"As always, food was superb. Salmon salad was fresh and tender. Crab salad very nice, the paired slaw a little sweet. Waitstaff was knowledgeable, friendly and proficient. The big disappointment was with the hostess and our reservation. We spent half of our lunch seated at separate tables! Although apologetic, we were not offered any compensation for this oversight."

"I often meet friends at the River Room for lunch. The wait staff is friendlyand attentive. The popovers are a real treat. The menu consists of comfort food. The quiche loraine is terrific as is the meat loaf and chicken stir fry."

"We have dined at the River Room multiple times now. The most memorable part? The popovers. Aside from this one delightful piece the rest of our experience was less than acceptable. The food was mediocre at best and made even worse by the fact that it was cold by the time it made it to our table. Our server was non-existent. It took him 15 minutes to greet our table, just as long to deliver our beverages, and he dropped our food not to return again until it was time for our check. What an embarassing experience when we are out entertaining our clients. We will not return."

"This is such a lovely place to have lunch or dinner. So different from the trendy bar restaurants that are everywhere. It has the sophisticated ambiance of nice tea rooms of days gone by. It is top of my list for lunches or dinners with girl friends. Everyone is always surprised if they haven't been there that it is such a gem. It makes a lunch with my adult daughter so special. It makes a visit with a friend I don't see all the time extra nice. And it is a fun getaway from work with a couple of girlfriends. The food is always fresh. I love the salads especially. It's a great place for an early dinner as well. I have been going for years and hope to continue as a patron for many years to come."
