Makana Terrace - St. Regis - HawaiiFantastic sunset view on TerraceFantastic sunset view on Terrace overlooking the Hanalei Bay below, and secluded, quiet and food excellent, although somewhat on the expensive side, so in Kauai everything seems overpriced. Won't be disappointed5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing! On anniversary trip to Kauai- just an amazing experience!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favorite placesOne of our favorite places for a "special occasion" dinner while in Kauai. The view is beautiful even on a cloudy evening. Food was outstanding.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a view! BRUNCH is worth it!What a view! What a great brunch, too. Worth every penny. =)4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWho cares what you eat whenWho cares what you eat when you have such a view?
Ok, decent & overpriced food with the best views on Earth.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBest View on the island ofBest View on the island of Kauai! Hotel is situated in Princeville overlooking Hanalei Bay. It appears every seat in the restaurant has an equally great view. Service was impeccable and the food was very good. Great place to go for that "special" evening with someone special.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat view and food, sub-par waiterFood and view were great, but waiter was sub-par. We had a great view of the sunset next to an infinity pond water feature. We placed our drink and meal order. Then we waited....the bread was delivered by a runner, then 15 minutes later the salads arrived via another runner. We saw our waiter fawning over another table on the other side of the restaurant. We finally got his attention and asked about our drink order. We had finished the salads and the sun had set by the time our drinks arrived (25+ minutes later). Our main course arrived and the food was warm, not hot, as if it was sitting around. Had the waiter take it back and asked for hot food.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic overtones! This venue offers outstanding views of Makana Mountain and the glorious sunset if you are there in the evening. Hanalei Bay stretches out in front of you and the gentle sounds of waves coursing to shore provides a soothing background. The menu is influenced by Japanese cuisine with a variety of excellent sushi type selections. We chose two as appetizers and were very pleased. The rest of the menu gives choices from the surf and the turf. My opakapaka was served steamed on rice with a delightful sauce. Lori chose a scallop appetizer for her main course and found it superlatively prepared with tender scallops and an intriguing fruit based sauce. Desert was a crumble that was pure delight. Overall, a very good experience. Valet parking.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA must on KauaiWonderful atmosphere, great food and fantastic service. A terrific end to our vacation.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AM
