This was my fourth time at the Magnolias. Second time with the same waiter - his name is James or Jamie (sorry for not remembering exactly) who provided excellend and friendly, in no way pushy, service. He made us feel like special guests, gave advice when asked, and made our visit truly memorable. Considering that I am a vegetarian (my friend is not) the mere fact that I keep coming to the Magnolias and have every intention of continuing to do so should speak volumes about what I think about you. The mill itself is, of course, a great attraction but the food, wine and service matter even more. Please don't change! Thanks for a wonderful experience, Rachel

Other visits to Magnolia were better. I chose the porterhouse special, which should mean that they had a lot of confidence in the quality of the dish. I ordered it medium rare, but it was medium and also cool, suggesting too long under the broiler and on the counter. On top of that, it was grisely. Other than that, the other dishes were very good. it was too bad that the centerpiece took away from the experience.

We have gone to Magnolias at the Mill now for two very special occasions; with a small intimate group the night of our wedding and to celebrate my 30th birthday! Both times we have enjoyed all aspects of the atmosphere, food and service. Excellent find all around, would recommend to anyone for any occasion, even a casual family dinner! The food was very well presented... and extraordinairly delicious!!! The servers & food runners were friendly, personable and knowledgable of the menu.. Thank you for helping to make both of these occasions very special!

    Dined on 5/11/2008
I was very disappointed with the Mother's Day Dinner Buffet. At $42 per person, I was surprised to find the lack of variety and the poor quality. The shrimp was the worst texture I've ever experienced. The chicken (or fish, I'm not sure which) was dry and tough. There was no butter for the bread and the Insalata Caprese contained no basil (at least at 6:30) The pasta station offered lots of choices, but the cream pesto sauce had no flavor. The prime rib was excellent, and the cheesecake was divine. The fruit was fresh and tasty. The chocolate covered strawberries were wonderful, but they ran out.I'm hoping the regular menu is better but, I would not recommend spending a holiday meal here. Service was excellent.

The Mother's Day buffet was wonderful with a great selection of dishes ranging from salmon, crusty baked chicken breasts, tender BBQ ribs and Prime rib roast. The salads and shrimp cocktail were outstanding. Desserts were varied and delicious. Really a dining experience. We've eaten there numerous times, but have always ordered off the menu. This was our first buffet with Magnolias at the Mill and they accomplished an outstanding dining experience. We highly recommend this restaurant to any and all that wish to enjoy a great dining treat.

We went for Sunday Brunch on Mothers Day. I was a just slightly disappointed in the set up of the food and the lack of variety. However, what food there was was very good. The service, from Lee Anne, was EXCELLENT. I got a stain on my shirt from dropping a piece of shrimp on it, and she was kind enough to bring over a napkin soaked in club soda to eliminate the stain. She offered us a sample of "her favorite" beer. And, because it was also my wife's birthday, she sent us each home with a Magnolia's coffee mug. We will definitely go back. And, we want to try one of thier theme nights.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2005
    Dined on 5/9/2008
My wife and I went to Magnolias for a romantic dinner (date night) and had a very nice dinner. The salad used locally grown lettuce and had pine nuts, strawberries and cheese. The dressing was awesome! Unfortunately, at $9 each for a side salad, was a bit pricey. Also, the wait staff didn't indicate the prices of the specials (which is just a regular annoyance of mine). My wife had a strip steak that had a fair amount of fat. My pork tenderloin was excellent.

I love Magnolias, especially if I can sit outside - a casual patio, excellent beer list, and really thoughtful (and delicious!) food combinations. The menu is just right - not too big, not too sparse. I appreciate the use of local food products. The service is friendly, knowledgeable about everything on the menu, and pays just the right anount of attention. Easy to find parking too. About as close to perfect as it gets.

Great service from the waitress! The food was very good too. At first the hostess tried to cram us (5) into a booth for 4 (settings on the table). A nice open table for 5 was close by. I asked for it and she said it was not available until I started pushing her -- I had made reservations far enough in advance that this should have not been an issue -- and I do not think it is very becoming to have to "beg" in front of everyone! Otherwise, a very nice place and experience.

The restaurant was very enjoyable and the food was very good. The only negatives were 1) the waitress was a little inattentive; we had to ask for our water glasses to be refilled; 2) the website listed dress as business casual and most patrons were in jeans and shorts; and 3) my dish listed grits with the Mediterranean shrimp, and it came with cheesy risotto. Overall, the dining experience was good and we will definitely be back.

Was seated in the dinig area. Medium-sized restaurant with rustic decor (used to be an old Mill). Bar area seemed large and faced an open kitchen - nice set up. Very warm lighting - relaxing atmosphere coupled with excellent, attentive service. Food selections were numerous and everything we ordered was tasty and plentiful. I'd recommend this restaurant.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2006VIP
    Dined on 4/9/2008
We had a less than stellar waiter - we asked for bread and water 4 times before we received any - and that finally came when we asked the bus boy, not the server. We were celebrating two birthdays and the waiter told us all he could offer was a free desert for the birthday boys, which was fine, but he never asked if anyone else at the table wanted desert or coffee and delivered the bill shortly after the deserts. The food was good and we will go back.
