Chef Martinez has incredible credentials, working with some legendary French chefs - and his technique and presentation reflect his experience. Each item is meticulously prepared, and the service is what you would expect from a high-end restaurant - and we especially enjoy the hospitality of Chef Martinez's wife Victoria. We selected some of the chef's specials: octopus, fois gras and risotto (appetizers), and the most amazing piece of beef - a roasted, bone-in chateaubriand. The beef was moist and silky, with a deep rich flavor. We selected a 2008 Staglin cabernet sauvignon - a very hard to get bottle. It was a bottle to remember forever."

  • "My wife and I shared a special occasion. We had heard little of Maison Blanche, but is one of our friends favorite. I can understand why he is so impressed. We decided to use the Prix Fixe Menu. There were many different choices, but you are also allowed to take any plate of the a la carte menu. Each dish was excellently prepared and presented. The mine that we paired was from a well known vintner and moderately priced. Our server was expert on the dishes, knowing the dishes and preparation. I would highly recommend Maison Blanche for a special occasion. The only drawback was the ambiance that has very tasteful décor, but is muted with a white drapery surrounding the room. This was not a big deal, but I would enjoy a Gulf view."

  • "We travel to Longboat at least 3 times a year and we are always game to try something new. This was our first visit and we thought the food was very good, portions were small but reasonable but overpriced. The two of us ordered one starter to split, a fish entree and we each had 2 drinks. Our bill was over 160.00. There is no view as you are eating surrounded by white sheets with no windows. I don't want to sound harsh but for the price, there are better locations to choose from on longboat key. We will most likely never return unless there is a special event."

  • "My wife and I are semi-regulars at Maison, meaning we go there everytime we get to our place on Longboat Key. Maison is a very small, intimate space with no view outside - the focus is inside, and rightly so. The food is wonderful - I've had nothing I wouldn't recommend, but am very partial to Chef Martinez' black truffle risotto, cochon du lait (suckling pig) and simply, chocolat - a molten chocolate cake dessert. My wife loves the roasted ribeye steak, USDA prime and cooked to perfection with a mustard peppercorn sauce. Chef uses 80% or more organic ingredients locally from Florida. He had one Michelin Star in France. Emeril recently taped an interview and show with Chef Martinez that was picked up by Food Channel to air this fall."

We discovered this upscale spot several years ago and are loyal patrons to date. One feels comfortable and relaxed being surrounded by elegance, yet simplistic, modern design and décor within the dining areas. The attention to detail by every staff member during service, is well beyond one's expectation. Every entrée brought from the Chef's kitchen to the table is a model of perfection and a delight to the palate. I won't spoil the fun by revealing the menu items. It's something one must experience for themselves. It's well worth the short drive onto Longboat Key. Respectfully, Ben & Pat"

  • "Typical rude French wait staff, but I encourage you to endure it for the cook-to-order exceptional food. Each amazing dish had an equally outstanding sauce. Portions are small as expected so be sure to order your own appetizer and share with the table. Overall great experience and I will be returning. The only weird thing is when you are celebrating a birthday, they turn up music and disrupt the entire restaurant. Kind of like a high-end TGI Friday's. LOL"

Own entrance but location was initially a turn off until we got inside then all was good. If you are looking to celebrate a special occassion or want a romantic date. This is the place!"

The tomato tart appetizer and apple tart dessert (served with an apple sorbet) are both favorites. My husband's grouper or snapper was delicious. My pasta with lobster and shrimp in a lobster bisque sauce was good. The lobster pieces were tough, the only small disappointment in a very lovely evening. The wait staff is outstanding."

  • "Maison Blanche is an example of the good life. We selected the Prixe Fixe menue consisting of a starter, entrée subbstituting a mesclun salad fordessert. The Foie Gras terrine was smooth and full of flavor, My braised sweetbread entrée was tasty and served with a beet puree. The hit of the night was the suckling pig. The skin was crisp as it should be. The meat was tender and tasty. Our salad was fresh and lightly dressed. We selected a French Bordeaux that complemented both entrees and starters. There might be 25 tables in total, Reservations are definitely a must. Our server had a heavy French accent that added to the experience. It reminded me of upscale restaurants that I have eaten in when in Paris. A definite come back to place!"

The food is delicious except the chef needs to change up his menu. He "americanized" it years ago in order to please the palates of the Floridians, which I understand but find unfortunate. Maison Blanche is a great go to place for a special occasion and a quiet unrushed evening!"

  • "My wife and enjoy a restaurant where the food, service, and ambiance are top notch. Mason Blanche is all of that and more. Michel was our server and he did a splendid job. Our compliments to the Chef for creating an excellent meal. We had the Herb Ravioli and Chanterelles Risotto for our first courses. The main courses were Short Ribs and Prime Rib Eye. All were excellent. Deserts were Chocolate and Peach Raspberry soufflés. The wine list includes selections from all over the world. There are many fine French restaurants in the U.S. but this one is at the top of my list."
