To celebrate our "Last Supper" before heading our different ways we had a giant dinner with our friends and family - 22 guests total! The walk won't be more than 2 blocks. When we arrived, we found a very busy restaurant, We were about 15 minutes early, yet, they were ready to seat us. Our server, Dominic immediately came over to our table with ice water. Then, he asked us if were wanted anything to drink other than water. When he returned he took our food order while delivering bread to the table. Our food came out in a timely manner, drinks refilled as needed etc. The food was excellent. The order size was more than enough. Everything was great. We had no room for dessert. 3 of the 4 of us took food home. Our server Sheena was awesome. We were a large group and she handled us beautifully.
Also, I have a daughter with celiac, gluten free, and the chef did a marvelous job accomodating her dietary needs.

I had decided on the family style menu before hand and ordered a good variety of food for us. I hadn't ever eaten at maggiano's before, but had a good expectation due to a recommendation by my uncle. We were not disappointed. The food never stopped coming to our table. Three hours of continuous eating and our waiter was still trying to bring us more food. We will be back soon and often.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat happened to the portions?In an attempt to maintain reasonable costs Maggiano's has dramatically decreased the portion size of many of its entrees. For example the eggplant parmigiana that we were served was ludricously small. The staff was incredibly generous in trying to rectify the situation (bringing another portion, offering a replacement entree, even bring a complimentary dessert) and that was greatly appreciated. However we will think twice about returning for fear of being served another entree of shrinking size.

It's within easy walking distance. The service is good to outstanding, the food is reliably consistent and good, and the crowd--while usually noisy--gives off a good, energetic vibe. Selecting an early dining time really improves the experience in this large, well appointed and busy location. The service was excellent - welcoming, attentive and not smothering. The menu offers so many choices of well done Italian fare. The Maggiano's salad was excellent and both our pasta specialities were very well prepared and tasty. Portions are more than generous. Drink offerings are also very good and the moderate wine list makes it easy to find a nice glass. Located in a beautiful historic building, the restaurant feels like its about 80 years old, but has only been there for 11 years. The staff was friendly and seated us at a window-side booth. We were glad to have arrived at 12:00 because by 1:00 the restaurant was full. The menu has many tempting choices, especially the appetizers, which are entree-size. We shared delectable stuffed mushrooms, I enjoyed sausage and peppers and a copious spinach salad, and my friend had excellent crab cakes.
