Got there and it was not open at all. The parking area was dark and isolate. I went to a restaurant around the corner and they had good food. I asked the waitress about the place and she said they close early. This needs to be updated into the open table list of restaurants.

Great food, the store decor is a bit strange but the drinks were very good! The menu resembles exactly what "izakaya" type of restaurants have in Japan and the taste of the food was very very good. Also, the prices were VERY reasonable and we had a great dinner for 3.

I'm so glad I read other reviews of what to order because the choices were numerous! With only one exception (the pork bellies) we loved each item we ordered. My favorites were the avocado tempura, steak sashimi, lamb chops, and especially the cat rice. We'll go back with a bigger group next time and order more extensively, sampling only one bite of a dozen or more items. Attentive service, interesting cocktails, quirky ambience. Great time!

I've been to Lure Izakaya multiple times. They have good portion sizes for sharing and a variety of choices. The only thing is I wish the waiters would be more attentive since they rarely come by to check if we need refills for our drinks. The food is decent but not amazing. It's great for late-night dining. I would also like to note that the 2nd to last time I dined there, they did not grant me 100 points for my reservation, instead canceling it.

After reading the reviews, I was excited to visit this place on my recent trip to Chicago, but was left highly disappointed. Service was slower than molasses- the food took nearly 90 minutes to come out (and was lukewarm when it did come out), and it took 30 minutes to get our drinks (not cocktails, mind you, but beer) both the first and second round. I think there were three waitstaff, including the bartender for the entire place, and it showed in the slow, slow service. Food was okay at best. Too bad. Looked like it was a cool place.

I really love this place. What a diamond in the rough so to speak. The food speaks for it self and the drinks are great. The service could use a little help. The drinks take forever. They need to space out the plates more. This is Tapas style, you shouldn't get everything you order at once! Live music, never too crowded, always parking and really good prices for the quality of food. Well continue to go back!

Excellent Japanese food (and actual Japanese food, not the bare-bones sushi and teriyaki you find everywhere) with a very tempting drinks menu in a cool atmosphere. Wasn't very busy for brunch, but we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The drinks were a bit slow coming from the bar, but our pacing was leisurely so we didn't mind at all. Lastly, because I know so many people who look for this, they do have a very nice bowl of ramen.

I'm not sure how this place has garnered so little attention from the Chicagoland area; it's wonderful! They offer a wide assortment of small plates, and all of the ones that we tasted were delicious. Particular standouts were the seared salmon, the braised pork belly, and the yuzu creme brulee; they were executed masterfully. Plus, the prices are quite reasonable--average about $5 per plate. I was tempted by their sake flights as well, but since it was a work night, I resisted. The atmosphere is interesting...not a traditional restaurant by any means. The lighting is very dim (I would call it dark), with a distinct aquatic theme; lots of blues, a few sea greens, moving patterns and such. Makes for good privacy and romance.

I made this reservation for my aunt and uncle as a surprise date for them. While I did not eat at Lure myself, I will definitely rave about the service lavished on my aunt and uncle. The manager waited on them personally, making sure that they were well taken care of the entire time. He also coordinated with me so that I could take care of the bill privately. My aunt and uncle were delighted with the creativity of the menu. They felt that it was a real treat to experience. The only thing I will say is that my aunt and uncle are probably older (by about 20-30 years) than the usual patrons, but they were still treated with respect.

Fantastic experience. Excellent service and some of the most interesting food I have had in a long time, at very low prices. If this restaurant was in River North it would be three times the price and people would still stand in long lines - but it is in Chinatown and stays below the radar because of that. The small plates were not that small, three per person will be a good meal, and they range from $5 to $15, although most are $9 and under (the most expensive one was foie gras, which I did not try this time). Spicy baby octopus, yellowtail cheek (must-have), poke, grilled conch, grilled tongue, all were fantastic. I will be back again for pork belly, foie gras, and some of the many other offerings that looked delicious on other tables.

The menu is a spin on traditional izakaya food, though most of it ends up being sort of mediocre. This is not a warm, cozy space (which makes it nothing like a real izakaya, and kind of misses the point) -- instead they're going for something clubby and trendy. BUT it's good for something totally different from what you can find in most of Chicago, and it's a fun place to go with a group. We went on a Saturday night and the live music happened to be some guys promoting a rap mixtape. Fun stuff.

Lure is the place to go if you're craving Japanese tapas! My husband and I shared the seaweed salad, pork belly, salmon poke, jicama roll, ocean soup, and uni. EVERYTHING was delicious. We've eaten here several times and always find ourselves coming back because not only is the food amazing and well prepared, but everything is fairly inexpensive! Where else can you get duck foie gras for $15 and pork belly for $5?! Service is always nice and food comes out quickly. The tempura ice cream was the perfect finish to a wonderful meal. We always recommend this place to our friends and all of them have enjoyed Lure as well!

I came here for my birthday with 9 of my friends and we had a fantastic time. All of us had never been to the restaurant before. The service was great, very attentive! And the food is unbelievably good - notably the lamb chops, scallops, tempura avacado, spicy chicken, beef sashimi, tuna avacado salad...amazing. This was also affordable even considering we ordered a bottle of vodka for the table...yes they even have bottle service! Great night, great food. Definitely give this restaurant a try.

This small plates find in Chinatown was worth discovering if only for how different the menu items are. The extensive sake menu would be a plus is more were offerred by the glass and offerred warmed. The waitresses recommendation for a bottle of sake for the table to share turned out to be an awful choice - none of our 4 diners could drink it. Specialty drinks were creative and good. While most of the food was delicious, the fish plate and lamb were both overdone. The pacing of the food was very unusual with cold items coming out well after we were almost done with our meal (we forgot we had ordered two items they came out so late). It's worth a trip but we probably won't frequent more than a few times a year.

Didn't know anything about this place when we went and sure glad we did! Flavors were inventive and perfectly balance in every category we tried. The grilled squid is a must and doesn't even need the sauce. Lobster with spinach noodles is a huge portion and noodles are perfectly cooked and dressed. Where can you get 6 oysters under $6? Here that's where! And they were great. Cocktails, esp Agave Roadhouse were just as inspired (that drink is a salad and drink all in one). Limited wines/glass. Waitress didn't steer us wrong in any selection. The foie gras could be a dessert (there are official desserts too). Super value on the food items. Only in America is there a Japanese pub in a Chinatown staffed by Eastern Europeans!
