This is the second time we were here and the service blew us away. If ever in San Jose make a reservation try this place out you won't regret it. The only small issue we had was the table next to us with five small children. The children were very loud most of the time. But we still had a good time and enjoyed ourselves.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat except...It started off with finding my reservation was not booked correctly. I showed up a little after 715pm (reservation time) and being told I am an hour early and I made the resv for 8:15pm. I showed her my confirmation email that I received from Opentable clearly shows my reservation was 8:15pm. I had a party of 8. No apology instead, the hostess stated I don't know how that happened, our system is booked at 8:15pm. At least we had to wait another 15 minutes or so to have the table ready.
I asked whether I should file a formal complaint to the restaurant manager or Opentable, but never had a chance to meet w/dining manager.

Bring your appetites because its a lot of food. If you order from the Classic Pasta's menu you even get to bring another meal home with you! We didn't make reservations since we didn't know how long the ceremony would be. We called to check the wait times, was told 30 to 40 min.asked to be put on the list was told they couldn't do it over the phone. Open table to the rescue! Was able to get a reservation within 30 min which was how long it would take us to get there. Arrived got seated right away, which was fortunate considering how crowded it was. Service was good, food was good huge portions! The only drawback (minor) was random fettuccini and spaghetti noodle mixed in with my gnocchi. The service was excellent in spite of the very busy dining room. The food was excellent and portions generous. Maggiano's is unique for it's policy of buy one pasta dinner, take one home. I definitely would recommend Maggiano's to my friends and relatives and I will return for special occasions. The prices are very reasonable. We had dinner for 3 with appetizer, wine, dessert and coffee for $100.00 plus a take home meal. Firstly, they honored an online reservation I made about a month ago, and even called me to confirm it the day of. When I got there, it was really busy (as expected), and sat my party of 9 table within 4 minutes (which is excellent for a FRiDAY NIGHT...). Then we had this wonderful waiter who was friendly, recommended great wine, the family style, and overall just made this experience wonderful for me & my fam/friends. The one thing that stood out to me was the fact that the waiter was able to gauge if we were all getting full and his timing of when to bring out appetizers, food, and desert was on point. Just be sure to make a reservation to avoid wait.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMcasual tasty italianAs long as you have reservations, Maggiano's Little Italy is a great spot to eat because you can arrive either dressed up or very casual and still receive good food and good service. You can usually get a table easily before 5:00, but after 5:00 you must have reservations or the place is completely booked up with a long wait list. The servers are friendly and attentive. We've tried almost every item on the menu, and no matter what we order - it all tastes good. I have to say their Cheesecake is divine, the best I've ever had - much better than any dessert at the Cheesecake Factory. It was very good! our dinner too, quite a while to come though. And although at the restaurant I thought it tasted very good when I went to have some of my left overs at home the chicken was quite pink and I had to throw it out. They have private rooms, which is great for groups, and a family-style menu that's perfect for special occasions. They also have individual servings for romantic dinners, and a nice patio for outdoor dining. The food is good, and the desserts are great. The only problem is that it can be a little loud at times. Some dishes were good. I recommend avoiding the grilled items. They overcook the grilled meat & vegetables; the items are burned to a crisp and very dry. I've had two grilled plates in the past (fish and chicken), they were dry but not as black as the dishes we had recently. I took care to pick something out of their special menu this time in hopes that it would be superb, but the food was dry, hard, and black as charcoal.
Salads were delicious. We tried all the different salads. Everyone enjoyed their salads. Some people in our party loved their Parmesan Chicken and Pasta dishes.
