Diner Reviews
  • "Our dinner was excellent, the service was also and no complaints on the drinks either. I would highly recommend Mama Ricotta's."

  • "Maybe we hit it on a bad night, but my food just wasn't up to par with my past experiences. It's been awhile, I wonder if something changed?"

  • "Despite numerous positive reviews, I never gave serious thought about eating here on a date night because it's located at the end of a strip mall. The food exceeded our expectations. The attire of the patrons was casual business/casual so people were comfortable but we went prior to going uptown for drinks and felt a little overdressed. Very extensive menu and the food was delicious. Servers were knowledgeable and provided the right amount of attention throughout our meal. We are definitely going back and would recommend this to anyone looking for a great Italian meal at a reasonable price."

  • "The food was great and the portions were very large for a Queen's Feast pairing. We both ordered the 4 course special for $30 each. The wine was discounted at 20% based upon if you selected the Queen's Feast menu, which we did. The only real issue was the delay between courses based upon the turnout. The restaurant could have prepared more."

  • "We will definitely be back to Mama Ricotta's! It's about a 45 min drive from our home, but it was absolutely worth it. Every dish was perfectly seasoned and delicious and the service was excellent. They have a very extensive wine list and a full bar. The weather was nice so we sat outside for a quieter experience. The restaurant was full so it was rather noisy inside as you would expect with a packed place. The manager stopped by and chatted with us which was very nice. Definitely a new favorite date night spot for us!"

  • "I brought my teenage children and their friends to Mama Ricotta's and had a great experience. They loved the bread and spiced oil. We had the calamari and the kids split a family sized portion of ravioli and a sausage pizza. Food was delicious. We will be back!!"

  • "This was the third time dining here. The first two times were with work and the food was obnoxious delicious, that was not the case this time. I could barely cut my tiny piece of lasagna that was recommended to me by the server. The penna a la vodka was so spicy my moms eyes watered and the waiter wasn't very attentive or knowledgeable. Dessert was amazing. We had nutella pie and gellato. I would definitely visit again but hope this time was a fluke."

  • "We can always depend on Mama Ricotta's for a great meal. Our group has eaten at this restaurant about 6 or more times this year. We always book for before going to the theater. This meal was as good as it gets! Super salmon and chicken dinners and we like to share. Having our plates prepared in the kitchen is what we expect each time and we are never dissappointed."

  • "Made a reservation for 6 but 12 showed up & they were very accommodating!"

  • "A experienced a delay in delivery at our table of our dinner order. That was unfortunate and the manager expressed his disappointment and urged us to accept desserts, on the house. Very nice."

  • "We love Mama Ricotta's and come here often. The food is the best Italian in the area. We came this time for lasagna month, and they did not disappoint! Food was delicious and we enjoyed a nice Sunday lunch on the patio."

  • "My husband had never been to this restaurant. We both love Italian. He ordered pizza and I ordered the ravioli with meat sauce. Excellent and very tasty food."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "Always enjoy your great food. Our friends with us ordered a margaritta that was pretty bad, even after the re-do of it. Other than that, all was good."
    Dined on 7/4/2014
  • "The food at Mama Ricotta's never disappoints. This time, I asked for dish that was not on the menu and the chef obliged and simply made my evening! We had the lasagna and cacio e pepe. The goat cheese appetizer was to die for (as always). The Mama-tini was refreshingly perfect, however the house margarita was a little watered down....next time will special order it, instead of just getting the house one....Overall great experience and delicious food."

  • "We dined at Mama Ricotta's while traveling. We were out for our daughter's birthday. I found the restaurant from a google search of locally owned establishments. The food was excellent. The portions were large. We had the pasta with vodka sauce, the pasta with broccoli and lemon cream sauce, and pollo Romano. The highlight was the Mama's salad. The family portion was huge, the dressing was incredible, and at $13 it was a great value. The restaurant provided a homemade cannoli complete with a candle for my daughter. This place is phenomenal."

  • "While the food is always delicious , and the service impeccable, the noise level is high. My husband and I had to strain to hear each other talk."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Came back after 3 years to check it out and wasn't disappointed. Pasta dishes were good, as expected, chicken piccata good to excellent, salads okay, sandwiches tasty. Décor is mid 1950's Cleveland or somewhere. It really could use a major overhaul but they probably keep their price reasonably low by not spending money on decorations. It's not a top-notch place but it's a safe choice for a fairly good meal at a fairly reasonable price. You won't impress your new hot date but Aunt Louise will love it."

  • "This is a great place for good family food. Everyone can find something on the menu they like. Some of the pasta dishes can be spicy so make sure you ask about that when you order. The chopped salad is delicious and the wait staff was wonderful. It can be quite noisy which is fine for family dining."

  • "The Tuscan salad is the best! Mama's is my go-to place for out of town friends and family."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "The bread has either been changed or they left in oven too long. Was TOO hard. Need to go back to offering softer bread with this dip--can't appreciate the rich texture of the dip when it's served on a hockey puck."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "The food is always delicious and I look forward to the chef specials....they never disappoint!! Oh, and the Nutella pie is mind blowing!"

  • "Food was great, staff was more than accommodating. I was quite cold and they adjusted the air conditioner. Danny was a terrific server and I felt as though I was welcomed into a private home rather than a restaurant."

  • "Great Italian food located in CLT - affordable prices, great patio, and vibrant indoor space to catch up with friends. Rigatoni was delicious with sweet yet spicy tomato sauce and meat that adds great texture and flavor. Dollop of ricotta is a must! Calamari was delicious - a little on the salty side but add the lemon juice and you won't regret the choice."

  • "My husband and I decided to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary at Mama Ricotta's. I had the special which was grilled swordfish over a bread salad. The fish was beautifully grilled and the salad had slices of fresh tomato. The house Barolo dressing was delicious. My husband's pasta dish was also very good. Try the tiramisu, they give you a huge portion."

  • "The server came over with an attitude that got worse throughout the meal. She barely greeted us when we sat down, she got us our drinks and when asked what the specials were she didn't know and had to go ask. When she came back to tell us about the specials, she seemed to be annoyed that we even asked. We ordered appetizers and the calamari was outstanding and I highly recommend it! She snapped at us when asked if salads came with the entrees. A simple "no" would of been appreciated. As we were half way through our appetizers when our entrees were brought out. It wasn't busy but we all felt rushed. If I wanted fast food I would of went to McDonald's. We spent over $100.00 on this meal and left unhappy. Food was delicious!!"

  • "Mama Ricotta's is one of the best restaurants in the city. The staff is extremely attentive and knowledgeable, and the food is simply amazing. My family and I eat here at least once a month and we are never disappointed."

  • "Never a bad experience here. Consistent and smart menu."

  • "Delicious Burrata(amazing mozzarella and bread) is a must. All four entres ordered were excellent: shrimp and crab risotto, salmon arrostiti, Amma's cheese ravioli (just like grandma used to make), and chicken Parmesan. Two in our party are Italian and commented everything we tried was really tasty, even the Tiramisu! Server Daniel was spot on with wine and food recommendations as well as service. Love the decor renovation. With wooden wine crate wall, Italian photographs, subway tiles and upscale lighting, I thought I was in NYC! Great evening!"

  • "Mama Ricotta's is one of my wife's favorite restaurants so naturally I wanted to spoil her with a nice meal out. As always I was impressed how quickly we were seated for our 7:15 reservation. The place was hopping and the entire staff was in sync like a finely tuned NASCAR engine. The meal was out of this world and our waitress was wonderful. Can't wait for Father's Day as I'll leave a few subtle (well maybe not too subtle) that a return trip would be much appreciated. :-) "

  • "Perfect Italian brunch with a good mix of seafood. Pasta dishes. Motz salads and carving station if you want the traditional meats. Everything was prepared fresh and could accommodate the large crowds as it was very popular. Recommend reservations as they do honor them on a timely basis. Procecco was nice. (Italian version of champagne) desert bar was awesome with unique items you don't normally see at other cuisines. "

  • "Awesome dinner with Danny as our host/waiter. He does a marvelous job of making you feel comfortable. He takes ownership of the menu and makes great recommendations for wine pairings. My wife, mother-in-law and kids enjoyed the evening. If you ever want more food than you can handle in one setting order the Chicken "Parm". My wife loves the Penne al la Vodka and I enjoyed the turkey prosciutto meatballs with my spaghetti. The kids loved the pizza. We "found" Mama's when it initially opened further up King. We love it each time we return."

  • "My husband took me there to celebrate Mothers Day and I really was excited to come only to be ignored the entire time. Alex the buzz boy was really nice and helped us the entire time. We found out that Amanda was our server but we only saw her 30 sec, she never introduced herself, nor offered us bread like the table next to us. We had 2 other gentleman drop off food and dessert and then we were left hanging at the end. We had to bring our own bill to the front to pay and didnt know who to tip. We tipped Alex since he helped us. We asked to talk to a mgr and the girl who claimed to be it, seemed uninterested & ignorant about customer service. We felt discriminated and ignored. Definitely not coming back"

  • "I love Mama Ricottas. It it's my "go to" place with good food and great service. However on a Friday night, the noise level was so loud I could not even hear the person across the table from me. What should have been a fun evening with friends turned out to be a miserable experience. They definitely need to do something about the acoustics."
