There is a great outdoor patio with high walls. So you're not bothered by street traffic or pedestrians. Loved the marble tables and seating. Our server was knowledgable and very helpful. I ordered the scallops, which were cooked perfectly and were very tasty. My mom ordered the sole, which was fantastic. We split the beet salad to begin, which was wonderful. The wine list was varied and more extensive than I anticipated, and there are many options at a very reasonable price point. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. And the mint, ginger, and herb salad might actually be the best appetizer salad I've ever eaten. We've now been here three times and each time has been terrific, so it isn't a fluke. We had oysters, the pork & octopus lettuce wraps, the salmon, the monkfish (it was amazing), the chocolate peanut butter mousse cake, and the toasted almond ice cream with cherries. All of it reached beyond our expectations in its perfection. I thought our service was good the entire meal, but my expectations were exceeded when our desserts were offered as complimentary since our entrees "took so long to come out". I hadn't noticed, but they had and they proactively took care of us. That kind of stuff gets me every time. When you combine that with the very pretty decor and the general nice-but-not-over-the-top-ness of the place, you get a great dining experience. The Smoked Fish Platter and Octopus Wrap were prepared so well. The Octopus was tender (we learned later it had been sous-vided) and the smoked fish spread was delicious.
