  • "This is review is based on my first visit to Maggiano's and I thought that the dinner for two special was outstanding in general and in particular considering the price. I made reservations and was seated promptly. I'd always heard that Maggiano's was pricey (and some items are) but I feel as though I definitely received my money's worth on the special and I will definitely be back! Loved it!"

  • "The restaurant was fine but the food was too rich for my taste. Two in our party liked and 2 found it too rich. That is a personal taste thing so I wouldn't give it a bad review but on the other hand I would not go back. I don't find it necessary for the restaurant to contact me as they did nothing wrong, service was good etc. I am sure they please many people that like Italian fare."

  • "Maggiano's has always been a favorite in our family, but I'm finding lately that the quality of the food has gone down quite a bit. While the service is excellent and our waitress was top notch, that did not cover the fact that some of the dishes we ordered were not worth the menu price. Our group ordered in 'family style' and for one of the dishes, the veal was over done and the pasta dish was swimming in cream sauce. As a home chef myself, I see that these are signs of lesser quality ingredients with the same menu price as before, making the value of the dish off balance. I now see Maggiano's as a good lunch option rather than a great spot for special occasions or great quality as once noted when they first opened here in STL."

  • "Five of us went on Friday, 3/28/14, to celebrate a birthday (which was noted in our OpenTable reservation & initially mentioned by our server). Once seated, it took a really long time to get our drinks delivered from the bar. One may have been made incorrectly, however, the server said, "it's the same thing, just not frozen". The calamari appetizer was just ok. Someone ordered a fish dish & it was way too salty. The manager seemed a bit put-off by this feedback & recommend he select a different dish because it would come out the exact same way-too salty. Odd. We did not ask nor did our server suggest a birthday celebration/dessert, although the table next to us received a dessert & candles. Overall, not very impressed."

  • "We go out on a date every week and I had been planning an especially nice night out to mark the end of Spring Break. We went to the Rep for a fun play and then came to Maggiano's for a romantic meal. I was smart enough to make reservations ahead of time. The wine was great, the food was tasty (and enough for a few less romantic meals at home) and the atmosphere gave us a chance to have one of our intimate, personal, and meaningful conversations eye-to-eye. All in all, it was a great experience (though we were concerned about the delay in getting our food and wine refills)."

  • "we booked in advance which was nice. we were seated at the time we were scheduled. The food was amazing. My only complaint was our waiter was not the greatest. we waited twenty minutes before he took our drink orders. The table next to us, was seated after us. They received their drinks and bread before us. We had to ask for bread. There were ten in my group and he only brought two baskets of bread. So some of us had to split pieces of bread. we ordered gluten free bread for one of our people which we did not receive until we were almost finished with the meal. We ordered a bottle of wine, we poured two glasses. He stated he would come back and chill the bottle. By the time he returned to chill, the bottle was already empty."

My co-worker had never been to Maggiano's and they really loved the food as well. The service was fast and efficient.   • "My husband and I had a reservation and were seated immediately upon arriving. Our booth, on the upper level, was clean spacious and far from the hustle and noise of everything that was going on downstairs. I believe there was a wedding reception in the banquet room. Our server was extremely courteous and provided suggestions for what was a good find since this was our first time there. Appetizer and main courses came out fast and hot. It is a little on the pricey side but is still nice since we received an entire entree to take home along with desert. We enjoyed the ambiance and the general decor. We plan on going back very soon."

  • "Jack was our waiter. He was outstanding!! I usually order 2 glasses of water, because MOST WAITERS don't get back to re-fill my glass. Jack not only brought me 2 glasses of water, but he kept them both topped off. It was our anniversary, and we received a card when we arrived that would give us some champayne . We told Jack that we were non-drinkers, and he said , " Let me see what we can do." He promptly came back, and said we could have an appetizer instead. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, and they were delicious! BUT WAIT!!! THERE'S MORE!!! When we got ready to leave, Jack brought us a plate of lemon cookies with some spirial candles!!! That was really great, and we had a wonderful time. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!"

  • "I have now been there 3 times and will be back March 26 for two birthday celebrations. I loved the pasta salad, meal and shared dessert two times. Once the veal parm was very dry and overcooked and that was taken off the bill. The last time I got shrimp on angel hair pasta and it was wonderful, that night and the leftovers two days later for lunch. Wed. the 26th I have not yet decided what to try."

  • "Maggiano's is so consistently inconsistent! We can go and have the best food and great service three times and then the fourth have a very unfortunate meal. This was such an occasion. The rolls came out and we sampled them and they were cold/frozen in the middle so we sent them back and they reheated the same 1/2 rolls that were left and brought them out! Is business so bad they couldn't give us two complete, new rolls? When my salmon salad came out the salmon was tiny - and scorched - and there was so much dressing it was inedible. I felt bad but had to send that back as well. When it reappeared it was minus the salmon. I asked why that was and was informed that since I had eaten most of the salmon they did not put fresh on the new salad."

  • "My wife and I had dinner here on a Saturday evening. We made reservations for 6:30, which worked out to be a great idea, as the people at the hostess stand in front of us were told it was a 2 1/2 hour wait for a table. We were seated promptly and received our drinks and bread quickly. We ordered an appetizer of calamari and marinara sauce. It was alright... nothing spectacular and nothing to crave for next time. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi, which was really good. I made the mistake of ordering the fettucini alfredo. It was a very water sauce, and tasted almost like a mixture of a powder and water. I prefer more cream-based sauces, so I was disappointed in that. It was just very bland. If we go back, I will make sure to get the scampi."

The restaurant is tastefully elegant but not over the top. The service is attentive but not obtrusive — delivery of courses to the table were well-timed. The food is outstanding and a good value — salads were cold and entrées were hot. Maggiano's is a great team that delivers a superb dining experience!"

  • "The menu is varied but there are solid favorites so everyone can find something to love. The "take-one-home" feature on the classic pastas is a tremendous value. It's an automatic doggie bag of an whole extra meal. It means I get to enjoy Maggiano's for lunch the next day as well. If I were more generous, I guess I would take it to a friend. The service was great too. The staff was very attentive."

  • "The salad and fried calamari were excellent. The eggplant parmigiana was very good. I tried the special dish of chicken, mushrooms, onions, and marsala cream sauce, usually served with rigatoni, but they were offering it in shell pasta. I liked the filling but I think it's better in the rigatoni rather than the shell. The service was great. Also, they had a special giving each of us a pasta dish to take home in addition to our dine-in dish."
