  • "Our party of 6 was sat when a majority of our party was there. The server greeted us and took drink orders as soon as we sat down. Everything was tasty and my group was pleased with my pick of restaurant. What shocked us the most was when the bill came and we split it equally, (appetizers, cocktails, main course and dinner) it ended up being inexpensive. "

  • "Mancora accommodated a group of 18 for a birthday brunch. Affordable pre-fixe brunch included one drink and amazing, flavorful food. The service was excellent. The place was quieter during brunch but great for our group who felt comfortable and able to enjoy the restaurant. Would 100% go back to try dinner (which had more delicious options)."

  • "I celebrated my birthday here with a party of 9. All of the staff were helpful and attentive without being in our face all the time. The drinks were very good and strong for the low prices. The strawberry mojito and gold margarita are so good. The appetizers were good, especially the grilled octopus and beef heart. Everyone enjoyed their entree (steak, chicken, mussels, paella, ceviche, etc). Although the space is small, they allowed us to dance to the Spanish music in the little floor space that was available. I had flan accompanied by a happy birthday song, which tasted really good. We were also able to split the bill using different credit cards which was nice. Overall I had a great time here and will definitely return soon."

We each asked for substitutions and it was not at all a problem. Each request was met with a "no problem". Fooled arrived in a timely manner. We enjoyed the dining experience."

  • "Unbeknownst to us, it was Salsa Night with lessons and cleared tables for a dance floor. The music was loud and we could barely hear each other without shouting, and service was slow. However, the food was good. The fried pork and beef heart skewers were deliciously prepared. The mixed seafood ceviche was good, but could've been fresher. The roast chicken was good, as were the accompanying sauces. The maduros were very good. Don't get the flan. The flavor was good, but it was ruined by a curdled texture and rubbery skinned top layer. Overcooked."

Quality of food is great and the prices are very reasonable. Place was definitely vibrant and a few large groups there.   • "Went here for Valentine's Day after my girlfriend had been the previous week and raved about the food. We ordered several rounds of margaritas. For an appetizer we had the grilled octopus and seafood cerviche - both were excellent, fresh tasting and addictive. For entrees, my girlfriend had the salmon and spinach mashed potatoes, while I had the paella marinara. The salmon was delicious, while the paella was your typical fare. Next time I would like to try something different - I can't complain about the paella, but it won't end wars in foodie nations. Altogether the most expensive item was the booze (isn't it always?) with the food being in the mid-teens of cost. I highly suggest seeking this place out at least once."

  • "We went on the recommendation of a Peruvian friend. Maybe we caught them on an off night but almost everything was a disappointment. Ceviche was good, but lacked the vibrancy of other ceviche I've had. The rest of the meals were very unremarkable.Overcooked salmon, overcooked steak, overcooked shrimp. A real lack of technique in the kitchen. Anticuchos came out stone cold and a little tough. The key to that dish is the heart is just seared so as not to be chewy. Pisco sour was very good, service was nice and attentive. Just the food was bland and poorly executed. I hope that our experience was a one off and they really are as good as some of the reviews say, but not on our visit."

I don't eat Peruvian much outside being Peruvian myself but when I do its at Mancora. It's always a sure place to bring friends together for good drinks and food.   • "If I were petite and deaf this would be an ideal spot. It's entirely too loud and the tables are crammed together. Mancora should consider taking out a few tables and changing up their music selections. There's so much going on here. It's too crowded to be a bar or dance hall, too loud to be a restaurant, what is it? I'm sure the couple beside me didn't appreciate my rear end in their ceviche as I was trying to get to my seat. Hmmm what else? Service was rushed. I ordered tapas for my date and I and an appetizer as well, our server took it upon himself to take my menu away and assume my order was complete I'll never know how good the mango ceviche was. It looked so yummy too. :("

Very disappointing! One of the main reasons I would go to that restaurant was because of the good food and amazing portions, not sure if I will be returning."

  • "This is my second time dining there and I love the food but it kept coming out luke warm. I don't understand how my plate is coming straight from the kitchen but it's only warm as opposed to hot. The servers are very friendly though and the atmosphere is always pleasant. My suggestion is just to send back your plate if it's not hot enough because there's really no excuse for a luke warm plate when the kitchen is steps away and the venue isn't huge."

I went for my birthday and first I called to let them know I was going to be late, they said if I didn't show up on time I would lose the table, which I found very rude. The female on the phone didn't sound friendly. When I arrived to the place I was happy and excited, but when I was ready to order the waiter was rude and ignored me. When I was trying to get his attention he obviously he did hear me but still ignored me. The people there were not friendly, all rude. I used to come to this place before and I loved it, but now the food has minimized, the fries tasted stale. The steak was tasteless, and the service was very poor and rude!!! I will never come here again."

  • "This was my second time dinning at the restaurant and I have to say that this experience was even better than the first time!!! We came here on New Year's Eve and for the packed restaurant the service was pretty good. I ordered the prefix menu for 35 bucks and everything thing came out in huge portions (the seafood soup was AMAZING) and the beef, chicken, and lamb were so tender that I did not really need to use a knife to cut them. I definitely will make dinning at Mancora a NYE tradition for as long as I'm in NYC."

  • "I had an early dinner with the friend on a Friday, so the place was empty. The staff was attentive and checked in on us regularly. They even heard my friend drop her knife on the floor and rushed right over with a clean one. The food was excellent. We shared two appetizers, grilled octopus and anticucho (cow heart), and each of us got a ceviche. Everything was delicious. The ceviche was everything it's supposed to be - oniony, limey and with lots of avocado that all mixed to create a yummy sort of dressing. I had a maracuya and a traditional pisco sour. Both yummy. The portions were good and the prices reasonable. The only complaint is that there wasn't enough Peruvian green sauce. Seriously, you need a medium-sized bowl of that stuff!"

  • "The place sits on a calm corner. The ambiance and the service was on point. My girlfriend loved the food, but I think it could have been a bit better. I liked the fact they serve human portions of food and not humongous plates that feed like four. The taste was a bit off, a little to plain for my liking, but they catered to all my requests. Don't forget to ask for a side of Huancaina Sauce : ) they will give it to you."
