Mahogany's At the BanksExcellent Dining ExperienceMy family's first experience at Mahogany's. We were seated promptly. The service was outstanding! Our server was knowledgeable, very courteous and checked in periodically to see if everything was to our liking! The food was served while still hot and was really flavorfull! The place has great ambience. We were there for a Mother's Day midday meal, but I really think this is a great location for an evening out -or- for an after game meal and cocktails. All the staff were courteous and professional. I highly recommend this establishment if you are a fan of "down home" southern cuisine.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall I enjoyed having myOverall I enjoyed having my birthday dinner there and we enjoyed the music:0)4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I was lookingMy wife and I was looking to get out for the evening and heard about Lovers Lane part 2. So we made a reservation. We had dinner with live music and comedy, it was great. I wish mahogany's continued success. We will return again soon.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Group Outing for LunchMy Red Hat Group selected Mahoganys for our luncheon after touring the exhibit at the Freedom Center. We parked underground and everything was really convenient.
Food was excellent and we had a really nice server who took pictures of the group. He asked the owner to come over and say hello to us and she was really delightful. We wish her much luck at the restaurant, it is beautifully decorated and the background music was nice and upbeat.
There were 12 of us and we would all go back again- I have to try that peach cobbler!!!3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMMy daughter had the shrimpMy daughter had the shrimp po boy and although it was good, the slaw on it had a metallic or chemical taste to it that was worrisome. She was not comforable asking for it to be replaced so we asked what was in the slaw sauce. The waitress was very nice and returned saying "the chef said it was a secret", so still not sure if it was "bad" mayonaise or an intended flavor. But either way, would not risk ordering the slaw.
I had the fried shrimp baset and it wa a small bowl of tiny salad sized shrimp with about ten really good fries. Very small portion for standard entree price.
And soup and all sides were $5. Seems a lot for collard greens, okra and mac and cheese, if your not Jeff Ruby. Beautiful, but limited menu and a tad overpriced.2/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
