  • "The food was truly exceptional. I had the short rib potato hash and my boyfriend had the farmer's omelette. Our food was very thoughtfully prepared, perfectly seasoned, well balanced flavors, beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. We were both very impressed; neither of us expected that level of cuisine for a brunch we stumbled on. The cocktail/bar program was very disappointing. Despite having over a dozen specialty cocktails on the menu, none of the ones we tried were all that drinkable - they are serving what tastes like watered down, well liquor, mixed drinks (nowhere near a crafted cocktail). It was a shame to have that high caliber of food and then drinks shipped in from a Howard Johnson in Cincinnati."

  • "Upon arriving, the hostess located our name for a reservation time 30min past what I expected, which was my fault. Without looking up she waved a hand and said 'go to the bar, I'll find you later.' The cocktail list was nice but they did not have a large selection of spirits. Not a big deal. We were seated next to a foul mouthed couple in which the lady was not fond of seafood and made it loudly clear as she commented on how the raw fair on our our table "was just not appealing to me, not appealing at all". Really? It's a SEAFOOD RESTAURANT.!The food was quite good and the fish was perfect. The espresso was horrible. Priced seemed a little high for the offerings. The hostesses were arguing when we left unnoticed. It wasn't even that busy."

  • "We shared a plate of shell fish to start, very fresh and some great chilli accompaniments. We had the tuna seared with sesame crust, which was incredible and red snapper in a Thai curry sauce (also very, very good). The service was fine but nothing to write home about and the setting is very cool. The music felt a little more bar like than classy restaurant but overall loved the place and would certainly recommend to friends. I'll be back."

  • "I think this place is perfect for people who love fish. And if you do love fish, I recommend you share everything, because the more food you try, the happier you'll be. We shared oysters - East and West Coast, and fried ones. The fried oysters are really good, they come on a tiny salad pile with a hint of ranch (?) sauce. After the oysters we shared the sushi only plate. That had 10 pieces of sushi and a roll or our choice on it. We picked the dragon roll and loved every bite of it. Our entree to share was the red snapper. Since we told our waitress that we're sharing everything, they already arranged two plates for us, so we didn't have to eat from the same plate. Overall, I really liked this restaurant. It's so adorable, I recommend!"

  • "Dined at Lure on 4/4, and was thoroughly disappointed in entire experience. Service was amazingly bad (and I don't blame it in Friday night rush - other tables seemed fine). Wine was best part of meal. Oysters were fine nothing impressive. App/mains were worst part - mushy crab cakes; crusted tuna was so tough to cut into I needed a steak knife and the fish was flavorless and served w/ greasy rice; lobster roll was no better than a quick serve place. Don't recommend or plan on returning."

  • "I love Lure. I've eaten here about 4 times and I don't even live in NY. The fish is always fresh and delicious. I love the innovative ways they prepare the appetizers and entrees. There is always something new along with finding some of my favorites still on the menu. I recommend this place to my friends who live in NY, which is a bold move."

  • "We went there on a saturday night and got the best table in the restaurant, away from the main room in quite corner. The main dishes were outstanding and i would really recommend to order the warm chocolate cake desert. it has their signature salted caramel ice cream which was the best ice cream i ever tasted. We will definitely be back soon!"

  • "One negative out of the way first: the noise level is high. We were there early on a Sunday evening when the place was about half full and already very noisy. Something about the acoustics. That said, the grilled whole daurade was so good it more than made up for any other shortcomings. I'll come back here just to eat that meal again. I also had a couple of nice oysters to start, my husband had the miso-cured salmon roll and the nori-crusted tuna, both good. The plum cocktail was also wonderful if you like a sweet drink. The salted caramel ice cream was good, although the rest of the chocolate dessert and the cookie plate, we didn't find as memorable."

  • "Having lunch or dinner at Lure makes you feel like you are on a yacht. The interior exquisitely mimics the inside of a yacht an put your mind into vacation mode. I've previously been there with a friend for lunch and recently went again for restaurant. Both times were memorable and delicious. The shrimp tempura was unusually prepared with a mayo sauce and was outrageously flavorful. For entrees, we had branzino with mashed potatoes and broccoli rabe, crispy, mildly flavored skin and cooked to perfection. Salmon served with thinly sliced fingering potatoes and leaks that were a burst of flavor. The hot chocolate cake, a classic executed and served with class and not overdone. I'm definitely going back!"

  • "We enjoyed the restaurant's excellent seafood dishes already for the third time and we again were fully satisfied with the nicel arranged and very tasty food. The wine menue offers great deals in all price segments. The only point that made us feel uncomfortable was the servants. We really felt rushed from course to course and the even brought the check before we have finished our dessert."

  • "The oysters could be bigger, but the shrimp and accompanying creamy sauce make up for it. We went to Restaurant Week, and despite the busy night, the staff was attentive and service was generally swift. I had the night's special swordfish dish. The fish itself was lightly cooked and seasoned well. My friend's salmon dish was rather good though. But all of this meant nothing when dessert came. We tried all three sweet dishes offered for RW, and oh my, were we mesmerized. The warm chocolate cake with caramel popcorn and salty caramel ice cream was awesome, but so were the apple walnut crumble and butterscotch pot de creme. Would definitely recommend this place to a friend .. though not sure of how expensive it would have been any other week."

  • "My friend and I went there for a weekday dinner. I brought my friend here to experience NYC fine dining. Lure didn't disappoint. My friend was impressed with both the ambience and the food. The yacht decor was absolutely enticing. It's almost a simulation of summer in the middle of one of the coldest winters in NYC. We were seated right away after we arrived. The staff were very attentive. Food was amazing paired up with a bottle of wine. This place is highly recommended for fine seafood fare."

  • "But they were SO busy and the tables were so close together I could hear conversations from both sides of us clearly. Food was pretty good. The restaurant week menu looked pretty amazing. My friend and I both got the raw tasting to start, which actually came with 4 oysters and 2 jumbo shrimps. For main course we both got the branzino, which was perfectly cooked and the flavors of the sauce and the sides blended extremely well with the fish. The dessert was also very good (don't even remember what it was) but was definitely overkill for how rich and dense it was after this meal."

  • "Had a great time at lure for restaurant week. Did not feel they'd toned down the experience because we weren't full price paying customers. Delicious food. Bloody Mary royale with jumbo shrimp and oyster shooter alone worth going back for. We had great wait staff but at the beginning of our meal our table was pointed out to us rather than us being taken there. We had to ask numerous people where we were supposed to dit and then the hostess seemed really snooty about it. A shame as the rest of the experience was top notch."

  • "Lure is designed to feel like the inside of a ship--which it does. Very cozy. They can make most of the alcoholic cocktails non-alcohic which is a bonus for moms-to-be and non drinkers. We started with oysters and the kale salad. Very fresh. We also had the kamachi app. All good. For entrees each of us ordered the sushi/sashimi combo. Again, very fresh and well prepared. The only downsides were that almost every dish we wanted to try (tuna, fish tacos, scallop specials, ceviche,) they were out of. But we'll just have to go back! The manager was friendly and professional as was our server."
