We love the crispy zucchini appetizer and most of the desserts and feel like we get a good deal on the entree's because we take home several meals worth of leftovers. The table was ready on time on an incredibly busy day. Service was excellent. The food far surpassed our expectations, and we were expecting something big! We sat on the indoor balcony overlooking the main dining room. Loved it! Would definitely go again for such an occasion and recommend it without reservation to others. It was fairly loud on this busy day (mother's day and UNC graduation day), but that was understandable and to be expected. Our only complaint was that the waiter (an older gentleman) seemed bothered when we asked for anything. For example, he acted like it was an inconvenience to get a children's menu. Our child is 10 (almost 11) and is tall, and he acted like we were lying about the age. He either misunderstood or forgot to get the drink order for one in our party, so when he brought drinks and we told him the other person still needed a drink, he acted aggravated. My son commissioned as a Navy officer and graduated from NC State so we had a big group for dinner. Upon entering, the hostess and management staff were welcoming and helpful. They readied our table and seated us quickly. Once seated the knowledgeable waitress was spot on all evening. She handled all 16 of us like a pro answering all our questions and accomodating special dietary requests. Then of course there's the food which was delightful, delicious, and plentiful. I cannot give this experience enough compliments. Our Server welcomed us and was available to answer Qs about the great menu. The food was very good - just shy of excellent. The amount of food served was far more than we would ever be able to finish at one seating. The best part is on most nights you choose a entree and get to take home a second serving of the entree. Frugal folks will love this!

The food is made from scratch when you order it so everything was fresh and delicious. I could have stood the lighting to be a little brighter, but it was probably dor mood and didn't take away from anything. Our waitress was awesome! She wasn't there all the time but always seemed to be there before I had to ask for anything. We had great food and plenty to take home. When I made the reservation, it was for our 15th wedding anniversary. I asked to make sure they had a wine that we love on their list. When we arrived, the waitress knew that I requested the wine and immediately offered us a glass.

There were 6 in our group and we ordered the Classic Family Style with Calamari, Bruschetta, and Mozzerella Marinara for appetizers an they all were wonderful. Then we had Spaghetti and meatballs, Taylor Street Baked Ziti, Ghnocchi and Italian Sausage, and Four Cheese Ravioli as our main course and we stuffed ourselves with delicious foos. And even though we were stuffed we managed to eat the creamiest cheese cake AND the BEST Tiramisu I ever had. Our server was very attentive and provided us with outstanding service. We arrived for our reservation about a half-an-hour early but were still seated promptly. The restaurant is very large, but not loud or the tables too close to each other. Each of us had a different dish and each was delicious. I got the buy-one-meal, take-one-home pasta special for $12.95. Both meals were very good and what a treat to have the extra meal to take home, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed, and also made him want to come next time.
We also shared a chocolate marshmallow torte dessert that was too much for one, but fabulous for the four of us, sweet and gooey and wonderful.
The service was accommodating, but not intrusive.

Ask the waitstaff about vegetarian friendly food, because some dishes that seem like they are vegetarian really aren't, like the Bowtie Aglio. We came in a party of 8 and had a 6:45 reservation. We still had to wait to be seated for about 10 minutes, but they were already telling walk-ins there was a wait of over 1 hour. It was very loud and very crowded, but the seating was comfortable, not too cramped. The service was great, answering all our questions, even the one obnoxious person in our party.
