  • "L'ybane had good Mediterranean appetizers that satisfied our group of six. We ordered the Mediterranean Ap Plate along with a delicious cucumber salad and other small aps. Do you feel like you are brought back to the Middle East? Not really-its definitely a place that caters to tourists but the food is good. The waiters were friendly and helpful. It was a little bit annoying how they tried to keep taking out plates even though we had not finished. However, if we have family in from out of town again, and the theater is located near this place, I would return."

  • "While food was good and waiter friendly and accommodating, overall experience felt below par and touristy. Water served in carafe without ice. Bread (no butter or olive oil) served only on request. Pricing bit high for bar - restaurant. Convenient location for Broadway show attendees. Note that jazz music is available Tuesdays and Fridays after 9:30PM."

  • "The food is well prepared, but the restaurant does not look like the website. The restaurant is worth a return visit."

  • "The waitress alone is a good reason to not revisit this restaurant."

  • "The location is good.but food is only average. The malbec we tried was great but desserts were disappointing. The bill for 2 drinks, 3 entrees and 2 desserts was 120, which is average for nyc standard."

  • "L'Ybane was not exactly what I expected after reading the other reviews and visiting their website, but overall I was pleasantly surprised. My husband and I visited NYC for Valentine's Day and we love Mediterranean food so L'Ybane seemed like a great choice. It was also only a block away from the theatre we were going to after our meal so it was really convenient! Service was good - at times, I think our waiter was a little over-attentive. The food was great, authentic and the portions were perfect. Not a bad martini list either! Lastly, for being right in the middle of the Theatre District, the prices were reasonable. For the two of us with three appetizers, two entrees, two cocktails and coffees, the bill was under $100 (pre-tip)."

  • "My wife and I found this place just passing by, several years ago. We both like medditerranean/Middle Eastern food, and have loved it. Many of our friends though, are only Italian or American restaurant types. We have recently taken two couples here, and while BOTH couples initially looked at the menus with some concern, after some advice from us, and the staff, I am pleased to say, both couples left raving, they never would've tried a place like this on their own, and professed to really have enjoyed the new dining experience. Thanks L'Ybane!"

  • "The food was just so-so and it came out suspiciously fast. The restaurant was quite noisy, especially since we were there at a time when it was not very crowded (5:30PM). The service was brusque. Not a place I would go back to any time soon."

  • "L'ybane is pretty noisy in the early evening but the food is very good and it is definitely worth a visit when you are in the Theater District"

  • "We went not knowing anything but the reviews on line and it was close to the theatre. We were treated to an excellent meal too boot. We tried the fried chickpeas and wanted that to be our whole meal. It was served with a salad that was just as good. Main meals werethesampler platters, mine was the shrimp. All the offerings were delicious and varied. We left happy and full."

  • "This was our first time at L'ybane. We enjoyed the small plates and various Mediterranean inspried dishes. The shrimp beignets were not what we expected but were excellent; the shrimp were huge and very tasty. The lamb sausage was spicy and very good and the chick pea fritters were very good. The service was also excellent. We chose this restaurant becuase it was close to our hotel and the weather was very nasty. We are glad we found it!"

  • "Great place for a nice dinner before a broadways show! L'ybane is a casual restaurant right in the theater district. The menu is Mediterranean and typical American and I would have liked to see more Lebanese items on the menu. They have a good selection of small plates and I enjoyed the Falafel and vegetarian Musaka. Both were excellent and just the right size. Lamb chops and clams seemed to be very popular with the other quests as well. Service was very attentive and fast yet not too hurried so I recommend for a nice dinner before a show."

  • "L'ybane is a little gem in the theatre district. Cordial, efficient staff, a wonderfully diverse menu of French and Lebanese cuisine... entrées, small plates, and my new favorite cocktail, a "Dark 'n Fluffy." I had the baby lamb chops, they were perfectly cooked as was the side dish of roasted asparagus. Prices are average for NYC, and they also do a Happy Hour. We enjoyed this place so much pre-theater, we went back after the show! for drinks and dessert right at the bar. Recommended, yes."

  • "Went for a pre-theater dinner at L'Ybane. Very convenient location near many theaters, and the menu had a nice mix of Greek and continental dishes. Sadly, the food was very bland and was not worth what looked initially like reasonable prices, due to blandness and lack of amenities (no bread, sides, etc.) Staff was friendly and service was pretty efficient. Tap water served without ice. Waiter forgot ordered side dish and didn't mention ice tea was bottled, sweetened variety. Dishes had no flavor. Spice it up!"

  • "wasn't sure what to expect but the restaurant was better than I thought it would be and reasonable for the area. It was a good location for theater going and the food was tasty. I've had better but it was fine and the portions were plentiful. I would return again."

  • "We went to L'ybane for two reasons. The restaurant had good reviews, and Rick Bogart played there. We used to go to Sepphies at Le Parker Meridien, and Bogart and his friends always made that a good visit. The service at L'ybane is great, as is the food. and Mr Bogart still knows how to play. We will definitely be back next time we visit New York."

  • "Great service and you can call them by name. Very consistent food and great brick walled dining space. Enough privacy and not too loud. My favorite is the shrimp Beignets."

  • "Had the Chef's Choice combination so we could try a lot of different items. Enjoyed the variety, but I would have preferred being able to choose specific items as there were two we would not have selected. The wait staff was attentive and pleasant. All in all, an enjoyable experience."

  • "We were excited about going here after checking out their website. The pictures and menu on their website were different from the actual restaurant which was a disappointment. They have a location in France so perhaps that menu is different. The website did not indicate the NY location was different. Great marketing to lure you in."

  • "L'ybane is well situated for Broadway shows. The food is interesting and delicious. The restaurant is hectic and noisy in the pre-theater crush, however the service is highly efficient."

  • "Ordered the steak and pomme frites special....was told after we had ordered and opened a bottle of wine (at a 40% mark up) that a glass of wine was part of the "special". The steak was tough and the french fries were limp and tasteless. I would never go back!"

  • "We had a reservation for 6 pm and arrived in the city earlier than expected. There was no traffic! :) The restaurant accommodated our early reservation - np. This was our 1st time dining at this restaurant and were very satisfied. The food & service was excellent and we'd definitely visit again."
