M Restaurant is part of The Morris House Hotel that was originally built over two hundred years ago and was converted to a boutique hotel and restaurant ten years ago. We have many unique spaces to host events. The first, our hotel library, has a working fireplace in winter and access to our garden in the summer. We also have a quaint dining room in the hotel, as well as our main dining room and bar, and our formal garden, all for rent for private parties. Reminiscent of being in the south of France, our venue will take you to another world.
We have many hotel guests from Europe who stay with us because it reminds them of home. Situated right in the heart of center city, the hotel and restaurant takes you away from the many stresses of urban life. It offers a serenity and tranquility not found in any other venue in all of Philadelphia. It truly is a hidden gem, just a block from Washington Square and the historic district of Independence Hall.

We are proud to support local farmers and serve sustainably raised produce, meat and fish. Our chef Aaron Bellizzi comes to us from Le Cirque, Gilt, and Benoit in NY, as well as Fish and akitchen here in Phila., both of which received 3 stars from Craig LeBan during his tenure there. We are honored to have Aaron on board as our executive chef.
Come experience the best kept secret in all of Philadelphia and escape to another world! We serve dinner from 5-10 on Tues.-Sat., and have Happy Hour Tues-Sat from 5-7:00pm. Join us for Jazz Wednesdays from 7-9 pm where local musicians play in our cozy elegant French bar.
