Malabar American CookingAlways great food, good serviceHave dined at Malabar many times and never disappointed. Most recently took my entire family for a graduation dinner. Reservation was ready at the appointed time despite restaurant obviously being full. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and Sherry our server handled the large group (ages 16-80) very well. Reasonable prices too. Total tab with pre-added in tip for large group was about $270, including liquor. I went with a larger group with a couple of kids, the service was excellent, and the food was very good. Had a bit of a miscue with the cooking of a pork chop, but that was quickly taken care of at no expense and a couple free beers. The desert selections were also extremely good. Tables were set adequately apart to avoid crowding. Service was superior and prompt. Two of the group had pulled pork sandwiches and garlic mashed potatoes which they enjoyed. The soup and sandwich combo was just fair. Tortilla soup was watery and tortillas already soggy on arrival. The tuna melt with avocado didn't have a lot of flavor although it was to be on parmesan bread. Ranch dressing for the fries was OK, but not a great flavor. Prices were reasonable for lunch.
