A word from Maloney & Porcelli
Maloney & Porcelli is a clubby new American restaurant that draws inspiration from a simpler time when three martini lunches were alive and well, steak was for dinner, and servers anticipated guests’ every need, even completing dishes tableside. Begin meals at Maloney & Porcelli with a selection of shellfish, salads or favorites such as Baked Clams Orsini, Peekytoe Crabcake, or Steak Tartare that is finished tableside. For the main course, there is a choice of steaks and shanks, including the famed Crackling Pork Shank with Firecracker Applesauce, lobsters and composed options such as Chicken Under a Brick, Pan-Seared Atlantic Salmon, or Beef Shortrib Stroganoff. An array of inventive sides complete the meal, like Gruyere Soufflé, Fried Herb Tater Tots, Broccoli and Pimento Cheese. The desserts inspire nostalgia with a individual red velvet cake served, grasshopper pie for two, and a selection of house-made sorbets, sherbets and ice creams. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Amazing service and the waiter was great explaining the menu."

  • "This was a great quality choice for an American steakhouse. Service was professional and knowledgeable with the menu. The Peekytoe crab cake is a flavorful and great tasting appetizer. My Birthday celebrant had the classic filet mignon and I had the pan-seared Atlantic Salmon which was both cooked to perfection as ordered. Our meal was balanced with a refreshing five leaf house salad enough for two people. Let me say this about the desserts...after we had the wood oven apple tart, I couldn't help myself to add an order of Almond Joy Ice cream. This made my trip from California worthy of a definite restaurant recommendation!"

  • "Definitely one of my new favorite places! From the food to the decor to the extraordinary service. This place has got it all. I must come back to check out Unlimited Wine special. Fourth Wall gets it right with all of their concepts!"

  • "The wine dinner includes their choice of a bubbly, white and red- unlimited until dessert. All very drinkable. Have been many times and food service wines always excellent. One of us had multiple food allergies and they were very accommodating. It serves meats seafoods n lovely vegetables and salads in generous proportions.Go hungry, you will not be disappointed! Though always busy n a bit loud you can talk easily at your table. This is to say not for a quiet getaway but overall a fun delicious experience."

  • "Was in NY on business for 4 days, and enjoyed Maloney & Porcelli two times (for dinner and lunch). Both dining experiences were outstanding. All of the food ordered at our table was excellent with regard to presentation and taste? The latter being the most improtant to me. I would definately recommend that everyone try it once. You will come back!"

  • "I had an absolute blast - Daniel the bartender, took great care of me and Kevin, the manager was fabulous. The steak was thick, juicy and luxurious. The fish, incredibly fresh and the wine list was a ton of fun. Th bartenders certainly take care of you at the bar too! Ill be back for sure."

  • "Amazing atmosphere, amazing food, amazing wine selection."

  • "A consistently great steakhouse with a great value/deal on weekend nights. There are certainly more expensive options in midtown, but for this level of quality steak combined with sparkling, white, and red wines to have with the appetizer & steak, it is a top ranked spot in my book from a value proposition."

  • "Excellent service. Excellent food. Filet cooked to perfection. Great side dishes. Will return on my next trip to New York."

  • "It is often difficult to find a true value in NYC but M&P fit the bill. Excellent food, service, and ambiance and certainly a bargain for Wine Week specials. Outstanding!"

  • "We had dinner on 16/03. The food was brilliant, one of the best steaks I've ever had and the waiters were very attentive. However it was marred by the fact it was really cold, we felt like we were sitting in a draught all evening. My partner pointed this out to the door staff when he had to get my scarf back from the coat store mid meal so I could wrap it round me. The door staff frankly looked like they couldn't care less and did nothing about it at all. The lady at the next table also wrapped her scarf around her. It was a shame as it spoilt what could have been a much nicer experience."

  • "I can pig out everytime I visit M&P, eating the fabulous cracklin' pork shank with fire cracker apple sauce. The crab cakes aren't bad either! Wine Week is always a great incentive to walk from Times Square to M&P for lunch. The service was superb!"

  • "We went for NYC wine week and had a fabulous meal and a very enjoyable assortment of wines. Highly recommended!"

  • "Met a Business associate for dinner on a Monday evening. We were seated on time per the reservation at a table that easily allowed us to have business discussions. Service was quick without hovering, not at all intrusive. Food was exactly as ordered, overall excellent. Great value. Highly recommend!"

  • "heard the pork shank was great and looked forward to tasting it. what came out was a monstrosity of almost inedible, deep fried, over cooked junk. one of the worst meals i ever had a supposedly great restaurant. oh, the clams casino weren't clams casino at all but more deep fried junk. in a word-terrible."

  • "Some restaurants are rumored to skimp on their offerings during Restaurant Week. Not Maloney & Porcelli. The portions were huge and worth every single bite. The crab cake was full of crab meat and very flavorful. The filet mignon was done perfectly (I asked for medium rare) and didn't need any steak sauce, although the house-made steak sauce was tasty as well. And the salted caramel ice cream with coffee streusel was so good! Too bad we were stuffed to the brim by then and could only manage a few bites before we called it a day. All in all, well worth the trip and I definitely will be coming back for special occasions."

  • "Excellent quality steak with perfect char. Very slightly overdone but superb taste. Extensive wine selection to fit most budgets. Very flavorful appetizer and dessert options"

  • "Service was slow and unsophisticated. Food was good. Interior is outdated and shabby. Again, steak was very delicious."
    Dined on 2/28/2014
  • "Table near front door was cold, drafty. Waiter did not check in with us after food was served. One of the steaks ordered medium was well done. Sat for a long time after the meal was done waiting for check, finally had to ask for it, at no time were we asked if we wanted an after dinner drink, ect. Better service would have made our experience better and the bill larger."

  • "The decor is very rustic, wood like 1930s ambiance. Business men all around us having dinner. Service was good but not so warm, getting us in and out kind of thing but respectful. The food was excellent and especially the toffee pudding dessert. Outrageously amazingly good! Overall we had a good experience but I don't think I'd come again as it was also nothing so special."

  • "This place is nice and cozy & the food is good. My only drawbacks were the fact that we were stuffed at a table upstairs next to the waiter's station so every time a waiter had to check their computer we were bumped & anything that they may have been carrying was at risk to fall on us or our table. This cramped space is also to blame for our waiter spilling about a cup of wine on my blazer. He was very apologetic, and offered me club soda, but my blazer was soaked. I think this could have been avoided if my request to be moved to a different table was honored. I know accidents happen, but this one could have been avoided."

  • "Maloney & Porcelli has long been on my short list of reliable restaurants in midtown manhattan bp for business dinners - better for groups than for 1x1 because of the 'volume' of the restaurant in my view. Food is great, restaurant is lively and service is excellent."

  • "This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but last time I was there, I was actually embarrassed that I had recommended it to my out of town friends! I had told them how much I loved the robbiola and truffle pizza which, while not on the menu, was quite often available . When we inquired, the waiter told us quite emphatically that they had never had such A pizza, and I must be confusing this with another restaurant. (Not true, and very embarrassing!) none of our meat came out the temperatures ordered. The medium well was so rare that it took a half hour to re-fire. By the time it came, everyone else at the table had finished dinner! The waiter never apologized. The food was not the quality I have enjoyed in the past here."

  • "I don't normally write reviews , and don't normally polish off every course. The food was amazing ! The bottomless wine pairings were also great and I want to go back so I can enjoy the whole ordeal without having to worry about driving home! I was only able to take sips if each pairing offered. The server was very nice as well. Overall a positive experience"

  • "Met friends for light dinner and drinks. Good wine list to choose from (bottles) and good food. Service is to be commended; wonderful attention paid despite it being valentines day. No detraction from food, service or overall experience - this is unusual and I am happy to report it."

  • "Amazing food with an "old-school" ambiance. The type of place my grandfather would love (and I mean that in a good way, it's defiantly not "old"). The service is great, very professional and the food is unbelievable. The Pork Shank and Angry Lobster are my favorites (ask them to explain as they'll do a much better job than I will). Both dishes were way more than I could eat in one sitting. I've never been full on Lobster alone, but the Angry Lobster dish had enough meet to fill an empty stomach. On weekends, they have a $79 all you can drink deal that includes an appetizer, entree, and desert. Great deal, great place."
