A word from M & J Bistro

M & J Bistro first opened its doors in 2008 to provide Tracy with a taste of San Francisco cuisine. We pride ourselves on quality and consistency and feature items such as Certified Angus Beef, fresh seafood, lamb, clam chowder, hand-picked produce, gourmet sandwiches, bold salads, delicious… appetizers and decadent desserts. We also offer gluten-free and vegetarian options.
Each guest is treated like a VIP, and we strive to exceed expectations... whether sitting at the bar, enjoying a romantic dinner in the dining room or attending a business function.

"The salmon was wonderful and my husband had the ribeye. We also had seared tuna and very much enjoyed the blue cheese sauce. The place is small and therefore you end up sitting very close to other people so it isn't the best if you were trying for private conversation. Service was very professional and did a great job."

"A real treat in the middle of Tracy. The service was excellent, attentive, friendly and informative. The food was top notch, tasty, fish was done to perfection, the shaved potatoes a great surprise. i highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants great food."

"With an area filled with chain restaurants, what a delight to find good food, service and ambiance. My colleagues and I enjoyed gourmet food that was reasonably priced. The salads and paninis were delicious and save room for the dessert crepes. Anytime I'm in Tracy, I'll heading to M & J for lunch!"

"We had a business lunch during the middle of the week. My lunch guests work a couple miles from the restaurant but did not know of it. Our waiter was very professional and most attentive.The food was tasty and well presented. We had a very enjoyable experience.I will come back with my wive some evening to see what it is like for dinner. I was impressed. Thanks Open Table for letting me find this little gem."

"A great place for dinner. My wife and I were looking for a new spot for dinner and decided to try M&J Bistro. We were amazed at the service and food! Elijah made us feel like we were long time customers even though this was our first time. When the appetizer came out (Grilled Vegetables), the taste was fabulous! A wonderful blend of veggies and oil. Our entrees were cooked to perfection. The Salmon was excellently prepared with a sweet glaze which made me want more. My wife's telapia on a bed of spinach was also wonderful. We definitely will come back!!"

"This is a great find in the middle of the Central Valley. The halibut was cooked just right on top of mashed potatoes with streaks of spinach that were fluffy and delicious. The shaved potatoes were a first for us and a definite reorder. Crispy and light. Dessert was a wonderful crepe with bananas, chocolate, carmel and whip cream. Very light and tasteful. Truly a place that we would revisit."

"Limited menu, expensive for what is offered. They advertise a "Taste of San Francisco", what they should say is the "Price of San Francisco". Very loud, ambiance lacking, to the point of annoying. Not to say that they are not trying, dishes presented were creative & different. Wait staff was congenial and informative, but it took us over 30 minutes to be presented with our soup/salads. A small venue, we were a one of four parties seated, but everything took an extremely long time to appear at the table. I wish them luck, we won't go back."
