  • "I chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner with a group of 16. Most of us ordered the Monday half price burger and everyone likesd the food. I liked the cocktail I ordered too. I brought in a whole cake from outside and the restaurant served it with very good service. The restaurant is inside St. Gregory hotel so has nice and luxury atmosphere but the food is reasonable at all. Good location from work too. There is a small bar and I would use for a couple dinner and lunch too."

  • "I went here because I was celebrating my birthday with about 8 of my friends. They were very accommodating when it came to the large group. The atmosphere was great and the waiter kept our glasses filled with mimosas throughout the brunch. The only negative thing was that most of us ordered the chicken and waffles, but there was a malfunction with the waffle maker and some folks ended up getting pancakes instead, which to me defeats the purpose of chicken and WAFFLES. Also the waffle was cold so that bothered me. In their defense the last time I went there with just me and my boyfriend, the chicken and waffles were hot and delicious. So it could've just been prime time.Def recommend!!! Fav brunch spot of all time!"

  • "M Street took very good care of my large group and everything worked out well. Table was happy with the drinks and food. It was difficult that we couldn't split the checks but understand why it can't be done."

  • "Dinner for 4 was very enjoyable. Friends totally enjoyed it."

  • "One of us ordered the Shrimp & Grits, which was very good & the other the Eggs Benedict, which was just OK....used deli ham instead of Canadian bacon & the breakfast potatoes were hard with an overwhelming rosemary seasoning. Wish they had offered the yummy grits instead. The basket of pastries were nice, but cold; even a slight heating would have made them delicious. Overall, this was a good brunch with generous pourings of sparkling wine, etc. However, we were guests at the hotel & discovered the next day that we should have been offered a $3.00 discount per person."

  • "Took a group of eight from work and it was a beautiful table they gave us. Also, everyone said their meal was excellent. I didn't like the dumpling soup, it was pure garlic. But the vegetable panini was great and the rolls they serve were delicious."

  • "we had a table of eight people and although the restaurant was busy we had to wait TWO HOURS for our food…. once we realized how busy the waitress seemed to be, we decided to order drinks/apps/food at the same time. the apps came out in a timely manner and then it took literally two hours for our dinner to come. during this two hours another table of seven say down, ordered their food, got their food, ate their food, and left. I'm not sure why are food took so long but we were also given no reason and just simple statements like "your food should be out in a second.." multiple times. Good food, but not worth the wait."

  • "My group of four made a 2:15 reservation for the Sunday brunch. Two of us arrived just before 2:15, with the other two were running behind because of the bad weather. Right when we sat down we were served drinks (not given the option of champagne--just mimosas are offered), and greeted warmly. A couple minutes later the manager came up to us and said the last time to order food is 2:15 because we have to leave at 3pm. We were a bit taken aback by this, because why would they allow us to make a 2:15 reservation if that is the last time the kitchen can take an order? Even if we all were there by 2:15 (the others arrived at 2:20), we would need time to look over the menu. We ended up calling our friends and ordering for them over the phone..."

  • "This place was wonderful to accommodate my party of 20. Small enough to never be looked over but enough room to feel comfortable. Dan was my server and he was great. Could not have asked for more from this place. My NY strip was cooked perfectly and paired with broccolini and mashed potatoes. I'm Going back for brunch and def bringing a date here. Also this place has an AMAZING drink list. 3/4 drink ranging in price from $5-$12 bucks."

  • "This is really a great place for lunch if you are interested in having a conversation. The noise level is quite low. The accomodations are comfortable and attractive, and the service is attentive, but not intrusive. The food is quite decent as well."

  • "I WANTED TO CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY WITH YOU. This was my first time back to your restaurant in a few years and the Sunday Jazz Brunch experience was delightful. My friend and I want to come back in a few weeks for either Sunday brunch again or your happy hours/. The food, the setting and the music were perfect."

  • "The restaurant was very nice about taking a large group of 11 with only a 3 day advance reservation. The restaurant is very attractive inside and our server was very professional, friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the fish soup and the lox benedict very much and most of my friends liked their food, although a couple complained that theirs arrived cold. Dessert is not their strong point."

  • "I selected this restaurant for my birthday brunch, and i'm so glad that I did! The food was delicious, and they had vegetarian options all the way down the menu which was a nice change! I did the prix-fixe 3 course option with unlimited Mimosas, at no point did I have to ask for a refill. Josh kept our glasses full the entire time we were there :). We were there far longer than i anticipated, yet we never felt rushed! I will definitely be returning to this restaurant. I've also heard they have great happy hours during the week!"

  • "Some friends and I decided to take advantage of President's Day laziness and meet up for lunch and M Street Bar and Grill hit the spot. The food was delicious, definitely try the quinoa salad with protein of your choice, and the service was very attentive. I'll be adding the restaurant to my dining rotation permanently!"

  • "the ambiance was surprisingly nice. the service was excellent. i got a waldorf salad, lobster tail and chocolate brownie dessert this past valentine's day. the salad was very good. the lobster was chewy and dry (sauce was good) and the dessert was dry/stale. but the price, ambiance and excellent service made up for the lacking in some of the freshness of the food."

  • "The menu offered was not as advertised. There was a much more limited selection then posted online. The food we selected was good though, and the location convenient, but the server was mildly obnoxious."

  • "M Street Bar & Grill provided the perfect atmosphere for a romantic Valentine's Day dinner with my spouse. They were very flexible with my reservation, making changes on my schedule. The staff was quite attentive and responsive to our needs. Each course was brought out at the right time, and the drinks were replenished as needed without asking. As first timer at this restaurant, the overall this was quite a wonderful dining experience, so don't let the "Bar & Grill" moniker fool you, it is far removed from that."

  • "My fiancee and I booked the M Street Bar and Grill for our engagement brunch on 2/9/14 and we were simply blown away at the level of professionalism and customer service the restaurant provided in ensuring that our experience was nothing less than excellent. The food was amazing in addition to the space provided. Very accomodating staff that anticipated every one of our needs. We've decided to make M Street Bar and Grill a regular on our list for future Sunday brunches! Thanks for the great experience and exceptional customer service!"

  • "I went with a group and we chose the 3 course brunch option. The only appetizers were beef stew or two heavy salads. Not how I usually start my day, all the food was tasty but the menu did not seem to mesh. Service was great and drinks were constantly refilled. I would return but maybe order a la carte."

  • "The best place for a quiet yet upscale lunch, lively happy hour or a jazzy brunch. M Street has a lot to offer and I love the half off burger Mondays! The brunch is plentiful and delicious with live entertainment by Yvonne...french toast is superb and love the mimosas! Great restaurant overall in the city!"

  • "My husband and I ended up here unexpectedly after my cousin was unable to meet me for dinner as we'd planned. After dinner with my husband I made another reservation for the next week for my cousin and I to come back. I had the curry shrimp which was delicious and my husband enjoyed the short rib. Also, they have jalapenos and chickpeas sprinkled in with the calamari. Sounds crazy but it was delicious! The restaurant is beautiful and if get a chance to go this month take advantage of their month long Restaurant Week specials. It includes their entire menu. The service was great, the food fantastic and the deal is worth coming back for at least once a week all through the month."

  • "A group of 6 of us arrived for Sunday brunch on 12/22. I had made reservations thinking the restaurant would be packed, but it was far from busy. I'm not sure if this was just due to everyone leaving the city, but the food was good, the service was wonderful, and we had a great day. Highly recommend!"

  • "Touted as a fine Sunday brunch, this one is certainly not. Waited 10 minutes for service and started with an ok but very small bloody mary A basic caesar without much flavor was followed by Eggs Benedict in which the egg yolks were completely solid and sandwich ham. The chocolate mousse was good, and appeared to have flecks of oreo in it. The place was quite loud. All in all, a disappointment, and I don't recommend it."
    Dined on 12/15/2013
  • "The first impressions were kind of negative. The decor seems dated and the place had kind of a "the places need a serious remodel" feel to it. The initial service efforts seem disorganized and the question was "do we bail or not?" Given the weather, we decided to stick it out and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. the only food negative? Huge portions. Wear dark glasses and go for the good food."

  • "Great brunch place for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Entertaining jazz with some familiar tunes. The menu was varied and enough choice for vegetarians as well with both appetizers and mains. Good value for money. Bottomless champagne or mimosas. Champagne was a bit sweet for my liking - prefer dry. Main course was served too quickly - we had not finished eating our appetizer."

  • "We were fortunate enough to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at M Street Bar & Grill, and the food and service were both amazing! Great food and the service was even better. It was a quiet day, so I don't know how the ambience is when all the tables are full, but it was very enjoyable for Thanksgiving. They also had football on at the bar, and it seemed that Happy Hour (or games) would also be a fun experience. Will definitely be back! (They also have a nice Marilyn sculpture in the lobby, FYI.)"

It was relaxing with the right combination of energy. Then there were our meals.....absolutely delicious and served beautifully. I recommend M street Bar & Grille to anyone who wants a wonderful dining experience. I know we will be back!"
