The food was wonderful and the service was excellent! Our server Deborah was fantastic as well as the other staff! It was a great family outing and we left in a food coma! It's got non-chain flair and ambiance packed into a great restaurant. Our servers have been on the ball and top notch both times, and the food is very well done - tradition Italian fare and everything we expect from that. Living in San Francisco, we've been to many restaurants in North Beach and Maggiano's stacks up well with many of the little "hole in the wall" restaurants that populate that area. Celebrated our anniversary and management acknowledged the event and made us feel very special. Extremely busy while we dined due to graduations, etc. but staff were plentiful and very helpful. Chose lasagna and eggplant for our entrees and we found them to be plentiful and delicious along with the spinach salads. Also received complimentary entrees to go as part of the Marco package. I love the Chicken Francese. The sauce on the chicken is yum & the oven baked potato chunks are so crispy & good. My husband loves the Classic four cheese ravioli which works well for us because we get an entree to take home.
Our server, Abbey, remembered us from another visit and welcomed us back and asked our names. She was attentive without being hovering. She was happy to bag up our leftover food and even offered us some bread to go with it. When we got home we noticed that she'd written our names of the leftover boxes! We got our table right away with our OpenTable reservation (a huge perk when bringing our kiddo with us). The service was excellent and the food is our favorite... especially the eat one/take one home pasta! We're still enjoying the leftovers 2 days later. Server was friendly, courteous, prompt and knowledgeable. Food is delicious, however the nutrition facts reveal much higher quantities of fat, calories and sodium than I would usually consume. We looked at the facts prior to dining, then chose wisely. Price is very reasonable for the quantity and quality of food ... if you choose one of their standard pasta dishes, you get to choose any other standard pasta dish to take home! Two for the price of one! Wine selection was very good ... we had a delicious Meomi Pinot Noir. Skipped dessert because we were so full from the delicious salads, main courses and wonderful bread, but the selections look heavenly! We celebrated my BFs 67th birthday with his sister and her hubby. We were first impressed by the menu. If you can't find something on this vast menu, you aren't in the mood for Italian food. The options were many & varied, the food was very good and the waiter was attentive, but not overly attentive. He was also very knowledable when we had questions about certain entrees and wine. Promptly seated and greeted by wait person who was very helpful in explaining menu choices. Ordered the Make-a-Wish special as they make contribution to their two sponsored children --tilapia and stuffed chicken with salads and dessert . Food was well-presented and delicious but more than we could eat at one time. Took half of it home and had meal the next day. Both house salad and Caesar salad were fresh and plentiful. Apple dumpling dessert was very tasty.
