Diner Reviews
  • "We have been to this restaurant several time in the past year and the food and service was excellent. This time the service was excellent but the food was over cooked / burnt. We also had to send the vine back because the vine glass was fealty. "

  • "It was very nice that on Easter Sunday when realizing life had caught up with me and I had made no plans for Easter Lunch!! We had some friends in the same boat, so I decided to look at Maggiano's. I was happily surprised when I could get a reservation for 6 within an hour and half!! The food was great and service also!"

  • "I really like the feel of this restaurant. Lots of good choices on the menu. I unfortunately tried the Chicken Manicotti, very bland. I told the waitress towards the end of the meal about it but nothing was done. Might go back, not sure."

  • "The place is outrageously beautiful. The service so-so. As we walked to our table...the smells were wonderful, but when it came time to have our meal...not so good. I ordered the eggplant parma. It was chewy & not so tasty, & the sauce was a disappointment to say the least. I ended up with an upset stomach. We're from N.Y. & used to Little Italy. NOW...that's Italian. "

  • "Love this Maggianos! Have eaten here on several occasions and have hosted a graduation celebration in one of their banquet rooms. I can't speak highly enough of all staff members...they always maintain a professional demeanor and are delightfully friendly as well. Additionally, the food never disappoints. Worth the 45 minute drive for us!"

  • "She has a gluten allergy, and our waitress Jennifer went above and beyond to research which drinks were gluten friendly. The Sicilian drink is amazing. They had a gluten free penne pasta that was very delicious too. "

  • "Having eaten at Maggiano's last year when visiting Austin last , we were looking forward to going back. We made a reservation, very easy to do! However the food was a disappointment. It seems the kitchen uses food service products rather than preparing it fresh. My daughter had chicken Parmesan which the chicken breast were oval frozen chicken patties like Tyson. It had sauce and some melted cheese on top. Yuck! My chicken Marsala was swimming in a powdered gravy. Not good. The garlic mashed potatoes were dry and bland stuck to the spoon. My husband's eggplant Parmesan was a "glop" of pasta and sauce very unappetizing. We will not return."

  • "Hey, Austin is in Texas ... where Italian is Olive Garden and Dominos Pleasant discovery ... shades of Italy from New York or Boston ... one can almost smell the fire and fish from the ethnic firefighters and fisherman homes. Only thing missing ... clerical collars and cassocks ... perhaps management should consider comping the good Padres like their heritage dictates."

  • "We eat out quite a lot. The service that we received from Nick ("Nick at Night--as he introduced himself--now I'll never forget his name) was BY FAR the best we have ever had. He paid attention to every need, was fun and humorous and paid special attention to my elderly mother, which made her feel so special. From now on, I will call ahead to see if he's working, and request his section. After this experience, I can't imagine going there and not sitting in his section. My mother talked about this for days. A truly remarkable experience for all of us. Our thanks!"

  • "The restaurant was filled with Prom goers and very busy. Everyone, especially the manager was excellent at accommodating our requests."

  • "Including banquet facilities, capacity is 680 guests. WOW! For a place that large, the service was personal, the food was very good, the wine recommendation was excellent, and I would definitely return."

  • "It appeared that the size of the portions has gone down and the price has been increased .. the Service is consistent and very good but I felt a bit rushed.. Take Home portions were brought out during our meal and I felt rushed. Glass / wine portions seemed smaller and to expensive for general table wine. We will go back but will ask Not to be rushed and order more carefully. Mark Northrup"

  • "Nice location. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. Food selections were good. However, the food itself was somewhat disappointing. Caesar salad was slightly wilted. No fresh cracked pepper was offered. Croutons were too hard to eat. Bread was not that flavorful. The spaghetti was a bit overcooked just not special. Ziti and Lasagna dishes were somewhat better. Overall, the food did not stand up to the expectations. We would return and next time likely try something different than the classic pastas."

  • "My husband and I went here to celebrate my birthday because I love Italian food. I really enjoyed my food - eggplant parmesan (maybe a touch too much garlic and I love garlic). Really liked their rolls and had to restrain myself from filling up on them. Portions are huge and took some home along with the extra dinner you get with the classic pasta orders. Had a problem with a crying infant at next table so requested to move. Commend original server who moved us from his service area, but took our order so we would not have to wait for our food. The second server also was very attentive and responsive."

  • "We went to Maggiano's for the first time on the recommendation of an Austin native. We were delighted by the excellent prices, the delicious food, and the prompt, attentive service. It will be a family favorite from now on."

  • "Maggiano's is a fantastic restaurant - great food, excellent service and wonderful atmosphere."

  • "Our server appeared to be a little off. We had to track down our waitress to ask for a beverage other than water rather than some one approaching our table and asking if we would like anything. When she returned with the beverages, she took our food order, then the waitress pulls out the "specials" menu and offeres the table the chefs picks of the day... I repeat, AFTER we already ordered. The then states that she will go put in our order and walks off without checking to see if we wanted to change our order to a "special." Seems backwards... Once the food was delivered to our table, we did not see the waitress again until about 30 minutes later when she brough our to-go orders (which she mixed up) and the check."

  • "Our first time was for lunch after graduation and this time to celebrate my wife's birthday. We came back because of the quality of the food and the service. You never feel rushed. The server knows the menu very well and her recommendations were spot on. I have tried the pasta and seafood, and both had the same quality. It is worth driving 15 miles for great food."

  • "This was the first time we had dined here and we had reserved with the special note that it was our daughter's 18th birthday and to treat her like a princess. Our waiter Zach was spectacular and we all thoroughly enjoyed our evening! We will definitely be back and will ask to be seated in Zach's section for the sheer entertainment of his company and his great food recommendations."

  • "The server brought my friend out the wrong drink (asked for Coke, received Iced Tea) and also completely got her entree dish wrong. Asked for spiral pasta with chicken and sausage, but received some strange cheese ravioli dish. He almost got my drink wrong too, I had to reiterate several times which cocktail I wanted. The food was nice but service lets this place down."

  • "Twice in the last few months this has been the destination for my wife on I when we find a baby sitter. Food is always good, we are well served, the restaurant has a wonderful ambience that isn't too noisy, perfect for having "catch-up" conversations."

  • "We were very glad we pick Maggione's to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary! We made reservations and are SO GLAD we did; it gets kind of busy there in the Domain around dinner time! Everyone was friendly and helpful. We loved the "Mom's Lasagne" and Apple Crostatta dessert."

  • "We frequent Maggianos. On 3/21, we went there for dinner.. We sat down at 8:30 and our waitress brought water and bread quickly.. she took our drink and appetizer order and the appetizer came out quickly... Our drinks however took 40 minutes for a glass of tea and a Dr pepper ... When we were ordering food I specifically asked for ordered gluten free pasta as I have severe food allergies... well and he after we got there they tried serving our food and mine was not gluten free when we noticed it looked different then I normally get they confirmed it was not gluten free and we rejected the food and asked for a manager...5 minutes later another waiter came right back out trying to serve the same food -not glutenfree."

  • "My husband and I went with our friends. We did the family style all you can eat option. If there are four in your party this is the way to go. You choose what level of eating choices you want. You get appetizers, main courses and dessert. Then you can eat as much as you want from those choices. If you would pick appetizer, main course and dessert it would cost you more than this option. Our waitress was great. She did not hang out at the table and very respectful of our privacy. I do not feel this is a place to take young kids but a special occasion place to enjoy with good friends and significant others."

  • "We love the new menus items, especially the one with the brisket! And we love the compliments of the chef offer. It helps us to continue enjoying Maggiano's days after we dine there. Our server was good & very accommodating in helping us to make our wine selection. However, her eyes were darting in different directions & she seemed distracted while at our table. We felt like she was possibly new & maybe a bit overwhelmed. We've had many exceptional servers during our 6 years of dining @ Maggiano's so this will not keep us away. Looking forward to our next dining experience!"

  • "We were placed on a table closed to couple group dining with many kids. It was kind of noisy. We requested to change to another table in a more quiet area; the staff is very friendly and understanding, she changed our table to a inner corner and we can enjoy our lunch."

  • "The option of ordering a second entrée to take home is a big plus. Of course, not all entrees are included in this option but still a great option. Food has always been good and service very friendly."

  • "Veal Parm was only barely edible. The crab and shrimp cannelloni was fair but very cheese heavy. Overall the meal was just ok. Certain items were over breaded, over fried and over cheesed. There are no light hands in the kitchen. This is our third and final trip largely because the dishes are overpowering."
