After a hot day in Atlanta the the oysters, nigiri, steak tar tar, and horchata ice cream were the perfect end to that day. The freshest, most succulent bluefin belly was pricey but worth it. It melted in my mouth. Not once will you smell or taste anything fishy or strong. The staff were awesome, attentive and friendly. No pretentiousness, just the perfect food and great people.

The location is great for us. But it is pricey. The nigiri is priced for one piece as a true sushi bar would charge for two. It is good but not that different. The small plates are outstanding. The main courses are good. The trout is especially nice but I would prefer a more flavorful accompaniment than lentils. More than a little boring. The chicken (in a decidedly seafood centric restaurant) was exceptional. The sweet corn sauce with the chicken was the best thing of the night. The eggplant with rock shrimp was so good. So it's a great food place. The service is good, not exceptional. The room is nice. It's a little on the pricey side at $135 for two. But enjoyed very much. We'll be back.

Great service and fabulous food. We will be back....will try soon for lunch too. Really liked the menu- we ordered appetizers and nigiri only as there were so many appetizers we wanted to try. Contrary to other reviews, the portions were plenty. The crab toast is to die for. We ordered it again for dessert. The only suggested improvement is the dessert menu- limited and uninteresting selections. But, then again there is the crab toast to fall back on.

We had amazing oysters here, along with top notch live clam and mackerel nigiri. We followed that up with trout roe on honeyed toast points, squid and spicy potatoes, and finally, sea urchin-bacon tagliatelle and whole branzino. One friend said the pasta was honestly the best he had ever tasted in his life. The whole branzino is one of my favorites, too. Service is attentive, friendly, but non-intrusive. This is a great find - highly recommended!

My wife and I dined at the sushi bar, and had a nice night out. The first thing that caught our eye were the fantastic hand painted murals of giant octopi against the white walls. Fun and interesting, but still clean and sleek. They had more unusual nigiri than your typical sushi bar, and the live scallops were a definite highlight. Don't come here expecting spicy tuna rolls and mayo sauce. This is where you want to come to broaden your sushi horizons and taste the true flavor of a fish - a rare find in Atlanta! So a 1/2 dozen east and west coast oysters, a pile of lemony fried sardines, and a hearty disc of toothsome beef tartare later, we left with a lasting impression. Looking forward to going back to try new dishes.

I took my husband to Lusca for his birthday we had an amazing dinner. The manager sat us in a great table by the window and brought us complimentary glasses of prosecco to start our celebration. Our waitress was super -- she did not rush us, but was attentive and gave detailed descriptions of dishes we asked about. We tried all of the mussels, some nigiri, and then split a pasta entree. Everything was fresh and delicious Excellent cocktails and wine selection as well. We will definitely return!

We just ate for the first time at Lusca and it is definitely a great new find. It was a small birthday celebration and it certainly lived up to the occasion. All the food was fabulous from the raw oysters (East and West Coast) to the charcuterie (heaven) to the inventive fish dishes. Possibly the best was the dry aged ribeye. Didn't know there was a fish I'd never heard of much less tried but it was wonderful. Sounds like the menu changes often as they definitely use fresh local ingredients (peach and avocado salad--yum). We will definitely go back to this gem!

The place was empty when we got there and it took 10 minutes before we met our waiter and 20 minutes before we got our drinks. Our waiter was very impressed with himself and the restaurant but did not seem to care about serving us at all. He as consistently slow and did not provide real service. The food was just ok. The meat tray was very unimpressive and when we told the manager we thought it was odd on a meat try to get headcheese, two pates and one meat selection he made up some lame excuse about curing their own meat. Of course he did not know I had friend dine there the day before and they got a true selection of meat. I don't think Lusca is long for Atlanta's competitive restaurant scene unless they make some serious changes.

...if you read them as a whole. Lusca is creative, energetic place with very good food and excellent oysters. That being said, the comments about price/portion size are spot-on. The menu prices are ~30% higher (50% for the oysters) than comparable quality restaurants and the portions are quite small. It's hard to eat a reasonably-sized meal for <$50 (before drinks), which could really limit the number of people who will frequent the place once the novelty and hot-spot status begin to fade. I am a fan and wish Lusca every success, but I hope they will take all of the feedback seriously.

Gorgeous, elegant and creative, though simple, presentation, preparation, flavors and textures. Healthy, fresh, bright....every flavor stands apart and shines on its own. Sashimi seems as if it still lives. Service was excellent; sincerely friendly, enthusiastic and personable. Decor is simple, clean, sophisticated and quirky. I wish for outdoor dining, quieter dining room and less wine mark up. Still, this was a remarkably memorable, delicious and enjoyable dining experience.

Very very good food with interesting twists to each dish. Interesting sushi selection and oysters, followed by a wide selection of creative smaller plates. Had a fish I've never seen in Atlanta, spicy squid, and a well prepared summery pear and avocado salad. Wine list has a lot of very different wines on it. So be ready overall for something different, but good. Call me quite impressed. I hope it makes it in this eternally jinxed restaurant location...

Even hesitant dinners at my table gobbled down the sea urchin pasta! Brandade it amazing and the chicken with ricotta dumplings is so good you will moan at first bite. Desserts were not only pretty but delicious. My favorite the blueberry tart. So excited to have this terrific spot close by.

We went to Lusca with a group of 6 people. The food was good overall. However, the service was VERY slow. Also, on the menu they list side vegetables to "share" for $8 each. As a group, we thought this was a good option. We ordered the green beans and potatoes. The portion size for this was SO small! There were 4 potatoes, FOUR, to "share" between 6 people. Also, we each got about 2 green beans. For $8 each dish, we all found this to be completely ridiculous. Probably will not dine here again because of this. The side items should not be listed "to share" unless they actually want to give enough on the dish to share.

This was my 2nd time eating at Lusca and it was just as good as the first despite the considerably more packed house. Word has gotten out and Lusca is now known and has a following. I had the charcuterie plate and escarole side which were both very good and satisfying. My husband ordered the pork chop which was so-so and our friend had the branzino which was delicious. The "table wine" carafe of red is a great buy at $28 and was a delicious Italian from the Veneto region. My only complaint is the noise level as it is very loud and we even had a quieter table in a corner. We will be back because the food and service are top notch, but maybe we'll try an earlier or later reservation to avoid the need to shout.

As an out-of-towner this was an incredible recommendation by a chance meeting of a local! This restaurant was a fusion of top of the line, melt in your mouth sushi, tapas dishes that were heavenly and dessert that was divine! I can't imagine all the other amazing things they have on their menu. The chef was extremely accommodating to my son's food allergies, that is always a HUGE star in my world! I love that they source the local food from local farms and farmers markets. The menu changes daily. We were there on a Monday night and the place was hoping! Make sure to try their innovative drinks! They are known for their coffee but we were not coffee drinkers. I highly recommend this gem!

My fish was barley warm, the meat plate had 3 pate's (not mentioned by the waiter) there were only 4 cocktails on the menu, only one of the 3 desserts on the menu was any good. It was mediocre food for really high quality prices. We wont be back and we won't let our friends go there either. Our server was good though.

I've visited Lusca three times. First, the manager Tim, place your trust in his ideas on food and wine. This is a restaurant where you want to work with the manager and the waiter (in our case Brian). Tim explained the oysters and suggested three. We tried them with a delicious Portuguese wine he also suggested. Outstanding the Shibumi the best but found the comparison much fun. As many say the Charcuterie at Lusca is excellent but again we had our preference of one pate over the other. I don't want to spoil dinner for you. Just order a few items and try the Portuguese Red Vinha Do Putta. Dessert.....oh the cheese (if you like ripened smelly cheese. we do) and a glass of the port (ask Brian.)

Lusca is relatively new, and still working out some kinks, but overall, we thought it had very good potential. It is a comfortable and casual atmosphere. If you love oysters and/or sushi, you will definitely want to try Lusca. Even though we do not favor those foods, there were a variety of other tasty and interesting menu offerings, both small and large plates. Small plates mean small, so be sure to order more than one if you are trying to make it a meal. Loved the rabbit agnolotti. Hint: the bread is quite good, but be sure to ask for it, as it is served "on request" (which we didn't know until after we had finished our salads).

For the money the taste of the food is worth it, yet the portions were extremely small. I had the Corned beef hash, my wife had the salmon and grits. My cocktail was fantastic. The wine list was great. Dessert was very good. Service amazing. Decor exceptional. Unfortunately, the food was dreadful! The salad was soggy with dressing, lettuce and one tiny orange slice. Then came dinner, roasted chicken: which was a bland plate of gravy with flecks of carrots and tiny pieces of chopped up dark meat chicken. It was the worst meal I have ever had. It's disappointing because I live just a few houses down and love to have dinner options I can walk to! Since Atlanta has so many amazing food options, including Saltyard and Watershed which are BOTH right across the street from Lusca, I am afraid Lusca won't make it. It's a shame!

The oysters and charcuterie plate were outstanding. The latter, however, could have used another piece of the crusty bread or two, as well as some extra condiments (the mayo and mustard dollops were a little sparse). The kohlrabi salad was excellent, but could have used a little more presence of the white anchovies. The crab/avo dish absolutely needs some brightness, a lift. The crab/avo paste immediately takes the crunchiness out of the charred bread, and you end up chewing a bland, undifferentiated mash of dough, crab and avocado. As it is, there is too much bread proportional to the crab/avo mix, and a touch of lemon or capers or cool cocktail sauce or almost anything acidic would only help the dish.

Amateurs. Waaaay overpriced for what they're delivering. Undercooked $60 dry aged steak. Didn't even bother to cut off the outer dried up crust. Outside had consistency of beef jerky. $6 for single piece of nigiri. More expensive than Umi. Friendly staff and great vibe though. Hope they work out the kinks.
