MakotoOver the top Asian food.We adore this Asian gem though prices are more New York than one might expect. The sushi is fresh and all menu items have highest quality ingredients. The chicken salad, tuna tartare and salmon filet are outstanding. Short ribs are a must. Sampling a number of items is the way to go so take a group. The outdoor patio is lovely when there's a breeze or cooler temperatures. I have been to Makoto a few times and can't get enough of the delicious menu and atmosphere. Must try and the service is flawless. THe menu offers a good variety of options. The only thing is that it can get quite expensive... be ready. Very nice surprise for my wife and I, since we thought it would be a commercial sushi spot. Quite the opposite!!! it was a real Japanese restaurant with a complete variety of excellent food. The sea bass is really special as well as the non traditional sushi sampler.
The only thing to improve is the speed of the service. We had to request many times to have the water brought to our table. Our server was great at helping us pick what to order, although we wanted to try so many things that we ended up over-ordering. The robata dishes were amazing as was the sushi.
