When comparing Mahogany to our New York City options, there's a lot we like about Mahogany which keeps us coming back. For the money, Mahogany is quite reasonable. Most restaurants of this type generally charge about %10 to %15 additional. Secondly, a good steak is common but Mahogany sets itself apart with quality sides and dessert. I like to rotate different steak and seafood houses when visiting the Tulsa area. For whatever reason after some time between visits, I forget the fact that Mahogany's is just far superior to every other one in town. Yes, it's expensive ($300 - $500 per meal by how we do it)...but anyone looking for a "dining experience" and a special meal to share with you spouse will not walk away with diner's remorse. It's not very often that I systematically savor each bite of appetizer, soup, and entree with a sip of wine after each. You can't help but do that while dining here. I think it's the best restaurant in Tulsa...and easily our favorite.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMNot your everyday restaurantThe signature, off-menu appetizer, lobster cargot, is a bit pricey (twice as much as any other appetizer), but worth it at least once. The steaks were perfectly cooked. Our group of 8 started with the seafood Monty and it was just delicious. Four of the 8 are big men and steak fanatics; each had the bone in filet and said it was the best steak they had ever eaten. The wait staff explained the menu and was attentive without going overboard.
