The appeal and favor just was not there. The one and only place I wanted to go was Maggiano's. My hubby and I went for a much needed romantic time alone. It was great, as usual. Then close family friends wanted to celebrate a birthday after church on Sunday. We were originally going to Cowfish. Too long a wait, their loss. The birthday girl wanted Maggiano's but thought that since were just there on Friday we would say no. Heck, no we said let's go again! And once again it was fantastic!

Our waiter provided great info about selecting the wine. We had few tried and then decided on one. Food was also great taste and provided our vegetarian needs.Appetizers were just enough to start with so not overwhelmingly heavy. the inside room where we moved later on was quiet for conversations. The only real problem with Maggiano's is the noise level. Very loud and very crowded conditions. Ask for a booth if you can, the tables are crowded together. Oh, there is always a wait of 15-30 minutes, even if you have a reservation, so be prepared. We were told several times they were "clearing our table" and still waited 20 minutes with a reservation.

Service was a little slower than usual but the Kitchen was having a time of it with several events happening in-house at the same time. The people-watching and vibrant atmosphere prevented this from being an issue and the food was delivered hot and perfectly prepared and presented.. Everything we have tried from the menu is outstanding. The Creme Brulee is one of the best I've had anywhere. Wait staff is always friendly, food is always amazing, prices are as expected for great food...we will continue to go back time and time again. He also listened and recommended excellent wines and port. Food was delicious!! We selected the family style option. Calamari was the best we've EVER had!!! We had plenty to eat and enough leftovers for more than one meal for the whole family.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Italian FoodWe did not have to wait for a table, even though we were 15 minutes early, but our food did take about 25 minutes to be served at 9. The child portions are huge. Two adults could split it. The single portions are enough for two people as well, and you would be left full. It was me, my mom, and my 6 year old and we could have all shared one small dinner entree, but our waiter suggested we get more, which was too much actually, but we took it home in a box. The side salad was even enough to share. If you want to save on dough, share. The portions are huge. The ambiance was nice too. By that time other parts of our meal had been served and we no longer were interested in the salad that was not served. Our drinks were never refilled. We had lots of runners go by us all night, but noone serviced us. Food was excellent. She stopped by and chatted whenever it was possible without being intrusive.
Another treat, we dine here when we go to the Nascar races in Charlotte and shop in Macy's as we do not have one close by and have lots of family birthdays to buy for. It is such a pleasure to get the extra meal which we put in the fridge in the hotel and then a cooler to bring home. Maggiano's was perfect! I'd never been there but always heard good things about it. The service was excellent, our server was very friendly, energetic and seemed happy to be there, even though it was close to 9 pm and she said she had been there since that morning. The food was great....although we were so busy talking and enjoying each other's company that no one finished their meals and we all took to-go boxes! Everyone was pleased; usually in a group someone has a concern but not the case here. Great variety of wines. Great atmosphere. Maggiano's has been our family's spot for over 3 years and it has never failed to give us the best dining experience. From the food to the servers - Everything is excellent. It does get a little loud at times but it is the sound of people enjoying the company of others in their group. The service exceptional and our server was great. Madison was personable and friendly, very accomodating and informative. He made us feel as though we were his personal guests. He conversed a little and took interest in what we had to say with a chuckle now and again. We selected from the classic family style menu and every selection was delicious and the refills and additional servings came timely. The chicken parmesan, mozzarello marinara, and grilled salmon were reordered three times which I think makes a statement. Looking very much forward to our next visit.
