Our guests ordered several types of sushi and the flavor/taste was "off'. It was over Labor Day weekend and the place was quiet. I will have to try M's again before I write it off as a place to enjoy Asia food.

M Grille served us a quite good brunch on Sunday, August 24. My roll was quite spicy, well formed and of perfect taste. My wife had the crab cakes which she found very good. The sushi here is wonderful and the Chinese presentation is well focused by Michelle Wang. It is a pleasure to eat there.

I will give M Grill another chance. But this was our first visit and our experience was pretty bad. Don't bother making a reservation. It seems that they don't even check for them. Food arrived piecemeal. I shared mine with my friend because hers didn't arrive until we had to leave. Its no fun when one couple's food arrives and you have to sit snd wait for the other two meals. And wait. And wait. Server was great, but there seemed to be total chaos otherwise--and the restaurant was only half full! I hope this place does better another time. It's an attractive restaurant, and I want them to succeed. And they did give us an unexpected gift certificate to make up for the crummy service.

M Grille is usually closed on Sunday, but was open for a special Mother's Day brunch. The menu was traditional brunch fare -- Eggs Benedict, Shrimp and Grits, French Toast ... The food was very good, but very different from the usual M Grille food, which is Asian. The restaurant is very attractive; modern, light, and airy. We enjoyed our experience but have no way to rate the restaurant for a normal lunch or dinner.

Way out of character for Michelle's restaurants in Columbia. We are regulars at Miyo's in Harbison. The food and service there is always exceptional. Our waitress did not know specials, called my wife "babe" twice and "darlin" once. The food was mediocre to poor. Cold, poorly cooked and oily crab cakes appetizer. My scallops were bland without any sauces. My wife's lobster pizza was soggy. Really could not recommend to anyone.

This was a wonderful first-time experience. We went on a Tuesday evening for "date night". It was busy, but not crowded. The seating was a little different than I was used to. Not very romantic at first, but the server allowed us to adjust the table so we could sit next to each other instead of across from each other. I loved the food, the service, the atmosphere. It was just lovely. We had reservations, arrived a little early and were seated promptly. I wouldn't bring children to M Grille. This was an adult atmosphere with an adult menu. We will definitely be back.

When we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty and the hostess was totally uninterested in the fact that we had reservations. We ordered appetizers to share and main courses. The appetizers arrived quickly. The shrimp were very good, but the Korean ribs were tough. Before we were half finished with the appetizers, the waitress appeared with our main courses and attempted to leave them on a table next to ours. We asked that they be taken back, since we weren't ready for them. The food was placed on a service area near the kitchen. Bowls were placed over the rice. Eventually they disappeared, but were redelivered to our table lukewarm. Only green tea cheesecake and unappetizing cupcakes available for dessert.

Don't know why I was surprised, but the sushi here was quite good. Some were better than others, but a new twist was the fruit sushi. Almost like a dessert, it was a typical sushi roll, but with avocado, cream cheese, mango and strawberry on a "bed" of honey. Could have done with less if the cream cheese (overwhelmed the honey), but ended up bring my favorite. Sake selection is adequate; needs a daiginjo option. Service very capable and accommodating.

The food was excellent especially the sea weed salad, and Korean BBQ rib entrées. The main courses were also very good a scallops dish and a new take on Peking duck. ( a fajita twist) We didn't particularly enjoy the brown rice, but that may be a taste thing. The sorbet for desert was excellent also.

We had good food, good portions, but the service was lacking. We had a group of 7 people. He spoke quietly and the restaurant was very loud, so we had a difficult time communicating - also he could not answer basic menu questions. Some items were misunderstood, other orders were delayed. One of the appetizers came out with the entrees. It was kind of a mess in terms of service. Not sure if he was overwhelmed or just new. He was apologetic for the delays and brought the table a couple of salads on-the-house to share for the table, but did not clearly communicate what they were or who they were for, so the gesture was a bit lost on our group. It was still an enjoyable meal, but diminished by the amateur waiter.

I was a little late in making Valentine's Day plans this year but I found that M Grille had an availability for 10:15. I was excited because my gf & I had been wanting to try this place & we dont mind eating late. The second we sat down, the guy who filled our drinks told us to hurry up & order b/c they were closing in 15 min. The server told us we could stay & she could tell the cooks to stay for 2 more & we could be there while they clean. The staff complained about OpenTable, which has always worked for me in the past & was how I planned my night. I have never felt so immediately uncomfortable at a restaurant. We left & will not be returning. Either dont list that time available or dont act like a paying customer on V-Day is a big hassle

Arrived 10 minutes before our reservation, no where to sit to wait. Bar was full, but it was Valentines, so understandable. Had to stand in a corner to wait for our table. Server really did not engage us during the wait, but we were seated within 10 minutes of reservation time, which was fine. The seating is very close, I.E. you either become friends with the people beside you, or you must stare directly ahead. Couples were seated within two feet on either side of us. Our sever did a good job, he brought out our drinks promptly. The steaks were not very good, both of ours were full of fat. I have had better cuts of meat from the grocery store. I guess I should have known better than to order steak at an Asian Restaurant!

I was very impressed with this meal. The atmosphere was more of a crisp, modern decor. The food was well prepared. The Baby back ribs were nicely seasoned. The crispy pork belly was also worthy. I liked the Peking Duck as an appetizer. It is flavored as a Moo Shoo duck would be with hoison sauce. Finally, the Za Jan noodle is recommended. Only complaint is lack of espresso at end of meal. We did not have desert so cannot comment on that course. I am very pleased to find this restaurant and plan to return.

We only ate sushi and I was VERY unimpressed. I usually like ALL food.. and dont usually complain. But this sushi was MUSHY, flavor-less, and just a BIG disappointment altogether. We got 3 rolls, plus 2 glasses of wine each (2 people) and our bill was $100--not too bad for sushi and wine; HOWEVER--no one likes spending any money of that sort for poor quality food. I can not comment on any of their dinner entree options (other than sushi). Our server (girl in college at USC; brown hair) was AMAZING! She is so friendly, patient and helpful! I hate to write a bad food review but the service is exceptional!
