard wonderful things about the restaurant. We were even dining with some regulars and they said the food wasn't as good as it usually was. It wasn't bad it just wasn't... memorable!"

  • "Great restaurant for fish, its very fresh and always prepared just right to taste, not overly cooked."

  • "I have dined here several times, but it had been months since my last visit. Food used to be exceptional. The three of us all agreed that the food was good, but nothing spectacular. Not sure of the changes that have been made, but I am not sure I will return. Many other restaurants to choose from in the area that offer a great dining experience."

  • "Visiting in the area and this was a recommendation from hotel staff. Both my wife and I started with adult beverages followed by Clam Chowder. Delightful an dsome of the very best we have tried. This was followed by a house sald - hers with red French that she wasn't sure she liked, mine with maple-Dijon which was very tasty. Nice selection of breads with the salad. Main course for her was Jumbo Gulf Shrimp which she very much enjoyed. Mine was Beef Tenderloin Medallions Oscar which was fine but not to my liking. Too full for dessert. Overall, a nice find. Wait to be seated was short. Service phenominal. Food was good."

  • "My wife and I just finished eating our anniversary dinner here, and wow, the service blew our minds. Our waitress was completely knowledgeable about the menu and more than kept up with refills on beverages. The food selection made it difficult to decide, since we both wanted to order more than one item just to try it. The portion sizes were perfect, neither of us either wanted more or had any to bring any home with us, and leaving just enough room to split a vanilla Crème Brûlée with a strawberry so fresh I could smell it from over two feet away. We would like our next time to be with another couple, just so we can trade tastes of the fantastic food here. To be sure of seating, make a reservation."

  • "Excellent food and service! The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly."

  • "The menu includes the largest assortment of seafood offerings I'd ever seen in the Midwest, and our waitress assured us all were flown in daily. Our party appreciated the fact that selections could be prepared simply or with more elaborate sauces and sides. All four of us chose the "simpler" preps and found the leek mashed potatoes and baby green beans the perfect accompaniment to our grilled seafood choices. My only disappointment was in the appetizer crab cakes. I prefer mine thinner and with a bit of crispness on the outside. These had a mushiness to them that was a bit off-putting. The wine list was excellent and our corner table perfect for conversation. We look forward to another opportunity to dine here."

  • "This restaurant is casual and yet has a formal tone to it. The bar is very nice and in the summer has good outdoor seating. I reccomend making reservations as even weekdays it gets full. As far as food goes, everything is good. The calamari is a great starter. It is prepared with hoisin sauce which is different than most restaurants but very good. As an entree I enjoy the scallops. Always tender and served with fresh green beans and mashed potatoes. For dessert, the classic creme brulee, served with fresh fruit on top. Highly recommended for business dinners or date nights."

  • "We have tried many dishes at this restaurant through the years, but just recently returned to staying in this area when attending shows at the Stranahan. We noticed this time that there were several other couples dining there before the show. The food is always excellent, but we must recommend the Maple Bourbon Salmon------FANTASTIC!!!!!"

  • "We eat at Bluewater quite often. Not as good as usual. We had a reservation and were seated in the noisy bar. Rather disappointing! Coleslaw is always great... A vinergrette. We were served a mayo base which was also disappointing. Scallops were plenty but much smaller than usual. And service was just okay. Kind of surprised with this visit."

  • "When dining, servers should refrain from attempting to become part of the experience. First names aside, I do not dine out to hear about the server's private life, nor to be entertained by them. Fine dining should involve service that is available, not intrusive."

  • "I have dined here many times and this time the quality of the food was below expectations. The grilled mahi mahi portion was much smaller than in the past and over cooked. The preparation was very ordinary and lacked flavor. The asparagus was way undercooked. The ahi tuna dish was very good, although again, the fish portion was smaller than usual. The service was fine, no complaints there."

  • "Was great for 2, celebrating a birthday. Great food, and you can expect to pay $25-$30 per entree. Not out of line for the quality and the experience, but just know that this is not so much a family dining restaurant. Having said that, there were babies and young children there on a Saturday night. Either they were well-behaved or seated in an area that did not disturb other patrons. I recommend if you are a foodie and dropping $100 is no biggie...or for that special occasion. The ice bar was awesome and the lighting and decor was vibrant. Do make reservations for a weekend night.....they were booked."

  • "Servers are attentive and know the menu. Food is always good. For a good business lunch at a decent price, this is a place to hit in Maumee."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "The food and atmosphere are great but if you are expecting to sit and linger a bit when you are finished...be prepared! The hostesses start circling like piranhas the second you set your fork down! I was meeting an old friend that I had not seen in a while and we were there barely an hour when the hostesses started passing by every 5 minutes and glancing pointedly at our newly cleared table. I understand the need to keep turning the tables but at those prices for a piece of fish...a 15 minute "linger" after dinner would be a nice perk!"

  • "Our food and service was fine; but I ordered a chocolate covered pretzel martini. I thought the rim was to have crushed pretzels on it and it didn't - fine. There was chocolate swirled on the inside of the glass, I thought. It was all over the outside of the glass so I could only hold the glass by its stem, otherwise get more chocolate all over my hands. I should have complained; but didn't want to make a scene in front of our friends. It was messy. Poor attention to detail. Makes you wonder what else they let slip. I enjoyed my meal though, the grilled salmon was cooked perfectly, the mashed potato leek was good, but a bit cold. The baby green beans were delish!"

  • "My husband and I dined here and the food was consistently good. Our server was very accommodating and it was a nice vibrant crowd. On snowy nights in a city the size of Toledo it is great to be able to make reservations for such a nice place. There aren't many restaurants in this city that take reservations, but Bluewater does. Good move, good food, good service!"

  • "I love the relaxed feel of this place. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was well-timed and friendly. Definitely did not feel rushed. Everyone loved the leek mash potatoes. The Maple Bourbon Salmon was delicious as were the Scallops. We come here every year to celebrate our anniversary."

  • "Was visiting from California with relatives from Toledo and Florida, went to Mancy's Bluewater for the first time. Everyone was equally impressed with the food. Drink menu was excellent as well. It is really hard to find an excellent restaurant in Toledo that is using OpenTable, so finding this near the hotels in Maumee was such a great find. Calamari and steak tips apps were nice portions, everyone loved their entrees including the sea bass which was outstanding. Desserts were all made in house and we tried every one of them! Would recommend to everyone, you will not be disappointed..."

  • "We have had many good dinners at the grille but our last experience was less than favorable. The food had to be sent back twice because it was cold and never came back warm--not good since it wasn;t very busy."

  • "Great looking place, had tuna but did not like it thin sliced, made the meal look cheap! Should have left it thick "chunk" style! Will come back as everything else was outstanding!"

  • "Traveled in from Cleveland for the weekend. We had impeccable service, we were seated promptly with our reservation, and the food was absolutely fabulous. We had a slight issue with our appetizer (claim strips that were a bit soggy) and mentioned it to our waiter. We weren't overly worried about it but within 3 minutes we had a manager at our table. She apologized for the issue, offered a new appetizer order, and removed the cost from our bill. I have to say again that the service was IMPECABLE! A must try - this restaurant has a little of everything. Even if you aren't a seafood fan the chicken and steaks are to die for! The seafood is amazingly fresh and the cocktails are amazing as well. I was highly impressed with our visit!"

  • "Overall it was a great night of food for the meat/fish eaters, but pretty much nothing for a vegetarian. Worse is when you ask for a salad the waitress looks at you funny when you don't want chicken or salmon on it."
    Dined on 2/16/2014
  • "When we arrived it was happy hour although they had no seafood appetizer selections on the happy hour menu. We were also told that we could not start at the bar and then eat our meal at a table, we had to complete our meal at the bar in order to get happy hour prices. We ended up getting a table and ordering the seafood appetizer we wanted that was not on the happy hour menu. However, the calamari appetizer was full of tentacles and tough........not what I would expect at a fine seafood restaurant! The chilean seabass that was recommended was prepared in barbecue sauce and onion straws and hid the flavor of the fish......more appropriate for a burger and not prime seafood! Very disappointed overall and will not return."

  • "This was the first time to Bluewater Grille for my wife & I. We were expecting a nice romantic meal, but we're seated in the bar area and it was very noisy. More like a sports bar than a fine restaurant. I was surprised that with reservations, we weren't sat in the dining area. Next time we want romantic, we'll need to go elsewhere."

  • "Overall our group of six enjoyed our dining experience at Mancy's Blue Water Grill. We were celebrating my sons 21st birthday. He was quite pleased with his calamari, b legs, &his yummy cheesecake. I had the maple salmon which I would highly recommend. The shrimp dish was well liked along with the steak. The only disappointment was the perch and the length of time it took us to get our dessert. However the atmosphere at Mancys Blue Water Grill made the wait bearable."

  • "Great Break for the Winter. Food and Service was great. We were not hurried off and had a great night of food and conversation. First time there in the evening, they seemed very busy for a Tuesday night. We were seated timely and everything was efficient and pleasant with the service."

  • "nice romantic atmosphere, the french onion soup, and the maple bourbon salmon, or the grilled salmon were outstanding. If you love homemade sangria, you would love Mancy's Bluewater Grille. You cannot stop with just one glass. Finally for desert if you love chocolate, you need to order the chocolate flowerless cake. Maddie our server was outstanding. Best server I have ever had. Very friendly and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Enjoy."

  • "We love Mancy's Bluewater. It has a great atmosphere, kind of an upscale, modern decor. The food is great. Whether you order seafood or go with a steak, all the dishes are prepared well and high quality. And its a pretty good value. However, on our latest visit, the service seemed to be a bit below it's usual level. Our server was pleasant and didn't make any big gaffes, just a series of small things. When we asked for a slight special order on our appetizer, she hestitated; drink orders took awhile to be refilled; dirty plates accumulated on the table and had to ask for them to be cleared; husband's steak came without a steak knife, and took awhile for her to bring one. Seems the "B" team was on this night, but we'll go back."
