MajolicaOur party of six had a greatOur party of six had a great time, but most of all the food was different with wonderful flavor. The service was outstanding.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA feast for the sensesWe do not stray far from the tasting menu- always a surprise & a delight. Each plate comes out beautifully composed, a piece of art. It is tough to take photos as the dish is almost always half consumed before I remember to take a photo. The dishes are just as delicious as they are beautiful. A sampling of some of the dishes we had- tuna carpaccio with horseradish cream, tobiko and nasturtium leaves, green pea soup with house made sour cream, rosemary and crispy proscuitto, papperdelle with lump crab meat and uni butter, farm fresh egg with truffle butter, maitake mushroom and asparagus shavings, halibut with israeli couscous, olive and tomato salad and pesto, and the finale, goat cheese sorbet with poached apricot & berries.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat BYOB - unique food,Great BYOB - unique food, well prepared and frequently changing menu. Love this place!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMCannot wait to return!!This was our first dinner at Majolica and it surpassed all of our expectations. My husband and I enjoyed one of the best meals we have had in years....what an exceptional place! The creative attention to detail by the chef and the emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients were really appreciated. This, combined with a server who was very knowledgeable about the various dishes and attentive to our needs made for a great evening. We cannot wait to return.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe last time we went to MajolicaThe last time we went to Majolica the service was so slow and we took a break from attending. This experience was delightful. Great menu.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSoft shell crab - not to be missedSoft shell Crab was outstanding !
Lamb loin cooked to perfection !
One of the best visits to Majolica.
Did not feel rushed. Dined for 2hrs. 45 minutes4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely Phoenixville GemThe restaurant is sure a Phoenixville Gem. We had never heard of it before. My wife and I were given a gift certificate there for Christmas. We went and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It is not the cheapest place but worth every penny. It is a great place for a birthday, anniversary or any special romantic dinner. My wife is in a wheelchair and that was no issue. I let them know ahead of time and they had a lovely table all ready for us. They did not make her seem like a second class citizen. Lastly but not least, all the wait staff was great and very knowledgeable. This is over our price range but well worth it and we will be back soon. Please come enjoy this gem and remember to bring your favorite bottle of wine.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have eaten at MajolicaWe have eaten at Majolica many times, and it NEVER disappoints. Excellent food, as usual. The salmon pastrami appetizer was memorable!!! Thanks for making a special night out even better.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to Majolica for firstWent to Majolica for first time, taking my girlfriend for her birthday dinner. We enjoyed the 8 course tasting menu and had quite the variety of different foods! Our favorites included the chocolate banana crepes for dessert as well as sushi style tuna with caviar. Duck and lamb selections were also nicely presented and very delicious! Definitely left very satisfied and very stuffed! It was a night we will remember for a long time.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a suburban resturant.Great for a suburban resturant. Food is very good and great service.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMContinues to deliver a greatContinues to deliver a great culinary experience. Cured salmon appetizer and grilled skatewing were delicious. My wife had the duck and our friends had the mackerel. All recommends. The amuse bouche of tuna tartare with truffle oil was perfect and the cucumber sorbet over olive oil with tarragon was a clever idea.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAndrew Deery continues toAndrew Deery continues to amaze us with his ability to combine flavors in different and delicious ways. His food is consistently beautiful and amazingly good.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding dinner ! SeveralOutstanding dinner ! Several extras were bought to our table as well.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMConcistently outsdandingAnother incredible meal at Majolica. This restaurant delivers every time! One of my favorites.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMMmmmmajolica!Overall good experience. Food interesting. Service friendly. Took a little long to get main course even after friends joined us. Great for people with no time limit. A little echo-ey and noisy once it filled up. I would recommend acoustic panels to absorb some of the sound. BYOB is always good. A quick hello from the chef would be perfect. This is not your average menu. It's slightly adventurous and fun. I think it's a great place to go and surprise a guest/date. Not for the thrifty shopper, but it is different and an experience, not just a meal. Try it!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFood great! For all three courses the food was excellent and showed care in the preparation. Definitely an expert hand.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat's with the lack of bread? The food at Majolica is always wonderful, especially appreciated by cooks/foodies like we are. Our only complaint - and one we have voiced repeatedly to no avail, is that they are incredibly stingy with the bread. Andrew's team makes a fabulous foccacia - but you practically have to beg to get one piece, let alone a second one. And the teaspoon of olive oil that comes in a thimble is even more sad. We only eat bread once a week - and sadly this is a big negative for us. If you are a bread lover - this is probably something you should know ahead to avoid the disappointment.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding in every way,Outstanding in every way, from beginning to end. A new favorite place, one we'll revisit again and again. If you haven't tried Majolica yet, you're missing something.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMStill one of the best! One of the best restaurants around. Been a patron since opened - 8 years ago. Make it tradition to celebrate special occasion here. The Chef is always gracious, flexible, talented. Chef Deery has that extra panache without pretension. Goes above & beyond. Makes dining an event - not just dinner. He procures local, fresh ingredients - conscious about where food comes from and presenting it to the patron. The ambiance is elegant without being obnoxious. It's simply lovely. The food is clearly always one of the best meals I have eaten. Again, it's a wonderful event. It's luxurious. The serving staff are always terrific - balancing tending to your needs without being over or underbearing. Chef Deery changes the menu often - fresh!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe chef was on his game. The chef was on his game. The old issue with portion size is gone. We enjoyed the mixed olives, chicken livers and pastrami salmon for starters. My skate entree was moist and flavorable. Our table was in a corner in the rear of the restaurant where there was plenty of room and the noise level was acceptable. Seating by the kitchen is still crowded and noisy. Will definitely be returning.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFor the timid or adventurous palateA place like Majolica shouldn't be in Phoenixville, but thank God it is.
As usual, Andrew Deery's eclectic menu has something for everyone. I ate the Fried white sweet potato dish and it was outstanding. I don't particularly care for mushrooms, but these weren't your ordinary mushrooms with the sweet potato. The dessert was superb. And truth be told, I chose what I would eat for a meal based on dessert. The molten chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream was better than I expected.
It really is worth the hassle of trying to find parking in Phoenixville!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently outstanding!Chef Andrew and his staff continue to offer an exceptional dining experience. Easily my favorite restaurant in the suburbs. If the foie gras is on the menu when you visit give it a try, it is amazing!2/1/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't wait to go backWe had not been to Majolica for a long time and decided to try it again. We're very happy we did. The egg in a frame appetizer was delicious, short ribs were tender and perfect, and the pinenut cake with rosemary ice cream has me dreaming of our next dinner there. The service was friendly, attentive and thorough. We highly recommend Majolica for a creative, unpretentious, delicious dinner.1/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
