The new chef, Andrew Dixon continues to improve the menu save for one thing. What is so hard about making a chocolate cake something chocolate for dessert. I have tried anything I would eat for dessert such as the runny caramel pudding and am not impressed in the least. They would do so well as to hire a pastry chef. I have heard others say this, too.
Now for the positive; I adored my inferno burger which was the special Wednesday night. Best burger I have had there. I still say they have the best onion rings in Northern VA and tried to tomato soup for the first time. We really enjoyed the team-oriented service--we were never left sitting on our hands. Wings are excellent (but pricey), frickles excellent, pretzel is ok (better at Cap City or Glory Days). Excellent IPA went well with an outstanding burger, well-cooked burger with a tasty bun. Our waiter was very friendly, informative, and checked up on us frequently which was great. The food was SO good but very filling after a beer or two. The only thing I was disappointed in was their brewed beer. I came here for the beer not the food but the food ended up being incredibly good and the beer not so much. I sampled everything they had to offer and wasn't happy with anything to where i wanted a full glass of it but I did get the American Pale Ale and ended up only drinking a quarter of it. Right off the bat, I was happy with the service when our host was seating us and offered a table in the bar area away from the busier dining room. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu, and had good recommendations for the beer selection. On top of that, the food was very good.
