Maison - LancasterUnique and AmazingMaison was the best place I have been to dinner in a long time. Quaint and lovely atmosphere. Food was fresh and amazing. Menu changes every day and 70% of the food is local. It is a tiny place - only 10 tables so reservations are a must and it is BYOB which are good things to know.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great dining experienceOnce again, we returned to Maison to enjoy a fantastic meal. We ask the chef to surprise us and to no surprise, we were delighted with the selection of dishes. Maison continues to be our favorite restaurant in Lancaster.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMRick & Pam ReviewThe restaurant is not easily noticeable from the road. The dining room is small and a bit cramped but the decor is nice. The food was excellent and the service fantastic! We will be back and will recommend this restaurant to others.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic date nightWe celebrated our anniversary at Ma(i)son. It was a sweet, intimate place. We arrived to town early for a pre dinner cocktail elsewhere, and were able to leave our chilled wine with the hostess for cool safekeeping until our reservation. Dinner was fantastic-fresh foods, beautifully presented. Both our meals were delicious. Everything was simple and elegant. The flavors were excellent and not overdone. We sat by the wall, which helped with noise levels and a sense of privacy (it's a small, close dining room).5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best part of this restaurantThe best part of this restaurant (for me) is the constantly changing menu. No matter what is served, it is always excellent so you can be adventurous in trying new things without any fear for the taste. The staff is very knowledeable of all items on the menu and can assure you of the rewards that await when you try that something new. This is not the restaurant for you if you plan to always have the same thing when you come back and you will want to come back!!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe very much enjoyed the smallWe very much enjoyed the small and large plates cooked with care and very flavorful. The meal made our evening most enjoyable.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat mealThis is a restaurant you would expect to find in France. From the daily menu marché to the extremely fresh ingredients, I couldn't ask for more. We had a party of 7 people ages ranging from 9 to 82, and the restaurant did not fail to satisfy. Don't miss this one when you are in Lancaster. Here it is all about the food. Bon appétit5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time at Maison, smallFirst time at Maison, small seasonal rotating menu offering local fresh produce. Dishes are uniquely and freshly prepared. However menu is very limited. Four-five appies, 2 salads, 5 Dinner entree options. I had the chicken which was very yummy and my husband had the fish. It was a very very small entree. Be prepared to order an appie, salad and entree per person, otherwise you will leave hungry. The desserts are also made in house and small but delish! Byo. No rush to go back again but will likely visit again. Service is a little on the slow side but knowledgeable and friendly.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce again we had a fantasticOnce again we had a fantastic dinner at Maison. One of our favorite restaurants in Lancaster!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe new "it" spot in LancasterSo many restaurants preach "farm to table", but few of them achieve it. My wife and I are foodies, agressive with desire to try the most sensational food we can find. This is no easy task in Central PA. Ma(i)son delivers in spades. We were spending Memorial Day weekend in Lancaster and needed to find a place to dine before a show. A quick facebook search directed us to Ma(i)son's website and we were instantly hooked. I quickly made our reservation. Our meal was beyond incredible. Chef Taylor's acute understanding of flavor & texture left us breathless & wanting more. The atmosphere (think fine-dining, with jeans & flip flops) played tribute to their farm-fresh attitude. Very few make the grade, but we give it 10 out of 10 stars. Go now!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWasn't impressed this timeI have dined at Ma(I)son on a few occasions, and this was the first time I was disappointed. That opinion is solely based on the entree that I ordered. Striped Bass. The preparation left much to be desired, and the portion size....I mean, I'm see to smaller plates, but this was almost comical. I will dine there again, but I guess I'm no longer as confident as I once was that no matter what I order, it'll be amazing.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently SpectacularMa(i)son-farm to table. Taylor & Leeann are serious in their search for top quality farmers and suppliers. Service excels here. Never has there been an item on the menu that I wouldn't love. Which reminds me that, on my next visit, I'm just going to let the chef decide what to feed me!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time atThis was our first time at Maison and we were not disappointed at all. Our only complaint is that with a rotating menu we will never be able to try every dish that you serve. Maison has has some of the best and most innovative food to be found in Lancaster.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to Maison on ThursdayWent to Maison on Thursday night with a late reservation. Took our daughter and husband visiting from Seattle who are real foodies. Server recommended that we let the chef cook for us. What a treat! Awesome dinner that we will always remember!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good farm to table, upscaleVery good farm to table, upscale cuisine and presentation with a limited menu.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMPassion From WithinFrom the moment you walk in and see the fresh jarred items on the shelf, to the French style decor, and the simplistic, yet stylish tables, you can tell your in a place that’s all about the food.
The servers and owner rotate throughout and explain how they grow their own veg, and herbs, and source everything locally. They go on to detail even the tiniest detail of the items on the menu, and not only ingredients, but also the taste and essence of the dish.
You are never left wondering what to expect from the dish.......ahh the dish. The food is spectacular in every way; Presentation, Color, and of course Taste.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved our night out! Service,Loved our night out! Service, food so wonderful! We will be back soon!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMLawrence WelkThe organ music was old fashioned. Lawrence Welk would have loved it.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place!Their food is awesome and they partner with a local farm to receive almost all of their produce to cook from what is in season for a farm-to-table experience. HIGHLY recommend! I love small restaurants like this where a chef obviously takes pride in their restaurant and creates excellent dishes. They have a small menu because of their focus on farm-to-table in-season cooking, but everything I have ever had here was superb. Seating is also small and you sit closely to everyone else, so depending on your ability to tune others out you may be bothered by that a bit; my wife does not mind at all and always requests that I take her back. This has become our local favorite--great place for foodies searching for a fantastic place to be "theirs"!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFour of us enjoyed our mealFour of us enjoyed our meal in this small, very casual spot in downtown Lancaster BYOB. The menu is short and eclectic and the food was very good. We shared appetizer specials, stuffed peppers and the other was nicely sauced large shrimp. Our entrees were the bass and a pasta with sausage special. Service was prompt and friendly. A keeper!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMCompetes with the nation's best! And wins! Go Maison go! Thanks for yet another brag-worthy meal!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great meal at MaisonI have had more great meals at this restaurant than I could count. For a real treat, ask the chef to surprise you with special selections and enjoy an impromptu tasting menu.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food at Maison is excellent. The food at Maison is excellent. The chef makes some very unique and delicious dishes, all fit for a foodie. It's by far the best restaurant in Lancaster.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is imaginative, forThe food is imaginative, for sure, a little too far out there in some cases. We did get flavor, and quality which are two big items. I got the impression that the menus are made up for the benefit of the cooks' quest for creativity and indivciduality and not for the benefit of the diners. We diners want creative, yes, but we also want to EAT. That means quality indredients that we can sink our teeth into. Nettles and pasta did NOT fulfill that criteria. The crispy chicken was outstanding, according to my criteria. Overall, though, I will give it another try.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time to Ma(i)son andSecond time to Ma(i)son and it did not disappoint. This is exactly what Lancaster needs and the local dining community deserves. Can't miss items include the burratta cheese plate and the pasta. It doesn't matter how its served or what it's accompanied by, just order it!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI can’t say enough about thisI can’t say enough about this restaurant, the staff or owners. Everyone goes out of his/her way to create a special dining experience for you. We dined here a few days ago (4/6/2013) because I wanted to be sure I had one of the dishes on the “Winter” menu and I was afraid that it soon would be gone. Now, my opinoin is just that. I eat out often and am attracted to French/Italian cooking styles. Maison speaks to the Intalian coutry cooking that is my favorite. Every flavor is perfectly layered. Don’t go here if you are looking for a themed-dining experience with epic-sized portions. There are plenty of chain restaurants where “they’ll treat you like family,” or “make it your way.” You won’t get that here—don’t even come looking for i4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMNot a large menu but all choicesNot a large menu but all choices hit their mark. Squid with beans was the surprise hit of the table. There are not a lot of tables but it was comfortable, slightly loud but not annoying. I brought my mother for her 87th birthday and when she looked at the menu, she was not sure what to order since it the descriptions were not her normal fare, so I just ordered several plates to eat family style and she loved (and devoured) each dish.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMService was amazing from Lee,Service was amazing from Lee, our food was creative and amazing. We will definitely be coming back!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother fantastic dinner fromAnother fantastic dinner from Taylor and the great chefs! The pork and duck sausage dish was off the chart, as was the squid and bean first course.
This is absolutely the best resturant in Central PA, bar none.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't wait. Go. Now.Ma(i)son came highly recommended and did not disappoint.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMBring your own wine. TheyBring your own wine. They don't have a liquor license.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThis has got to be one ofThis has got to be one of the best places in Lancaster. Not somewhere I would go every evening, but it's almost like a fun little get-away for locals. And visitors should consider this a must-dine while in town.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMa(i)son ReviewThe menu at Ma(i)son is unique and we truly enjoyed the flavors and textures of all the delectable delights we sampled. Our group of 4 shared some wonderful appetizers & desserts. For entrees, my husband had the Rosemary Rabbit Ragu and I had the Beef Cheeks. The "cheeks" were slow-cooked in a delicious mushroom sauce and they melted in my mouth. The restaurant is located in a small old renovated building. Space is tight and it can be a bit noisy when crowded but we found it really charming, quaint, and special. The proprietors are friendly, the service was great, and this young couple is doing a great job of offering a "farm" to table venue.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best meals we haveOne of the best meals we have had in a while
this is not an elegant restaurant but the food was interesting and delicioius

From the warm decor to the absolutely mouth watering appetizer and wonderful entree, Maison impressed. Our waiter was
attentive and described each dish we questioned in detail and when we asked for a suggestion he did not disappoint. Maison
will definitely be on our list to try again on a future trip.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a treat. We love bringingAlways a treat. We love bringing friends to Maison who have not had the pleasure to experience dinner there.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
