Madrona ManorOUR STAY AT MADRONA MANORWe had a wonderful experience the other evening. Dinner on the veranda. Each course was a surprise and delicious. Comfortable evening. Wine list was not to our liking but we did find a bottle we liked.
We come here for our Anniversary each year.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGourmet delightChoose this exceptional place because it is a foodie experience and because of the ambience of a 19th Century upscale residence. There are many courses (and many chef's surprises), each quite small by normal US standards, but in aggregate there is plenty of food. In our group some didn't get the concept and joked about the amount of food on each plate which was unfortunate. I loved it but I'm not sure they did. Lesson here is that you need to ensure that those invited know the dining concept.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBest ever for my wife's birthdayWe were delighted to dine on the open porch on June 5th. The wait staff was superb and the food was fantastic. I highly recommend this one of a kind restaurant and Inn.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSpark is missingEverything at Madrona Manor was technically correct for our dinner. The food was tasty, the service was meticulous, the presentation was notable. I felt like I spent the entire evening laughing in church. Some of the presentations of the food call for more of a sense of humor or whimsy about the service or descriptions, and there is none of that. The restaurant seems to take itself incredibly seriously, and that may suit the clientele, but to me it felt like something was a little off.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Dinner and ServiceChef and staff were were right on the mark. Very creative menu and presentation. Labor intensive menu with a marvelous eye appeal. The only suggestion I have to improve experience would be to improve the wine list to match the excellence in the kitchen.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMPrelude to PassportThe restaurant was closed a private event called Prelude to Passport. A pre fixe menu along with wine pairing. Delicious food and outstanding service. The event was well done.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMUnbelievable experience, fromUnbelievable experience, from the food to the impeccable service, I would recommend this to anyone.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMHands down, one of the mostHands down, one of the most amazing places I've ever been. The food was unmatched and uniquely creative. I had many things I've never tried before, but nothing that was so adventurous that it was frightening. The complimentary courses were some of the best and the service was impeccable. There wasn't a note missed in any of the dishes and every flavor was showcased beautifully. We did the five course a la carte and added the cheese cart. The beet carpaccio, asparagus, onion veloute and elk were some of the most memorable courses of the evening. The cheese cart itself is also not to be missed! The ambiance was most notably the best of any place I'd ever been and was extremely romantic (ask to sit outside if it's a nice night!)4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Chef Jesse Mallgren cameThe Chef Jesse Mallgren came out to inquire about our meal, nice touch!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMHands down the most expensiveHands down the most expensive meal I've ever had outside of New York city. But Wow! was it fantastic!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely a foody spot. SmallDefinitely a foody spot. Small portions but each one exquisitely prepared. The combination of flavors and textures was outstanding.
We left with a feeling we had had a truly memorable experience.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMElegant, worth the price.Elegant, worth the price. Service was outstanding and a great destination place in the wine country3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOh how I wish I could haveOh how I wish I could have that food and that service in a fresher atmosphere. The manor has always been beautiful but some of the decor used in the dining room was really really dated (80's crystal vases with green glass beads and pink camellias, country-cutesy florals etc.) Aside from that, most of the patrons were very stuffy and very grey-haired. I heard a rumor that they are going to be closing but I can't say for sure. I'm just glad we went. The food was incredible. The gift dishes from the Chef were plentiful and beyond delicious. A multitude of small, highly flavorful dishes. If they hired a great designer, they could draw a majorly awesome crowd.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful meal, well worth it!I was blown away! We were greeted by a few staff members at the door, who took us straight to our table. Even though it wasn't a busy night, they still used multiple dining rooms to ensure an intimate night for all guests. We had a while room to ourselves.
The food was amazing, with an amuse bouche after each course. We had the 5 course menu option. Not one disappointment. service was excellent. Staff was very knowledgable and explained it in detail. They really took pride in their service. The wine pairings were perfect, and they even refilled some that we obviously enjoyed
The chef came out at the end of the night and talked to us about his training, influences, etc.
Total bill: $783 with cocktails supplements, and tip for 4.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second time diningThis was our second time dining at Madrona Manor. We enjoyed the first time so much that we decided to stay at the Manor for this trip and it did not disappoint. Lovely room, very quiet and private, the grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed walking through the vegetable and herb garden salivating over the possibilities the chef might incorporate into his dishes. Which brings me back to our meal. We decided to be a bit decadent and went for the full tasting menu and it did not disappoint. The food was incredible and it just kept coming. Lots of little surprises from the chef. Beautiful presentations each more delectable then the last culminating with incredible freshly made ice cream made table side with liquid nitrogen. A wonderful evening!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
