My husband, best friend, and I
dined on Saturday, 3/1 in the evening in celebration of my 59th birthday. It was the first time we've been there. Our food was really awesome. Our server were amazing. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive. We have only one negative comment, but's an important one. This venue does not have a handicap accessible restroom. All of the restrooms, including that of the employees, are located in the lower level which is only accessible via stairs. For us, this meant that I had to go outside the restaurant and into another business nearby and beg to use their facilities - on my birthday."

dish with cajun sauce. I had the sirloin steak and both dishes were perfectly prepared and served. Nicholas did a nice job given he is relatively new to Mac's."

Nicole's service was perfect; we
were well taken care of and enjoyed having Wally stop by our table. We celebrated my wife's birthday and had a great time. Diana had the Lobster pasta dish with Cajun sauce and I had the linguini Fisherman's style. Had a great time!"

We went on Valentines Day and it
was great. I wanted something that was on the online menu but was taken off the paper menu. The manager came over and informed me I could get it. It was delicious. I didn't expect that and was planning on getting another meal, but I was able to get what I wanted!"

A busy night is not a great excuse
for fair service and so-so food, but it no doubt contributed to our experience. Mac's has been highly recommended to us in the past so we gave it a try. SERVICE: Waitstaff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Alcohol selections are okay but nothing to write home about. Service was very slow, but the place was absolutely packed for a special holiday. It took 20 min to get drinks (besides water) and bread. But service improved through the evening. FOOD: Halibut dish with light lobster sauce was dry on margins and could have used a true sauce reduction. Mushrooms were flavorful. Blackened swordfish steak was spicy with a nice searing. The fish was a bit dry for my taste."

My husband and I dined here for
Valentine's Day. The food was wonderful. We were disappointed in one thing: the menu stated that the featured martinis were half off. I do believe we paid full price for the two we had. Otherwise, we had quite an enjoyable experience and will probably return at some point."

We had a great time with a "light"
dinner of soup, salad and Buffalo Shrimp and the Sea Scallops in a truffle cream sauce. We also had w wonderful experience because of our wait staff person Nicole. She did a really great job!"

and service was very good. Little expensive, but you only go there once in a while, so it's okay. We went there on a Saturday night and the place was packed. Since we had a reservation, it only took 5 min. to get a table."

My husband and I visited Mac's
early on a Friday night. The restaurant was already half full! We took that as a good sign. Our waiter, Jason, was great. Very friendly and informative. I had their specialty... The pan seared cod over lobster mashed potatoes. It was amazing. My husband had the shrimp and chicken creole. It was just ok. Both dishes could have been a bit warmer. Diners should be aware that happy hour pricing and free mussels apply ONLY in the bar area. We sat about five feet outside the bar in the main dining room and were denied happy hour pricing."

They have awesome gumbo. We had
the crab cake app. it was canned crab and that has a funny flavor to me. We also ordered the sword fish steak and they did not ask how we wanted it cooked which was odd.. it came out WELL done. So that was a complete bummer. I ordered the sampler and it had over done shrimp that were hard and rubbery and the scallops too were over done. I also ordered a "spicy" bloody marry. It was not spicy at all, it was just made with pepper vodka. I saw no seasonings in the bloody marry at all. I felt it was just plain tomato juice or maybe clamato. All in all I was very let down by the food. I would no go back. We ordered nothing fried.. and maybe they do fried food very well."

Service was moderately good. The time it took to get us our order was too long. Tables seated after us had their meals served, and were finishing, before our food arrived. We had no special requests, so not sure what took so long. That said, we will be back. On balance it was a good experience, and they have a menu we wish to explore some more."

My wife and I went to Mac's
Seafood Shack for our anniversary dinner. We had an enjoyable evening. We had selections from the raw bar, fresh fish entree's, and deserts. All in all, everything was up to par. The fish was nicely prepared and presented. What I enjoyed about the evening is the upscale casual feel. Good food, presented with respect and paced well, but in a casual "lobster shack" kind of feel. The atmosphere is "loud-ish" with people talking and the occasional child, but not so loud that you can't hear each other. Also, loud enough that you feel you can have a private conversation. The waiter was attentive but not smothering. I would recommend it."

Visiting our daughter who attends
UM and was interested because of ratings on Open Table. WHAT A FIND! We absolutely loved the food and service. Highly recommend the lobster mac and cheese, also the char grilled swordfish. Our waiter Larry was so attentive. And the rolls (I am a restaurant bread connoisseur) were delicious! It is about a 10 minute drive from Ann Arbor and worth it."

Disappointed that the fresh catch
menu did not have 2 items actually available. Also 2 orders of the 4 for our table were served incorrectly. On the positive side service was pleasant and they accommodated our request to share an order of lobster mac and cheese split and served 4 ways."

Great atmosphere inside or out.
Can be a little loud if you sit on the bar side. Great service. And they have a great birthday special, get your meal free with purchase of another,. However it must be ON YOUR BIRTHDATE. Have eaten here many times, and never have had a bad meal. I suggest a fish choice, cooked as you like, my favorite is the blackend sword fish, or tuna. Or even the scallops are awesome. House salad with Ranch is outstanding. Top this off with a Long Island and you are all set."
