We had a nice, round table, good warm bread & cinn butter, and 3 of the 6 diners liked their entrees. Two asked for more dressing for their salads & it only came after several reminders; my salad was lettuce with dressing, not the salad described. The dinners came right away, and they said they could not keep them warm because of 2 other large parties. Huh? My parm crusted flounder was fishy, the trout tasteless and the tilapia fair. One person's drink never came. It was our waiter's 2nd night. He was struggling & got no back-up. The mgr came once but never came back. When things go wrong for a new server, they need to help him. They took off the salads and two of the entrees (minimum) & didn't even offer desserts or coffee on the house.

Felt like I was in a fast food restaurant, our entrees were served before we were half way finished our soup. The shrimp that I had were not cooked properly, almost raw, and because the entrees were served prematurely they were cold when we ate them. Bar service was slow and it took 15 minutes to get our desserts. Very disappointing. Also the restaurant is quite loud.

We recently traveled to Baltimore with a group of six and found out that they were having a weekend celebration for the 200th anniversary of the Star-Spangled Banner. We wanted to eat near the festivities and arrived 40 mins early for our reservation, however, we were seated immediately and outside! Our server was very attentive, regardless of the busy atmosphere and loud music from the festival. A few people in our group were being rather picky and specific and our server did his best to accommodate them. Our food was delicious and we really enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere and had a really nice night. We never felt rushed to leave and spent almost 2 hours at the restaurant and had a great time!

This was my first visit to this M&S Grill, and it lived up to my expectations. We dinned there on an extremely busy day, but service was great and the food was delicious. Fish and Chips were out of this world. Restaurant was crowded, but we had reservations and didn't have to wait at all. Great view of the Inner Harbor. Wonderful experience all around.

We went to try out some good fresh fish. I got one of the grill plates which was about $30. When I got it the portion sizes were smaller than expected. I started to eat my salmon which tasted very good, only to realize that as I started to eat it, it was almost completely raw! Our server was very honest and agreed it shouldn't be like that. Apparently management had a hard time understanding that. They comped us a dessert and that's it, the manager didn't even come over to talk to us. Needless to say we won't go back

I have eaten here many times. The food is generally quite good. Service, however, has always been an issue. My Open Table reservation was not acknowledged, which resulted in an inquiry about an alleged no-show. This visit, no water was offered and we needed to ask. The waitress poured a bottle of wine as if it were a beer; clearly, she had no training. Pacing of service was poor with entrees coming before salads were done and no offer to take them back. No offer of dessert or coffee. I'll be back for the food, but please get some better help.

I've been to M&S Grille before so was somewhat disappointed with our latest experience. It was warm in the restaurant and my husband's beer came out warm. Our appetizer took forever and we had to ask for bread and that also took forever. The manager did come talk to us after we'd been waiting an hour for our app, bread, and beer and she did take the beer and app off of our bill. However, even after the manager came over our entrees took another 25 minutes to come out. I ordered the scallops (because they ran out of trout), which was just okay. Overall, nothing to write home about though I still enjoyed the evening with my husband.

  • Good food, service unprepared...

Have eaten here many times and food is consistently good. We were seated promptly with our Open Table reservation for 6 people, which was good. However, the service staff, while friendly and apologetic, was clearly unprepared for the volume of guests. This was the weekend of Otakon AND an Orioles game. The place was loud and crowded...and it was a LONG meal. Thankfully, we were not in a hurry, but closer cooperation among wait staff and better supervision could have gone a long way to making sure things kept moving if a server got overwhelmed.

I heard Good Things About the Restaurant so decided to try it out. I ordered the Seafood Platter adding a Crab Cake. It took over 20mins for my food to come then it had no taste like the chef forgot how to use salt and pepper. What happen to that so called Old Bay Seasoning, guess they ran out that night. I wont be visiting this Place ever again, a waste of my $140.00

Party of 7 ate lunch and we all agreed the food was good. From the burgers to sandwiches to appetizers we enjoyed all of them. The service was sub-par. We were forced to wait when the dinning room was empty. Only after approaching the stewardess about the situation did she seat us. A big pet-peeve is when the waitress is too lazy to walk around the table to collect dirty dishes and instead asks us to do her job. If there was no room, I would understand. Of course there is the air-conditioner problem, but that is more of the building that the restaurant is in than the restaurant. So be prepared to be hot in the summer.

Our waiter was pleasant, but there were too many simple things that should have been done better for a restaurant of this quality (slow in getting to the table initially when the restaurant was fairly empty, had to ask several times for us to repeat our orders, asked us if we wanted bread but didn't bring it until we asked at least 10 minutes later, took a long time to get a second drink request from one of my daughters, only checked in with us once after the meal was brought, slow in getting to us after it was clear all of us were finished eating).

We made these reservations to celebrate our son's 21st bday and the Fourth of July at the Inner harbour. We arrived early for our table- I had requested outdoor seating and they sat us inside with no view, waited 1 hr 40 min for our food and when it arrived our food was cold. No one wished our son happy birthday and our waiter barely spoke to us. We did feel well taken care of at all and in fact mostly forgotten. My husband talked to the manager and he apologized and after my husband stated that this was unacceptable for M&S grille and that we wod not be charged the manager apologized, agreed & we did not pay for the meal. We go to M&S restaurants in Va often and have excellent service and a wonderful time. a crowded holiday but stil...

Nice atmosphere but suspect service..we dined at 5 PM during a shift changover and it was very evident by the confusion and servers need to recheck entrees and sides that were being offered..restaurant was lacking in its A/C also..to warm..had problem with soup which the manager replaced at no cost..entree was luke warm and absent of the side dish which came after we had finished..inspite of all this the server was very friendly and as helpful as he could be...will try next time later in evening but still no excuse.

We've eaten at M&S at the inner harbor a few times before and the experience was generally good but not great. Four of us eat at M&S on Saturday (6/28) after the O's game. The reservation was fine as was the seating. After ordering we experienced a lengthy wait for our food and when the food was served it was barely warm. Even had a hard time getting the attention of the server to get the check.

We're in our 50's and HATE being referred to as "Young Man" and "Young Lady." Next, while he was taking our order he said "excuse me" and walked away. Apparently the next table's request to see a manager was more important than completing our order. Then, after waiting over 20 minutes for our food he came back and took our order a second time saying he didn't see it in the back, and proceeded to roll the kitchen under the bus. Finally, to top it off he asked how things were and I said "muy bien." His reply? I'm from the West Indies and I don't speak Spanish," and then referred to Spanish as "monkey language." I would have asked to see a manager, but the delay already put us close to missing the first pitch at the Orioles game.

The food was GREAT! We originally requested to dine outdoors . The view is beautiful!! But it got a little humid out that night, so we decided to dine indoors. There are plenty of tables with a great view also. Overall it was really great. I would call it fabulous, but the initial service was quite slow. We waited a VERY long time for a glass of water. ( the little things really do count). The restaurant was not that crowded, so no real excuse for that on a hot night. Putting that aside, M&S has "fine dining" quality food in a comfortable, casual environment. A GREAT place to go !!

We visit the grill frequently for business lunches. Three salads took more than 45 minutes from time of order -- after nearly 10 to get a waiter for drink orders. Worse, we only saw our waiter once during the food wait time - after the initial order taking. We arrived at the beginning of the lunch crowd intentionally to avoid the kitchen rush. Had to walk inside to the hostess stand to prompt them to bring our food. M&S - you can do much better than that!

We made the reservation for my husband's birthday while we were visiting family in the DC area and were excited to see a bit o Baltimore before we returned home to New York. This did not turn out as we hoped. The views were nice but then it went down hill from there. We order drinks and appetizers which both took 27 minutes to get to our table. The Amaretto sour my mom and husband ordered were terrible...no Amaretto! They told us they made their own homemade juice...why....you have a bar and should be able to make basic alcoholic drinks. Then the main course took another 55 minutes after our appetizers arrived. This turned into a 3.5 hour ordeal which was crazy!!

Do not take anyone you care about to this restaurant. I have dined there before on a non holiday and it wasn't good then either. It is a waste of time and money. There is no value for the amount of money you will spend there, Specifically, if you can make a dry biscuit, thaw out some strawberries, and buy a container of cool whip you just made their version of strawberry shortcake. You just saved $9.

For the first time in my life well over a half of century...I sent back my entire meal. We ordered the "Chef's recommendation" Oyster Po’boy. The oysters were the size of marbles and overcooked...service on a previously frozen half of grocery store French baguette which was cold! 2 of the wines we wanted on the menu they didn't have. To appease the waiter who assured me the food was great...I ordered the M&S hamburger...when it showed up after my husband was done his poor meal it was not the burger I ordered and they charged me $2 more than they should of. We paid our $50 check and left we both got very nauseous and had to buy antacids. No attention to detail...terrible quality food...dirty floors, chairs and tables...inattentive staff.
