The food was excellent and the service was really good!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTraditional American SteakhouseA great choice for a traditional American Steakhouse meal in downtown Colorado Springs. Located in the old Alamo Hotel, the first steel frame building in town, it has nice ambiance. Service was prompt and attentive. Our meals were very well prepared and quite delicious. I highly recommend MacKenzie's for steak and seafood.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service was great.Food and service was great. We will defiantly be returning.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply superb! It will keep you coming back.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat steaksGreat steaks! The creme brulee should not be missed either!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly Recommended! This was our third vist and the best. The prime rib was extraordinary and the double pork chops were delicious. The star, however, was the best cheesecake we'd ever had. The chef is from New York, and it shows in his cheesecake.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very good, and pricesFood was very good, and prices matched the food quality to make dinning a good value.
Mackenzie's is recommended.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding.I'm 27 years old and I have traveled the world and ate in a plethora of establishments. I would have to consider this in the top 5 restaurants I've dined at. The steaks and sea food was outstanding. I had the baseball new york strip and I can't recall what my girlfriend had to eat but it involved pasta and muscles. The french onion soup is by the the best I have ever had and the calamari was outstanding to say the least. We went at 1830 on a Thursday night and I was highly impressed by the team serving technique they employed and how efficiently it worked. Our bill came to $100.00 for the two of us: Wine, appetizer, french onion soup, two entrees and bread and butter. You can't beat this place for $100.00, period.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the atmosphere and steakLoved the atmosphere and steak was perfect. Would definitely go back. Toffee date cake wonderful.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWorthwhileI had eaten here a few weeks ago at lunch with a group and was very pleased, so decided to bring my wife along for a pre-concert dinner. Things started out a bit slow when we waited 10 minutes before our server acknowledged us, but the service from that point forward was very good to excellent. The food preparation and tast was very good overall. My prime rib, ordered medium, was much closer to rare, but the flavor and texture were very good. My wife had the halibut and her only real complaint was the size of the serving. A very small piece of fish. Taking everything into consideration I still give MacKenzie's Chop House four stars and we will probably try it again.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good dining experience.Very good dining experience. Highly recommend McKenzie's Chop House in downtown Colorado Springs for the great food and service, reasonable prices.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMI think its a good lunch spot.I think its a good lunch spot. Dinner was expensive. Portions were small. It
Averaged out to about 50. Bucks per head. Food quality was on par with outback steakhouse or applebees. Appitites were not sarisfied. Would have spent 500 in order to get the steakhouse feeling. Same meal @ place like roadhouse would have been 1/2
Cost and leftovers. Left dinner hungry and broke. Ambiance nice. Service standard but over bussed felt like thr bus boy was hovering. Wouldn't recommend to foodies. Its a perfect copy of a fine restaurant minus the food.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMEating at MacKenzie's is alwaysEating at MacKenzie's is always a treat. Their Seadivers Scallops are the absolute best! And the staff are so friendly; Kurtis and Rachel were wonderful. This is a very upscale restaurant with a down to earth staff.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe made sure to ask the hostessWe made sure to ask the hostess upon arrival to sit us in a quieter section of the dining room and informed the waitress that we were at MacKensie's to have a quite relaxing meal so we hopefully would NOT be rushed like in previous visits. They did a great job. I didn't feel rushed and my wife and I had the most enjoyable meal in a long time. My house special New York strip was the best steak I have ever had. The wife had the chicken marsala. AWESOME. The beef tips and brie appetizer was amazing. The menu is a little pricy, but OK for special occasions. Service excellent.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious Easter Brunch!Came here with my family of 4. Peeved a little at first because we had to wait about 15 min. for a table even though we had reservations, and then another 5 min. for our waitress to take our drink orders (she was attentive after that), but the efficient manner in which the brunch was run made up for it. Dishes were constantly replenished and the lines were short, and the food was set up in different areas (hot dishes, seafood, salads, baked goods, desserts) so you could get what you wanted quickly and easily. Prime rib was tough, but I have yet to find a buffet where the prime rib isn't - not sure why everyone insists on putting it there! Ham was tender and juicy, veggies crisp and flavorful, salads homemade and yummy, desserts to die for!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was fabulous andThe food was fabulous and we enjoyed our evening out very much.
