I read other reviews as well. My daughter and I were in New York for a play that evening and were staying near the theatre district. This restaurant was about a 12 minute cab ride to the upper east side. The place is nice and cosy -not "tired looking" as some other reviews suggested .It was formal without being stuffy and all the waiters were most definitely Italian! My meal (tortella - filled with mushroom and spinach) in a cream sauce was simply amazing. The tiramisu was the best I have ever had! The gnocchi my daughter ordered was also the best gnocchi she has had. We were very happy with our choice and recommend this restaurant! The food is delicious and prepared beautifully (homemade fusilli with Amatriciana sauce, Calves liver with a red wine reduction, John Dory over sauteed spinach). Our server, Edwin, was observant and gracious, and the manager recommended a wonderful bottle of wine for our price point.
