  • "We were celebrating a birthday. Service was wonderful, food was outstanding."

  • "The interior design of the restaurant is amazing sure does make you feel like you're on a boat along with the food they serve it was nice."

  • "The best food I've ever had in NYC... Need to eat everything on the menu before I die. Definitely going back!"

  • "Great oysters and champagne special. We enjoyed very much."

  • "Twice I have gone to Lure and they have told me I don't have a reservation even though I have the confirmation e- mail. This time they blamed it in Open Table. Too bad I stayed. Very mediocre."

  • "We ordered a small plateau and our shrimps tasted alittle overcooked but the oysters and clams were really fresh. The sauce on the fried calamari has an asian fusion taste which was a little disappointed. My entree was nori crush tuna and it tasted great. However, my boyfriend's dish, "steam red snapper" was overcooked and tasted bland. I do not recommend the "steam red snapper". That wasn't the worst. The worst part was when I requested the staffs/chefs to write " happy birthday" on the dessert plate and they didn't write it. I made the reservation 3 weeks in advance for my boyfriend's birthday and I called to confirm about the dessert part. Overall, the environment was nice but the food was overpriced for the quality we have received."

  • "The food was of high quality, but everything did seem quite overpriced. The service was offhand to the point of being rather inattentive. As the evening wore on the noise level became a deafening din. It is an elegant place to dine in, but I doubt that I will return."

  • "Great Atmosphere & excellent food. We will definitely return on our next trip to New York!"

  • "You enter what looks to be subway stairs into a beautiful yacht like room amidst the busy streets of manhattan. You get treated like the captain of the yacht by the sommelier, the maître d, the wait staff. And then you get to choose from an abundance of amazingly cooked seafood as well as fantastic and interesting sushi combinations. For the non surf lover, there is an excellent turf selection (including an amazing burger - but who would be surprised after so many burger bash championships won by chef/owner josh capon!). Lure is the perfect place for a special occasion, and if you get lucky enough to call it one of your regular spots, even better!"

  • "Lure is my local canteen, I eat lunch there a couple of times a week, and dinner very often as well. They continually meet and exceed my high expectations, and have been doing it on a regular basis for many years now. That's a difficult thing for a restaurant to do, which is why it is regularly packed, day after day, year after year. The sushi is surprisingly high quality, and the cooked foods are excellent, as are the drinks. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home, even if you aren't a regular like me. The afternoon majordomo Roz is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet! The restaurant gets a lot of celebs and power players, but she finds a way to treat everyone like a king. Highly recommend."

  • "Lovely space, excellent food and presentation, smart sommelier, almost unbearably noisy room."

  • "My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Lure Fishbar. We opted to order a bunch of appetizers in lieu of entrees. The seafood was fantastic: Empress crab claws, fried oysters, sushi. The polenta with mascarpone was amazing! I will definitely try the shrimp and polenta entree next time. We also had chocolate cake, which comes with chocolate pudding, salted caramel ice cream, and caramel corn. That, as well as the ice cream cookie sandwiches, were the perfect end to a birthday meal. Oh, and I highly recommend the apple ginger cocktail!"

  • "Everything was so spot on from start to finish. The food was the star though. Super flavorful. Perfectly seasoned. The lobster croutons and crab cakes are a must!"

  • "Awesome oysters. THE toto sushi was really good too!"

  • "Terrific!! Food was great and the service was outstanding. Sommelier was a bit absent."

  • "Decorated like the interior of a fine yacht, Lure provides an excellent seafood experience with excellent service. The salmon avocado sushi roll was excellent as was the lobster ravioli. Such excellence comes at a price, however. An evening at Lure is not for those seeking a cheap or "economical" night out. But for those willing to splurge there is no better seafood place around."

  • "Great food, service, and drinks!! A very enjoyable dinner with great service."

  • "Went there for lunch. The appetizer salad Nicoise with generous tuna cooked to order was my main. A Fun theme restaurant. My wife had a cod surrounded by clams in their tiny shells. Between a clam shack and some other five-star NYC fish place. Good wine service."

  • "Awesome soho gem. Great seafood and service. Will def be back"

  • "We had the branzino and the snapper, both amazing. I thought I had ordered the special blue crab sushi roll, but my friends told me I had in fact ordered the tuna roll. Upon hearing this, the waiter asked if we wanted to change our order, and we said no, the tuna looked fine. He ended up bringing us the spicy crab roll on the house. Both were delicious! It was just really nice, friendly service and excellent food. Highly recommend."

  • "Lure is a gem! From the outside, you go down a set of stairs so it doesn't look like much to start with but it has a great atmosphere and is very busy. The tables are quite close together, so you think that you will be eaves dropping other conversations, but for some reason you don't! The noise level is high but you could still hear your own conversation, the lighting was low. The food was excellent. I had the steamed lobster tails ($48) - you got plenty (I couldn't finish them). Expensive, probably due to our choice from the menu (including wine) and there certainly was a lot of choice (seafood, steak, chicken, salads, sushi)! I would certainly recommend a visit!"

  • "We brought friends from the Netherlands here for lunch. Great decor...you are inside a boat. Even our guests commented on the floor as actually similar to a real boat. Food was great. Shared a cold seafood platter, wine, and bloodies....A definite do it again type of place."

  • "Very nice restaurant. Definitely one of the best in neighborhood."

  • "If you love seafood, you will love Lure. The food is fabulous. I love the ambiance and motif. It is also a great place for drinks. "

  • "It wins on all fronts - as indicated by the stars, assuming you enjoy seafood. Beyond wonderful seafood choices - save room for dessert - the ice crean sandwich plate was amazing."

  • "Dined at 8pm on a Sunday- early for NYC. they ran out of all green veggies could not order sides we wanted. Wait staff - rushing us to make a decision on our order thru the entire meal. 2 thumbs down!"

  • "My whole was perfectly charred on the grill. The meat was moist and delicious."

  • "This was my second trip to Lure. It's a great spot in Soho for Asian-iash seafood. There is sushi on the menu and it's quite good, but entrees are the highlight. We had the miso salmon and red snapper on curry broth, both excellent, and the tuna tatami to start. Only downside is the noise level, which was high even early evening on a Thursday."

  • "Sushi is always fresh, innovative and delicious. Pricey but YOLO! Treat yourself once in a while."
    Dined on 5/30/2014
  • "The talented celebrity chef Josh Capon constantly surpasses himself with excellent varieties of inventive dishes from the start to the finish. The server was so helpful in providing suggestions of her favorites. One companion who required gluten-free food had many choices. Of course the fish as well as the sushi was fresh and well repaired. Of course, it all comes with a price, but was worth it."

  • "We had a reservation at Lure on Memorial Day for an early evening pre movie meal and just loved it! Alana, our server, was welcoming, very sweet and helpful. She recommended the Lichee Gin Martini, and it was perfect! The best "crunchy" oyster appetizer - enough to share! The crab cake basket was yummy - pure crab. My husband's lobster ravioli was just that - no fuss, just chunks of lobster tucked in the ravioli in a light marinara sauce. Everything served with a crisp, light slaw. All in all, a great Memorial Day meal! "

  • "Love the nautical decor: porthole shaped windows, bow shaped ceiling. Food was great except pricey for what you get, especially oysters and appetizers. Service was excellent. A few very loud diners made the noise level really high. "
    Dined on 5/24/2014
  • "We ordered two lobster rolls and they were both pretty bad. The lobster was not succulent and fresh. The huevos rancheros was pretty good. The brioche French toast was alright. Overall not a very good experience. The city has many options so I will not be returning here. "

  • "Outstanding seafood, but the noise level is overwhelming. Difficult to have a conversation with friends. If you can eat and talk loudly, this is an excellent place to go. "
    Dined on 5/23/2014
  • "The food was delicious! The staff was very sloppy. Several dropped trays/glasses/plates...one of the waitstaff even dropped a fork and food on us as he passed and didn't even notice! Unacceptable. "

  • "Delicious tuna burger. Great atmosphere. Loved the devil eggs!"

  • "When we are in New York and want an enjoyable seafood dinner we almost always choose Lure; and exciting combination of Japanese, shellfish and traditional cooking. This time the roast cod was just delicious and the pinot noir opened with every glassful. The attentive, friendly and yet unobtrusive waitress was an extra bonus. Expensive yes, but at Lure you really do get what you pay for"
