A word from Maestro's at the Van Dam
Great food, great hosptality, and a great new space. We feature a classic bar and lounge, beautiful dining room and an amazing raised terrace for outdoor dining right on Broadway. Everything we serve we make here. One of our new features are homemade sausages and burgers cooked over lump charcoal. Our mission is to "put the love on the plate". Our culinary team is the most talented and most passionate team in the area. Our service staff has the power to "just say yes" to all customer's needs and wishes. We also feature a great Chef's table that accomodates up to 14 people. A perfect setting for a celebration. We serve great food in a casual and fun atmosphere with no pretense and warm hospitality. Please understand absolutely no reservations are accepted on the outdoor terrace. Outdoor dining is on a first come first serve basis. Reservations made are for inside only.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "The dining experience was terrific. The food was exceptional."

  • "This was just a midweek visit for us. The food was excellent, the service was just right. No special occasion, but a special time."
    Dined on 4/8/2014
  • "The bar and the bartender (Leo) started off our special evening. Loved the bar and the service was top notch. We then moved into the dinning room for our dinner and we a little disappointed with the closeness of the tables for two. You are basically sitting on top of each other and hope that the table next to you is friendly as you can hear everything they are saying. If you go with parties of four, you will have more space and when we go back we will make sure it is with four people. The food and service was excellent in the dinning area, I was even given a free drink while waiting for our dinner entree to arrive as the hostess thought we were waiting to long for our food. I was treated to a birthday dessert. All and all great experience."

  • "My girlfriends and I had dinner here and it was absolutely great! The portions were huge and the food was delicious! Especially loved the free dark chocolate bark that was offerred after dinner! can't wait to come back when the weather is nicer!"

  • "We ordered from the prix fixe menu and my meal was fine but my wife's left a lot to be desired. She had a Chicken Rigatoni that she couldn't finish because it was just dripping with grease (butter?) and when the waitress took the plate away my wife said she couldn't finish it because it was so fatty and asked that it be shown to the chef. They agreed this was not the way it should be and took it off the bill. We would have preferred that it had been prepared right ot begin with but at least they did the right thing and comped it. We would go back again."

  • "Great menu, great food and service. An excellent bar tender, and our server,Becky, was very helpful and pleasant. It is a trifle loud when it is crowded, but to the point of discomfort."

    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "Best vegetarian food that I've had at Maestro's so far. The vegetarian lasagne was excellent. Great butternut squash salad and cheese-stuffed olives. Delicious cappuccino mousse. Definitely heavy on the unhealthy fat side though. Restaurant week price was a good value."

  • "This is probably our tenth time to Maestro's and it was terrific. This visit was during restaurant week and the food was terrific. Great selections and adequate portions."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Host and wait staff were wonderful. The restaurant was packed. Very noisy environment. Service was excellent, food was good, bistro steak was a little charred, not to my liking. To their credit it was restaurant week and the kitchen was extremely busy. Sent my drink back, it came back much better. Pasta appetizer and lamb lollipops were excellent. After dinner we were served with complimentary dark chocolate. I would just ask the restaurant not to have a hostess walk the circuit of the restaurant constantly eyeing our progress, made the dinner much less enjoyable. After dinner sat on the heated porch and talked with my companion, very nice after the noisy dining room. All in all a good experience."

  • "we (6) dined during restaurant week and was pleased with the quality and quantity of our meals. Service was spot on, friendly and attentive. Leftovers brought home were great the next day!! Can't wait to visit again."

  • "we had a fabulous dinner. the white bean pesto spread was delicious. the only complaint was that it was too noisy and that made conversation difficult."

  • "Loved the pumpkin soup and the seared salmon on risotto. My favorite lunch spot."

  • "Celebrated my birthday there and was very pleased as always. Our waited was very personable and the menu makes it difficult to chose just one entree"
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive. Looking forward to next time"
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "Been here many times, overall everything is consistent...service, food, bar, etc. The one thing I question is some of their portions. Appetizer "lamb chops", you get 4 little ones for $17? Not by any stretch of the imagination are they worth over $4 each."

  • "Dining early at 5:15 quieter then 7pm when the tables are full. Food selection is excellent with unique dishes. I had onion bisque which was very rich and flavorful. Divers scallops on a lobster potato base was excellent although the first scallop was just a little fishy. We shared salad and dessert. The lemon pie was a nice light ending to a fine meal. As always the fresh bread is a highlight and a night ending dark chocolate bite a delight. Dinner for two just over $100 which included wine."

  • "As usual our food was cooked to perfection and our server was very professional. Lauren picked the perfect wine for me and my friend. After dinner we went into the bar and the music was wonderful too. (Steve). Great night out!"

  • "Love Maestro's for the food and service. The menu is always creative and surprising and, best of all, excellently executed. Wait staff is friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The reason we will think twice about going back is the untenable noise level. It was beyond loud...it was totally deafening! We actually asked for our dessert to be packed to go so we could escape to the outside. Once several large parties (8-10 people) we seated Immediately behind us, all conversation ceased. And then some kind of music began playing...and that was that. Next time, we'll try a really early seating and hope for an outside table. Too bad..."

  • "The food was outstanding. Lobster Mac & cheese was out of this world. The filet was cooked to perfection. The staff attending us could not have been more attentive to our every need. However, the noise level was so unacceptably high it ruined the evening. The noise level in the restaurant was so high we could not speak with each other. Staff had to lean into us and get just a few inches from our face in order for us to hear them. We probably would not go back for dinner. Really a shame and very disappointing!"

  • "We went to Maestro's for Valentine's Day and ordered the special, which we thought was pricey at $85 per couple, but turned out to be well worth the price. Along with the salad came shrimp wrapped in ham. It had just a slight hint of horseradish with it, and it was the best shrimp I ever had. The bread, white and rye, seemed to be homemade but didn't come with enough butter, as it was cold and couldn't be spread easily. The main course, rib eye steak with lobster macaroni and cheese was excellent, and was served with Brussels sprouts which were specially prepared. My husband said he wished I could get the recipe for them. It's usually hard to make them taste good, but they did it. Service was very attentive. Would go there more if cheaper."

  • "We made a reservation two months prior to Valentines day to assure good seating. We came in the back door to the restaurant, we were seating at a small table with hardly any room, across form the back door, I had to sit with my coat on. Other couples with two in the party were given a nice table for four, away from the door. We could hear every conversation on both sides of us, had to compete to be heard. Secondly I ordered a $ 14.00 dollar hamburg for our dogs. I ask for just the hamburg, no bun, or frie or sides, I was charged full price for this, which I thought was a little cheap of the restaurant as I did spend over 174.00 that nignt? Overall a disappointment, not sure I will go back."

  • "The Valentine's Dinner for Two was excellent. The timing between the courses was perfect and serving them "family style" made the meal "ours", not his and hers. Nice touch!"

  • "My boyfriend and I love splurging when we have the rare opportunity to go out to dinner together, and splurge we did! The food was amazing, wine was terrific, and our server, Tara, was outstanding and sweet. A great place for a special dinner!"

  • "Maestros is by far my favorite restaurant in Saratoga Springs. Every bite of food is wonderful, service always great, and it is located right on Broadway, the main street of Saratoga. Kudos to John LaPosta and his exceptional restaurant and crew!"

  • "The open front deck is great during the summer. The noise level on the inside can get a bit high but not overbearing. Great place during the summer the crowded interior makes it not so great during the winter"
