They should advertise their show a little bit more.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOff night at a great restaurantWe love Malaga and have been many times - this time happened to be an off night with a couple overcooked dishes (beef tenderloin and pork loin/pancetta) but as any great restaurant can do, they overcame those rare missteps and on the whole it was a fun night with good food and terrific service from Josh and Chase (who was apparently training but you'd never know it!) My favorites were the lamb (very delicate) and fried goat cheese balls with the lavender honey (Yumm)! Our out of town guests really enjoyed the whole experience. Busy or slow it is consistently good food. We enjoy coming here with friends and letting everyone order a dish & then we share. It is fun to see what items your friends find to try. I love the little pork bites and my absolute favorite is the flatbread with the ham!! So delicious!! I do not speak spanish & usually point to the menu or totally butcher the name to the waiter but they are always polite & helpful!! It can be loud sometimes so if weather permits & we would prefer to be able to have a conversation with our friends we try to sit outside. The food was fairly good until you added the provided sauces,, that kicked them all up several notches. We especially liked any seafood item. My only complaint would be that we are always in a twosome and seated next to the bar area which is extremely noisy--which doesn't make for a very romantic or intimate "date night" for the hubby and I. I already know the restaurant well and I expect it to be noisy to begin with, but it would be nice to be seated away from the bar in the interior part of the restaurant away from the "hubub" and loud giggling men and women of the bar who have probably had one too many if you get my drift. However, the server and the food were amazing and for that I was a happy diner. I love the spinach empanadas and the delicious tomato dipping sauce with a hint of cinnamon! I am always surprised that it is not more busy as the quality of the Tapas is quite good, the drink selection is also good and the service is generally spot on. The ambience is nice-informal. It is a good date location.
I have found it to be on the pricey side, although the food served has never disappointed.
